    I completely empathize with you.... what makes it worse is, after a woman reaches "a certain age" (at least here in the U.S.), and they don't try to look good, they are chastised for letting themselves go, and if they DO try, people say they're trying too hard and should accept aging gracefully.

    If you're really lucky, someone might say "you look good for your age". But there is always the disclaimer "for your age".

    Yeah it's nice; although, when it happens it's usually by ladies much older than me though. I was in a gas station once and this lady in her seventies was just pouring on the compliments. When she left the lady behind the counter was laughing hysterically. I asked her what was funny she said she knows that lady and said she was trying to pick me up. Lol

    When it actually does happen, it feels great. Like just yesterday I was at the supermarket and the cashier smiled at me and said, "got any plans for the evening?" I was like, whoa-- what does she mean by THAT. And is this happening.
    I told her, with a blush written all over my face, that tonight was gonna be a chill night-- alone. I was hoping she would pick up on my indirect invitation, but then she told me to swipe my savey save card. So obviously she was playing hard to get at this point.
    Nonetheless I walked out with my groceries feeling quite the confidence boost. I'm ready for Line Dance Night this weekend.
