My trainer wants me to legit try to deadlift him. I could do a full powerlifting meet, just using real people! LOL10 -
I used the "Olympic weight room" at my gym this week! Female, new to weight-lifting, very intimidated by this spot in the gym where I'm supposed to do deadlifts....and I DID IT!!18

Buying two pair of these to replace two of my 46X30 pair of jeans.11

Yeah, girl!!! this!9 -
My most recent NSV... I almost didn't go to the gym today. There was no school (I work at a high school), it is rainy, and I had a new game that I've been wanting to play. So my mindset was to stay home and relax.
Well, that didn't happen. I started getting antsy and knew I'd be mad at myself if I didn't go. So I walked the 30 minutes it takes to go to the gym in the rain, and worked out for 1.5 hours. (Treadmill 4.6mph at an 11 incline for 60 min + 10 minute cool down walk, and 20 minutes of weights.) At least it wasn't raining on my walk back. Take that my lazy *kitten*, lol.20 -
My husband was out of town for work for the past week. When he got home yesterday, I was walking to another room and he called after me to ask how much weight I've lost so far (I am about 4 weeks into my journey). I told him about 8 pounds, and he said he could really see the difference :-) He generally HATES to make any comments about my weight, not even positive ones, for fear of it going horribly awry and coming back to bite him in the *kitten* lol... so the fact that it was so noticeable that he took a chance and asked about it was a big deal to me and made me feel awesome.27

size 8 jeans! started in a tight 20!

My work uniforms are getting very loose, so are a favorite pair of jeans around the thighs. That's how I know it's really working: when my thighs start to get smaller (caused they're frigging huge).22

Weird NSV. Anyone else lost inches in unexpected body parts or the low priority areas. I had small wrists but i noticed my wrists are smaller. My ankle and feet look smaller but I barely had any fat there to begin with. I also noticed how bony my knees feel. It's uncomfortable to sleep sometimes. Again, I didn't have much fat in that area. The human body is so weird. I keep hoping my body will work
with me to reduce the fat cells in my hips/butt/thighs were most of my fat is stored, but my body just ignores my request. I need to have a come to Jesus meeting with my fat cells25 -

Yes, I have had this. I have thin legs. Never thought I needed to lose weight on my legs. But my mom gave me some extra narrow calf boots this summer. I could zip them, but they were tight. Now I can zip them all the way up and they are comfortable. That was honestly a suprise for me.8 -
Last night friends sat at a restaurant’s outdoor dining table before I came out. I sat right down on the plastic chair without a care. 130 lbs. ago I had to have a regular chair at a gala instead of the pretty chiavari chairs selected for the decor. On my way to goal and never ever going back. Thank you MFP community for motivating posts I read daily.38

Funny, my NSV is my first pair of long boots since grammar school. I was a normal weight teenager and younger adult, but my calf measurements are huge. As a young thing, wide calf boots were not an option (that I knew of anyway) and I just bought a pair! So cool to be able to wear long boots, I never even knew it would be possible.
Oh how nice it would be to spot reduce, those 15 1/2 inch calves (each well over 1/2 the diameter of my waist!) would be one of the first targets!6 -
Ran some intervals this afternoon—so excited! All of the running was under 7 min/mile, mostly 6:20-6:40. And best moving pace 5:53??? Who is this speed demon??? I don’t think I’ve cracked a 7 min mile ever. Not even close.13

OK, this is odd and I'm not sure if it's a victory. A ton of people at work have commented on my weight loss, which is nice. In fact, I need to learn to gracefully and briefly say "thank you," instead of my usual, "yes, I've lost some but I still have a ways to go" or a too-long dissertation about how I've gained and lost over the years.
Anyway, today's sort-of NSV is a co-worker said a couple of volunteers asked her if I was "well." They noticed my loss and wondered if I was sick! Now, I am not at all skin and bones (just barely in the healthy BMI range, thrilled to fit in medium shirts) and I hate to think I'm looking wan, tired, or sick in addition to being a bit smaller. I'm choosing to think they just thought I looked different and wanted to make sure everything was OK.23 -
Today I tried on some jeans that haven’t fit in six years, wanting to see how close I was to wearing them. Then, I wore them to the store because guess what?! They fit!24

Hey I know you!3 -
My little bike and I have travelled a long way together over the last (almost) 18 months:
I actually hit the 7k mark going down my big hill but as I was going at 44mph decided not to stop for the photo
Over that distance I have:- gone through three pairs of tyres (currently on the 4th pair)
- had a new back wheel (old one was slightly buckled - thanks, potholes)
- had two new sets of brakes
- had a new chain
- had a new rear gear ring
- had a fair few punctures (haven't counted them all but had three in one day and the next day had the other tyre burst)
- wrecked two pairs of cycling gloves
- worn out several pairs of trousers
- worn out a pair of shoes
- have seen many things that I would otherwise not have EVER seen, mainly birds (rare-ish ones such as kingfishers and wrens) flowers and wildlife although I did also see a verge fire (had to call Fire & Rescue for that one)
- come across way too many idiots in cars who think that cyclists don't/shouldn't exist
- enjoyed (almost) every second of it.
To be able to say all of this after a lifetime of obesity is pretty amazing as well.
Just thought that I'd drop this here as these were so beautiful and it was such a lovely sunny day. Just a reminder that Spring is finally on it's way . . .

I’ve posted a few over the past few weeks but it is definitely keeping me going having something new and going, “oh! I can put that on the NSV thread!”
Anyway, my new one that I just discovered is I am now on the smallest clasp on the “large” Fitbit band. I bought a bunch of “small” bands in different colors a year or so ago, and I’m excited to get to wear them soon!21 -

Well done! Me too. Unfortunately mine is an old
Charge HR where i can’t change the strap, so once mine becomes too big I will have to buy a new one6 -
At some point I stopped wearing shorts under all of my dresses and skirts and can do so comfortably!
Also, I am up to being able to do three pull-ups!31 -

I've logged in for 25 days and have completed my diary every day! Big success haha28

I worked out today! Spent most of the day telling myself I needed to and that I'd be so upset with myself later if I didn't. When that wasn't working, I told myself if I worked out then I could have ice cream after dinner (still had calories leftover today it would fit in!) About an hour after I finish my program my boyfriend arrived home from work... and asked if I wanted to get ice cream tonight. So it all worked out.15

I have been practicing IF for a couple of weeks now. I am getting to a point that I can skip breakfast now and then. I am learning that I can be hungry for a while and it's ok. I feel like I unlocked some sort of life hack, as this is enabling me to eat what I want for dinner, and sometimes have room for dessert, and it doesn't blow my whole day! Yay!22

My NSVs today:
1) That I finally managed to get through this thread's history and caught up (amazing to read through changes especially on repeat posters!). I joined in June last year as a point of reference.
2) That I *DIDN'T* work out today. I have been doing some level of exercise (even if it's only walking a mile on a "rest" day) every day. I can tend to be quite an "all-in" kind of gal on things like this, But I wasn't feeling well, both in the ways of malaise and shoulder/upper back alignment issues/pain, so I decided to take a day to truly rest things up. Things aren't feeling perfect, but I can tell a definite difference comparing now to the beginning of the day, so it was definitely what needed to be done. SO ready to get back at it tomorrow, though!21 -
i fit into a 3xl shirt for the first time in a year!44

I’m sleeping so much better! It’s wonderful!17
