My digital scale only has 1/2# increments, and I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale. Comments reflect prior day.

The key to weight loss is to never feel like you’re on a diet, because diets don’t work. If you feel deprived, you will never make it past a few weeks. The only way to achieve long-term weight loss is to learn to appreciate food as fuel and slowly replace processed food that cannot properly energize the body with real food that can. After a while this will become second nature and won’t feel like a daily struggle. — Laura Burak, MS, RD, CDN9 -

02/19 -174.6 All of the positive comments and eating struggles some people are having really motivated me. I'm up from the last round and was very disappointed in myself. But I realize that this is a journey not a quick fix. My husband is a golfer and is teaching me how to play. When I putt he always tells me "If you hit the ball short of the hole, there's a 100% chance you will not sink the putt". I say, if I stop working on eating healthy and exercising, there is a 100% chance I will not meet my goal of 135 lbs. Let's do this!

2/17 - 130.0 - starting with a drop back to current low weight. Yesterday under calories, modest walk / stress-bust run.
2/18 - 129.8 - first sight of the under-130's, but likely to be temporary over calories yesterday, knee hurting, did not work out.
2/19 - 129.8 - okay lol. Under calories yesterday, did some resistance training at the gym which I literally hate, and still got my steps in. Struggling to get into some kind of weight training as it's the cure for skinny-fat.

February
17: 219.6 Not concerned about the increase. Way to much sodium yesterday. Corned beef is SOOO good though. I'm heading out for a 60 minute walk now and will focus on reaching my 100oz water goal today.
18: 219.7 Water, calories, macros, sodium, exercise were all on point yesterday. Count down to TOM includes little gains daily. Then, as long as I stay motivated and on track through a few days of cravings and actual increased hunger, there'll be a nice drop, releasing the little gains plus some.
19: 218.8... That's a pleasant surprise. No TOM yet. Managed a 15 calorie deficit, even having pizza for supper. 108oz of water. No exercise. I don't have high BP, but it does get checked everyday. I'm noticing that it's lowering as I consistently meet my 100oz water goal.

Heaviest Weight: 235 lbs/106.6kg (February 7th 2018)

Daily Goals:
Drink 90-120oz of water daily; consume 1300 cal (amended - not time to change calories yet) and measure food; no added sugars/sweeteners; around 1500mg sodium intake max; get in 5000+ steps daily; do chi gung; sleep more than 6 hours nightly!
Day/Weight/Comment
02/17: 228.4 – The day’s events (brother coming back from Nigeria, Shabbat meal, and snowy/prolonged travels) produced a day where I chose to be highly mindful but not meal plan due to difficulties and wanting peace of mind. I am hoping that this did not take me back much, if at all. Water was still good and I got a full night of sleep! These don’t come around often, but/so I intend to stick to the plan on subsequent Saturdays!
02/18: 231.0??? (post breakfast and 24 oz of water) - Weigh-in might be a bit off since I went out of sequence and didn’t weigh first thing in the morning. Activity and water intake were lower than desired, but everything else was good so I am hoping for positive scale movement! Second night of having eight hours of sleep (if slightly interrupted) ! Not having a good place to walk around on days that I am not working or running errands is a challenge I will have to tackle so that I’m still getting some movement in. I am starting a new Ayurvedic supplement, so I’ll have to see how that affects things.

I’ve lost 10.8 lbs so far in 3 full challenges plus 3 days (started late on the first). I’m getting into better habits. Day/Weight/Comment
02/17 = 208.6 (-0.6). Let the good times roll. Even when I have a “bad” day, I’m always at maintenance or under (215 over calorie goal last night). And the bad days are becoming few and far between. Being accountable every day seems to be the ingredient that has been missing for all these years. I’ve logged for long periods of time in the past, but this opportunity to “journal” has been lifechanging. Had a glass of wine and a small dessert last night, but felt in-control the whole time. Going to the gym today to lift weights and do some HIIT. Light lunch, and then dinner and a movie with my wife and a couple of friends. Going to try to make healthy choices (or at least portion control) tonight at dinner. I'll see where I'm at with calories and decide beforehand if I want a drink.
02/18 = 209.2 (+0.6). Lifted weights yesterday, but HIIT didn’t happen (Got a little lazy. I miss basketball!). Ate light for breakfast, but had a surprise poke bowl from my wife for lunch. Had plans for dinner and a movie with my wife and two of her friends, but apparently there was some miscommunication regarding the movie, so it ended up just being dinner. I ate pretty light, but the food was decadent, and I had a drink. I’m having dinner tonight at my parents, which will likely include at least a drink or two. I’ll be happy to escape this weekend at my starting weight. This really is a constant challenge, but it’s getting so much easier to make good choices (and stop my bad choices from going too far and completely derailing me). This feels like it’s working, even if my weight does not go down every single day.
02/19 = 207.4 (-1.8). I think this number is a little exaggerated because I slept in 2.5 hours longer than ususal, but I’m mostly just really happy. Ate super light for breakfast and lunch. Had a standing rib roast with twice-baked potatoes and two margaritas for dinner at my parents' place. Plus it was my brother’s (my mom’s dog) birthday, so also a cupcake and a scoop of ice cream. I’m pretty sure I overestimated everything calorie-wise, because I really try to err that way if I’m not sure what I’m taking in. If I weren’t calorie-counting I would have eaten 2-3 times as much as I did. Of course, I didn’t, and I was completely satisfied.

2/17 - 267.2
I don't weigh in on the weekends (use the scale at work), but I'll just use yesterday's weight as my starting point this round. Since I always seem to have issues on Fridays and Saturdays, I have decided to eat at a deficit Sunday through Thursday and then eat at maintenance on Fridays and Saturdays (if needed). This seems to have been working for me so far, and has made the process much more sustainable.
2/18 - 267.2
I feel like I'm finally starting to develop a healthier relationship with food. I had spaghetti & meatballs from Olive Garden today (1,120 calories total--ouch!), but I still managed to stick to my calorie goal for the day. Rather than eating it all at once, I divided it in half so that I got two meals out of it. This may seem like a no-brainer to some people, but it was always so difficult for me to do this in the past. I always felt like I needed large portions in order to be satisfied, but now that my body is adjusting, I'm finding that's no longer true!
2/19 - 268.2
I know that I stayed within my calorie budget this weekend (I'm very meticulous about weighing and measuring everything), so I'm going to chalk this up to water retension. Not thrilled that the weekend is over, but it's much easier for me to stay on track during the work week, so...I guess there's that.

02/19 - 67.9 kgs : disappointed at myself for the last two days. I sabotage myself during the weekend hence this slow gain. I didn’t eat well and ate more than I should have. Hello, No previous rounds.
SW 266
I lost 40 on MFP earlier when I had time to exercise. I have gone back to work full time and gained weight due to not having as much time to make meals at home and exercise as much. I have started regular exercise and we make most meals at home and I stopped the weight gain. Now to lose and keep it off while working full time and loving it.
goals:
tweek breakfast my weak spot
get back to regular exercise after a bad cold
up water intake
healthy meals at home (have a night meeting coming up so probably bring leftovers to work)
I don't have to lose a specific amount but just get the trend going the right way for this less than 10 days.
Day/Weight/Comment:
02/17 - 258 - my weight varies a lot daily so I keep a spreadsheet and I am using it to fill in these days I missed
02/18 - 261 - I have had a cold so trying to get rest to get over it finally

2-17 - drive drive drive
We left yesterday after the movers were finished and we had finished cleaning. I stuck to my calorie goal (partly bec. of no breakfast!) Drove from Eugene, OR, to Ashland, OR. Lovely drive, even if we were tired. Stopped early, and I ate a nice, healthful dinner.
2-18 more driving
Ashland to Stockton, CA, yesterday, and on to Barstow, CA, today. Beautiful drive through the Central Valley - almond trees in glorious bloom (and nothing smells sweeter- like honey in the air!). I ate mindfully and within limits, and had no evening snacks bec. my dog was barfy on the trip so no little shares of my stuff, and I didn't want to eat in front of her. For some reason I've been unable to sign into community with my iPad, so missed yesterday. Maybe TMI?
2-19 travel, but no driving today (except to WalMart, laundromat, & to eat!)
We spent the day in Barstow because of high winds to the east and bad (snowy) roads through the mountains by Flagstaff. Hoping for good travel conditions tomorrow. Eating what I want but staying within my goals pretty much. It's motivating to check in with all you good eaters out there!
2-20 more driving
2-21 driving again
2-22 guess what we're doing today?
2-23 still driving?
2-24 maybe we've arrived?
