I did my first parkrun! And I set a PB for a 5km walk/run! AND that makes 3 runs this week! YAAAAAAAY! My only issue is that I did a run yesterday too and my shins hurt :-( (I try to have an active rest day in between runs).
BUT I will rest up, stretch, rest some more and hopefully get a run in on Tuesday.14 -
I am really frustrated with my husband right now, the kind of frustration that would have had me reaching for a candy bar a month ago.
Today, it was more like "Well, what are you going to do about?" "Well, I am not going to eat because of it!"
Even after he turned down my inspired compromise.24 -
Goal that I wrote in my "Just-For-Today" thread post was to run 15 minutes on the treadmill at 5.5 m/h. DID NOT WANT TO GO at all. I warmed up at 3.5 m/h for 4 minutes and told myself I could count it against the 15 if needed. Got to 7 minutes and was like "I... don't feel any more tired than I did 3 minutes go. Weird."
Ended up stopping when the timer got to 30 minutes because I've got a Zumba class tomorrow morning and want to be able to do at least some of it!29 -
I have a new boss at work and we were doing my annual review, note: we now use our ID badges to log into the computer. My boss takes mine, looks at the photo and looks in shock. I've lost almost 60 lbs since that ID badge photo was taken. Needless to say, that made my day.27

I'm home alone, husband took kids on an outing. I was dreaming of the peanut m&ms I have hidden in my room (so my kids don't eat them all). Got on MFP and entered my supper and just over my allowance and knew to stay on track ---NO m&ms for me today. Still thinking of them, but not gonna eat them!34

About twice a day a healthcare vendor will bring in doughnuts, cookies, etc. Sometimes it's even "healthy" stuff like fruit or vegetables dipped in high fat ranch dressing. For the past week I've told each vendor, "Thanks but I don't eat anything I didn't bring." One became pretty insistent ("But just a bite won't hurt!") Anyway, I stood strong and made it through the entire week without eating anything I hadn't packed (which means it was measured and logged into MFP).
Also for the past week I've kept to my resolve to drink 3 bottles of water (about 54 oz) of water every day.
My reward? Bragging rights AND my fasting blood sugar going from 180+ in the morning to 148 this morning!35 -
Saw my trainer yesterday. I was telling her about how I struggled to bench the bar (45 lbs) when I was lifting on my own last week, and thought I might need to start with one of the smaller bars. She wanted us to just try it. I benched the bar x10 easy. She laughed and said I was crazy for thinking I needed to go lighter. Then we added 5 lbs, then 10 lbs.
Every day I am learning to stop underestimating myself when it comes to fitness -- a huge mindset change.32 -
Returning to work after 5 weeks off and my work shirts being way too big, soon will be needing new ones!21

Got another "have you lost some weight?" Comment at work yesterday lol and just walking in front of the mirror and thinking that I look good instead of noticing negatives. It's awesome!19

This is a definite win! Personally, I can't have dates in the house. If I'm making something that requires them I buy just the right amount I need. I once bought a big bag at Costco and ate through it within a few days. Which I guess is still better than the old me who would have eaten through it in one sitting LOL15 -
Fit into my size 32 Silver Jeans this morning. My size 33 were getting loose. Working towards my size 30 next.16

See, I'm the opposite - I love dates but more than one at a time is too much, so they are a perfect food to have around since I have to limit sweets after getting diabetes. More evidence that there's no such thing as one diet fits all! Congrats both of you on learning more about what is a good decision for you!16 -
I just walked 8km rather than doing usual thing of getting a taxi or a lift to pick the van up from where i left it last night after a boozy night out with the husband. I’m currently top of our Fitbit challenge, I enjoyed it and I know I need to keep moving to really see results.16

I went shopping at Macy's yesterday and while I was changing I noticed my stomach looks alot smaller. I then was able to fit into a pair or high waisted jeans Size 32 which I swore were going to be too big just based on how they looked. It just felt good to not hate what I saw in the mirror!13

I used to drink a Diet Coke every single day. It's officially been three weeks since my last one, and I haven't even craved it! Water and zero calorie teas are my new best friends. I perform better at the gym now, too, and I'd like to think this has a lot to do with it.23

That's awesome. I always lie about my weight when I have to get my license. [/quote]
I always have too, and have lied by a LOT. In fact, the first time I did it, the DMV clerk - herself a plus-sized woman - gave me a skeptical look. I said “that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.” She said she understood.
In reading original post, I realized that today, after 14 months of MFP and exercising, I’m only 7 pounds away from my DL weight. Unbelievable!21 -
The scale hasn’t moved in awhile but my husband wrapped his arms around me for a hug today and says, “you’re so little, I can really tell you’ve lost a lot!” That was a good feeling!26

I am suddenly back to 'normal' rather than overweight.
I saved some pants despite them not fitting for a year. . .and they fit again! In fact, they are becoming a bit loose. I am waiting until I am closer to my goal to go shopping though, stretchy pants and skirts will suffice until then.
I can now do more full form pushups as I could do on my knees one month ago.
Havent been going to the gym, been having beer and treats, and still staying within my calorie plan with no guilt whatsoever
Congrats everyone on your personal wins !!16 -
I bought a trench coat today. It's too small for me right now, I'm determined to fit into it by Autumn. The NSV is that it's beige. I shy away from light colours and tend to mostly wear black clothing which is more slimming and makes me feel less noticeable, so for me to buy a beige coat it must be a sign that I'm starting to grow more confident in my appearance, Also, I suppose just the act of buying a coat that is too small is an NSV too because it shows deep down that I must actually believe I can achieve my goal!22

Push ups... on the floor! No more bench push ups for me... Strength training is paying off.
Next Hurdle - Pull ups! (not assisted)28 -
I went out last night, had way too many drinks, and even though it’s not pretty, I just logged it all
And today, even with the hang over, I stayed within my calories and ran a couple errands by bike instead of staying on the couch35 -
Completed week 6, run 3! I'm starting to like this running lark and that is something that I could never have seen myself saying out loud. Wish I could see a bit more movement on the scales but I'm trying to be patient16

Recently went back to a deficit after maintaining / not logging for a while. I don't see much difference yet, but saw a friend today who exclaimed "You look great! You're wearing makeup today? Or something? What did you do different?" (I was wearing exactly the same minimal makeup I wear everyday). So clearly something good is happening!14

Fantastic show of will power and intentional eating. Checking on the amount before scarfing them down is what we should do each, if we don't pre-log! Very inspiring. Keep up the good work.
Onward!9 -
Free lunch today. I knew lasagna was on the menu and considered just skipping the lunch, but instead decided to scrape out the filling and leave behind the pasta. All the delish, a fraction of the calories and well within carb limits that my blood sugars can respect.14

I (well my boyfriend noticed first) noticed that squats are working for me and I've lost some back fat. I notice a change in my face as well.15

Caught sight of myself from the side in the mirror when I was doing my hair and I have visible lats! Never in my life even when skinny have I had any noticeable muscle in this area. I also think my new muscles are making a big difference to the amount of loose skin I had in my back and armpit area, as well as my upper arms - no more "bingo wings."17

Went downhill skiing yesterday, and a friend of mine convinced me to try blue runs (I was happily sticking to my green run previously). Sooo, the blue runs are much steeper than the green ones, and I ended up falling a few times (surprise, surprise). My NSV was that I was able to stand up, get my skis back and continue down the slopes. And then go up again. When I was on the slopes several years ago, in my worse shape, and fell down on the green run, I wasn't able to get up! I needed my husband to help me, and it was so humiliating!! No wonder I stopped even pretending skiing at that point!
Well, yesterday I was able to stand up on my own, several times, and even if I am bruised and sore in several places after falling down, I am going skiing tomorrow again, to a different mountain, which my friend is dying to show me!22 -
Down 2 plus pants size almost into the next pants size because the current size is a bit baggy also. Makes me so happy, I went through my clothes and pulled out everything that is to big to wear and donating them to a clothes pantry.17
