Round 34: 171
GW:145
Day/Weight/Comment
3/19 - 170.2 Going to try to challenge myself to do 30 Squats & 15 push-ups a day and a vitamin this round, in addition to watching calories. Will do cardio as able. Hopefully that tiny bit of muscle increase will help with the burn. Took vitamin and did squats/push-ups. Ate a little over calories and went to sleep early.
3/20 - 169.6 did daily did squats/push-ups. These weights are consistent with the range I was at in round 34... with my lowest weight recorded at 169. If I start seeing drop to 167 & 168 this round, it will be good.
3/21-170.2 I'm okay with this. Husband made dinner last night - burritos and homemade pico and guac and chips. So calories were all guestimates and I went over even so. Did half an hour on the treadmill. I am in control of my food today so should drop tomorrow. Did push-ups and squats.
3/22 - 170 Yesterday I ate under calories, drank extra water, went to bed early. I was sure I was going to drop more than a pound. But alas, just in a holding pattern right now. Did push-ups this morning. I can knock out the squats this afternoon at work. Hope to get on treadmill tonight. Over the last few weeks, my fat has fallen a little so at least that is good. Keep on keeping on I guess. If it is not rising dramatically, that is good.
3/23 -169.8 Yesterday I ate at calories, did squats and push-ups and 15 minutes on treadmill - was super exhausted but managed this. Hope to have more energy for exercise tonight. This is the weight I started round 34 with I think so really been the same weight for a couple weeks - all while staying within 1200 to 1400 calories. Before that I had lost about 8 lbs in the previous month. Age is not good to metabolism, ya'll... but hoping that I can honestly get into the 160's and stay over the next few weeks.
3/24 - 169 did all my vitamin taking and push-ups/squats. Didn't get on the treadmill but speed cleaned for about ah hour and 15 minutes - pushing vacuum, mopping on hands and knees and such. I break a sweat so know that they are a workout with an ulterior purpose. Just woke up and still tired. Hoping to get a really intense workout in today. Already done with my squats and pushup goal for the day.

3/19 -- 197lbs clothed. final weigh in for work challenge. today will be healthy lunch and a victory 1/2 pound burger with ham, bacon, cheese and all the fixings for dinner at my local watering hole. then back to maintenance grind. goal is set to not be over 20% body fat or over 200#.
3/20 -- 197lbs +5lbs? - victory dinner -half pound cheeseburger with bacon, ham, and all the fixings along with fried mushrooms. I paid the price for that dinner. logged 2900 calories for the day witch is the highest in 7 weeks. I actually had hick-ups most of the night. back to maintenance. packed a great 200 calorie lunch and have lots of awesome healthy leftovers ready for dinner.
3/21 - 197 - not bad. I really thought I would be up all week. eat good yesterday morning and had large dinner. but the snacks at class later that night put me slightly over my goal. goal is 1750 calories daily and maintenance is 2700 so I still feel good at 1900
3/22 196lbs - did not plan on a loss considering brats with bun for dinner but I was still around goal calories after having a few cocktails. regularly carbs are high, fats are low, protein is high, sugar is very low
3/23 - 195lbs - really surprised at this. has to be water loss from having a few mix drinks! ( "A few" LOL. that was funny)
3/4 - 194lbs - I am going to stick with 1750 calories and see if this is just a fluke.
wife is getting pissed that I now weigh less then her. she wants to eat exactly the same foods I do this week to see if it will work for her. kinda a 5/2 diet. Sunday night/Friday night no food choices. I eat the same breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks every day. weekends are not much different but we include alcohol and a big home cooked dinner.

Round 8 for me (6 full rounds plus 3 days), and I'm getting smarter every day. I'm also kinder to myself, more reasonable, more forgiving, and just generally better. I think I'm going to track my calories forever, and I'm okay with that. I'm also going to continue to post here forever, too. Maybe I'll move to a maintenance thread, I guess, but I hope you get the picture. This group has been life-changing for me.

Day/Weight/Comment
3/19 = 205.2 (-1.4). BOUNCE BACK™. I'm going to differentiate this loss with everyone's favorite rainbow unicorn, the WHOOSH™. I had a big gain on the last day of round 34 (2.2 lbs), and this is my body beginning to recover from that. I ate well yesterday, was under calories, drank plenty of water, and under on sodium. I have basketball tonight, which means a trip to the gym as well. Good start to this challenge!
3/20 = 204.6 (-0.6). Another BOUNCE BACK™. Good day at basketball yesterday, ate well, drank enough water, good on sodium. The sins of Sunday have been erased; it only took two days this time. I can pretty much predict my weight trend every night at this point based on my behavior during the day (thanks mostly to for tracking). I know a bunch of you have probably reached that point, but it's still pretty cool. Missed the gym last night, so I'll be lifting weights and doing HIIT tonight.
3/21 = 204.8 (+0.2). I felt a little out of control yesterday. Snacks were flying my way (some of them guided by my hand), and my wife bought me dinner (really hard to track), but I think I did okay. I was probably over a lot in salt, though (teriyaki is the devil). My wife was home early, so the gym didn't happen, either. The next stage in my development is motivating myself to get to the gym on non-basketball days (this upcoming Monday, for example). It's easy on basketball days, but mostly "miss" when basketball doesn't happen. I'm thinking of trying SL 5×5, but I need to make sure my knees can handle all the exercises before I get too excited.
3/22 = 203.8 (-1.0). And that's a WHOOSH™. Inching ever closer to onederland, I'm at an all-time low (since restarting MFP). Met all my eating goals yesterday, and snacked on fruit instead of crap last night. It's raining all day today, but it's basketball tonight. I will not miss it, nor will I miss lifting weights with my wife. Motorcycle life!
3/23 = 202.0 (-1.8). I had a really good night at basketball. It's relatively normal for me to have a good drop when I play. I ate within calories (didn't eat any of my 1250 exercise calories back), was over on sodium, and was a little light on water, at least for a basketball night. I have a really nice dinner out tonight; going to try to keep portions under control. I'm also trying not to get too excited, but ONEDERLAND is within reach. It will be my goal for next challenge.
3/24 = 204.8 (+2.8). Before I understood my pattern this would have been incredibly upsetting. It was a cheat meal. I did the best I could with it, and at least it wasn't 4.0 lbs (which had happened before!!!). It was tasty, salty, and fantastic, and I have only minor regrets (as I avoid these situations as much as possible). Basketball and the gym are happening this morning, and I have 4 days to work this off. Even if this challenge ended today I would be 1.8 lbs down, which is pretty great. I'm hopeful. Taking 80 ounces of water to basketball today.

I'm a little frustrated, so yesterday (3/23) I calculated my average calories over the past 3 weeks. The result - 1548 - aligns precisely with my TDEE per the sailrabbit.com calculator, so I believe I am eating at my current TDEE and I am making 1548 my new daily goal. When I try to eat less than that, I wind up really hungry and go over the lower goal, so I am rethinking.
Then I read a slew of articles on BMR, TDEE, calories, healthy weight, and so on. As a result, I've concluded that, although I would like to lose a bit more, I am currently at a healthy weight and I feel good about myself, and I have revised my goals. When warmer weather arrives, I’ll be exercising more, and will no doubt lose a bit if my caloric intake remains steady. Most important is to live a healthy, active, conscious life, and that is my primary goal. No diet, no extremes, just healthful foods. I hope you don't mind my hanging in here as I maintain/lose a little.
Goals:
Weight ~~ maintain or lose slowly.
Food ~~ 1548 calories max (estimated TDEE); P 20-25%, C 35-45%, F 30-45%

3/19 - 149
Back on track - calories & macros good and I squeezed in a short but fast walk yesterday. I feel better already.
3/20 - 149
Lovely day yesterday, even though I splurged on a donut with my painting group. Today I'm off to train with this girl (she has a number of advanced obedience & other titles, 12 yrs old and still loves to train!). I can't think of a more fun way to get some exercise!
3/21 - 149
I went a little over calories yesterday - not much - but I was hungry and it was Siggi's yogurt. All good. Had lots of fun training with my Labby girl, Lily, and got a lot of other things done as well.
3/22 - 149
I remember hanging out at 149 a while ago. My body clearly thinks it's home. Not yet, baby! I'm going out for lunch with a friend, but I have my order planned, so all should be well.

Really? This has to be water - I had the best ever reuben for lunch yesterday (well, half - the other half is waiting for me in the fridge), but stayed within bounds (actually low) on total calories for the day. I didn't get enough water - running around all afternoon & evening - so hopefully this too shall pass. Sigh.

3/19 - 128.6 - yesterday around maintenance calories, a few K extra low-impact steps, still not feeling great.
3/20 - 130.2 - yesterday over calories. Short walk at lunch. I have been over eating my goal for days now, emo over long term and seemingly unresolvable issues, and having a hard time pushing myself to work out. Have a social thing this evening, so struggling to balance it all when I just am not feeling it.
3/21 - 129.4 - yesterday just at calories for .5lb/wk loss, 20 minutes on the rower.
3/22 - 129.0 - yesterday under calories, lots of steps and a 2.5 mile run, first in a couple of weeks.
3/23 - 128.4 - yesterday under calories, 10K steps and some floors. Slowly easing back down from my over the weekend bump, in time for ... another weekend ...
3/24 - 129.2 - yesterday over calories, 10K steps and 20 floors though.

Day/Weight/Comment
3/19 – 226.2 before breakfast. Food prepped for the day and I’m feeling very mindful today so I’m on the right track.
3/20 – 226.8 this morning. Not worried about this – ate under cals and went to the gym last night.
3/21 – 226.4 before breakfast.
3/22 – 226.2 this morning. Slow but steady. I’ve planned out my day as we’re attending my son’s school fundraiser for dinner.
3/23 – 227.8. Overindulged in every possible way yesterday and here it is. Planning did not work as well as I had anticipated. I gave myself 2 minutes after morning weigh in to beat myself up and 2 minutes of self-pity and now I’m back. This WILL NOT lead to a backslide.
3/24 – 226.4 today. Held myself accountable yesterday and was mindful of what I ate.
