I'm a breast cancer survivor finished treatment in dec2017 I'm 20kgs over weight from all the treatment and energy loss. I find it difficult an expensive to eat organic plus it goes off quick so I thought of trying Herbalife and possibly be a distributor if it works. I would love to hear your experience with it please before I invest. Thanks in advance.

To eat healthily, you don't need overpriced and hyped stuff. You can buy normal foods, and if you plan your meals, you don't have to overbuy.15

It’s an MLM selling overpriced crap.33

Waste of money. So is buying organic.31

This.
Seconded.4 -
It's over priced poor quality protein.
They have been sued in America for their lies.15 -
Think of a horse.
Now think of the mess the horse leaves behind when it's finished digesting and processing its food.
That's Herbalife.20 -

It's a great way to lose friends and money.
Much less good for weight loss and income.16 -
Considering you are in the process of recovering from cancer treatment, why would you want to use a product that was cited for multiple health issues including causing liver damage? Your body has been through enough.
Eat nourishing foods that meet your caloric needs.

Why are organic food and man-made supplements and shakes the only options?
Please see this informative glimpse into the world of MLMs and take heed.

It will make your wallet lighter. You'll probably also eat out a lot less, because eventually your friends and family will shun you and block you on all social media outlets because of the incessant sales and recruitment pitches. At least that's what I've seen from every person I know who has fallen for this kind of woo.
As far as the products themselves:

By now I'm sure you've done your research on the company. You know about the allegations of lead contamination and liver failure and you know that they settled a lawsuit brought by the FTC for defrauding distributors. I'm sure many people have seen success with Herbalife, but it's not a company I'd personally feel comfortable getting into business with. If none of what you've read about them scares you, then go for it. We're all adults here. We get to make up our own minds about things like this.17 -

With good reason, too. Invest in good food and focus on meals you enjoy, and stick to a deficit that's comfortable and manageable. Best thing you can do for yourself. And congrats on finishing treatment, I hope you stay cancer-free for a very long time17 -

To be fair, Herbalife distributors aren't allowed to sell openly on the boards, so most of the people who would tell you it's great don't post around here. The same way that if you asked an Herbalife distributor if MFP is any good they'd probably tell you that calorie counting doesn't work and you have to buy their products. Be sure you do your research, both good and bad, and make up your own mind.11 -
Ultimately, of the big names in MLM Vitamins
Advocare
Herbalife
Isagenix
Shaklee
only Shaklee seems to have any sort of positive reputation. and Advocare and Isagenix just haven't been around long enough to have any reputation at all.2 -

About the only place you're going to see positive reviews are on their own website, or from people who are trying to sell you the stuff or recruit you for their downline.10 -

You won't find a lot of positives here about anything that costs money to aid weight loss, because they aren't necessary and some are downright dangerous.
Please take some time to read through the success board here, you'll find the stories of many fantastic folk who started at all shapes and sizes and have lost weight simply by eating a little less and moving a little more.
Then check out the Most Helpful posts on the Getting Started and this board.
You'll find great advice there, it costs nothing and won't cause a lot of your friends to block you for re-posting the horrendously photoshopped Herbalife transformation pics11 -

Hey now. Not all of them are terribly photoshopped. A lot of them are just stolen from other dieters. There's a difference, you know :drinker:17 -
Chemistry degree here. It's a joke, a scam. Carpet-baggers in the business of recruiting other carpet -baggers. Don't waste your money, and don't reveal your ignorance to those who know better.11

Must just be my insta feed that is full of the fakers ha Honestly between that and "It Works" I probably blocked more people than I have followed.2 -

Correct.
Should tell you something. A lot of the posters above have tried a lot of weight loss gimmicks in the past and have found them to be an honest waste of money. Very few people succeed long term on programs like Herbalife, and those who do likely would have succeeded simply counting calories, and saved a lot of money in the process.4 -
Have you even tried that money pit of garbage?!
It is truly yucky! Why not just eat real food and just eat less? To make a life of ingesting herbalife makes me gag!1 -

Congratulations for finishing your chemo treatment. Good for you for wanting to get back on the health train. If you are a confirmed gym junkie, might I suggest you take that up again? I am sure getting your shape and endurance back will be a big plus.
The last time I was at the gym I noticed that a fair number of gym rats were toting around Nalgene bottles filled with brown water. I'm assuming there is a fad going around that suggests that brown water is healthier than clear water. You could accomplish the same thing by steeping a favourite herbal tea and sweetening it with your favourite sweetener. Any tea will do. Toting around a bottle like that will also insulate you from receiving random gym rat nutrition advice.
With twenty pounds to lose, you can enter your stats in MFP, start entering your meals as you eat now, and adjust to stay within your calorie limit. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and a daily dose of chocolate, to give yourself those wonderful anti-oxidants to suck up any free radicals. Boo cancer!3 -
