Last week, I had someone at the gym tell me that he was impressed with my dedication and how hard I've been pushing myself lately.
Today, as I was getting ready to leave, I had another person approach me and introduce himself. He and his wife have been regulars at the same time I work out for a long time. He said they've both noticed how hard I've been working and could see the progress I'm making.
Both of the comments reminded me that changes are occurring, even if it feels like an agonizingly slow process at times, and people are noticing that I am putting in the work. I never know what to say besides "Thanks, I'm trying" but I really appreciated they went out of their way to say something.47 -

This probably isn't much but I love to bake so I made shortbread cookies for the first time today. Found a recipe with nutrition facts so I could track accurately. Being that shortbread is nothing but sugar, butter and flour (not healthy at all lol) I only ate ONE. And didn't crave another even though they came out great. I plan to bring them to my pool league on Thursday and share with the team so they don't tempt me further.15

@JuliBiGoolee - I'm with you on the getting control over cookies front. I like to bake too. I bake cookies for my son and teenage grandsons and usually keep one or two for my husband and myself. I cannot believe I've finally gotten a grip on that. I would've eaten dozens a couple of years ago . . .12

@kittybenn Yes! And I know there are plenty of healthy cookie recipes out there but some classics just can't be messed with.5

I'm only about 9 pounds down or so but someone at work asked me today if I was losing weight. Made me feel good!17

One of my coworkers also noticed, which is nice considering I'm only down about 4 lb. since the beginning of 2018.11 -

Great job @ValeriePlz !!2 -
We have a stand of ever-rotating candy at my office. I visited to get myself some m&ms (no shame in that CICO game). A coworker saw me and said, "I love seeing the super-athletic runners get candy too."
...Moi? Super-athletic? Runner? Sacré bleu!37 -
back from a weeks vacation and scale was actually down.
Came back determined to really focus on the eating for the next three weeks as a mini goal.
Very large slice of cake served today at our monthly birthday luncheon at work. had three bites and saved the rest to take home to husband.

Today I'm packing for a trip to visit my daughter at West Virginia University. I've noticed that since now that my clothes are either sized medium or large, I can fit a lot more in my large suitcase that I could with my sized 2XL wardrobe. Wow, even my luggage can now be a smaller size. Haha.38

I had to buy so many new clothes for my trip. It's supposed to get warm and all of my clothes from last summer are hanging on me (size 2XL). Awe shucks. New bathing suit, pants, shirts, jackets, all size 12-14, even my shoes were big. Go figure. I'm so happy, I'm going to show up to a sorority brunch actually wearing a stylish outfit. Not the usual, whatever will hide my huge body. I also got a new haircut and new car! It's a total new me. I'm loving life!40

There is a lady where I bank. She has been asking me about my weight loss for months. I told her about MFP and how it has helped me with my weight loss. Today she asked again and this time with her list of excuses. I remember that they were Identical to the excuses that I made before I got with the program. I am not intending to put her down in any way but it was ignorance that bound me to the idea that I could do no better than I was doing.
My NSV for today is that even though the scale has all but quit moving and temptation is to give up, I HAVE NOT returned to my denial. I know what is true when I hear it, even if it comes from inside. If I want to be healthy I need to act responsibly when it comes to food and exercise. I am able to continue today what I was able to do yesterday. I know the truth and the consequences of my actions.
I know how you feel. My scale has been hovering around the same 4 lbs for almost 3 months now. I no longer get on the scale. I'm strictly going by how my clothes feel. Still not giving up. I'm under in calories just about every day and I continue to do my zumba class 2-3 times a week. Plus I've increased my daily steps. Hopefully, at some point my body will get it's act together.12
