Remember when that was a thing?

Remember when TV shows came on once per week and if you missed it, you would have to wait for summer reruns to see it again. Everyone who watched the show saw it at the same time, so you could talk about it the next day without someone shouting "Wait, don't say anything! I'm only halfway through season 3!"4

Did anyone else's mom make them wear culottes?
Mine didn't, but SHE wore the heck outta some culottes in the 80s.
She dressed me like I was going to private school or maybe Hogwarts. No one else wore the stuff I did. I am mildly surprised no one made fun of me, but apparently they thought I dressed like that because I was "rich" (definitely was NOT rich, just an only child with a weird mom)2 -

Remember when "You're ugly and your mother dresses you funny" was the worst insult you could receive? That and "You're a double-decker disconnected Kalahari bushpig!" Although, that may have been a South African insult.1 -

Those tights were seriously painful to wear. They always rubbed your foot in a bad place and you'd be limping by the end of the day. I think I cut mine off at the ankle and created leggings (before leggings were a thing). Didn't realize I was fashion forward!Did anyone else's mom make them wear culottes?
My mom made me a pair of those - overall top, culottes on the bottom but it was like a skirt over shorts. The skirt came off so it was two outfits in one. Made out of some crazy bright orange print with all the signs of the zodiac. Looking back I thought I was pretty groovy!

I assume by “knickers” you mean the knee-length trousers worn by newsboys and not undies.
I had a pair of olive green corduroy knickers I would wear with argyle socks. I remember insisting upon wearing them (with a matching mohair and acrylic blend sweater) on the first day of the eighth grade even though it was early September and near 90 degrees,1 -
