I actually remember when I was young my mum had this thing called the 'bot cloth' ok it was just a rag that she used to clean my *kitten*. My 17 year old half brother came to stay. One day i was pestering him as normal, I was stood outside the bathroom annoying him. Anyway he tells me to leave him alone, cos he's washing his face. I had to giggle to myself as I asked him....what cloth are you using? He said "the blue one" WELL .....my pleasure in telling him that's the 'bot cloth' that the whole family uses to clean themselves after, y'know.. Lol
I admit this is the first I've ever heard of a bot cloth. For a moment I thought I was lost and ended up in the "Is it just me?" thread.
I had no idea that a bot cloth was ever a thing.
Neither did my brother LOL
Tbh I think it was just something my mum invented before baby wipes. Genius.
But like.....wouldn't it have smelled bad? So wouldn't he have caught a whiff of butt when putting it up to his face to wash with it? Speaking of washing...How often did this thing get washed?
I have so many questions.....1 -

Getting cable tv.
Tuesday night ABC TV - Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley.
Family get together to watch Hee Haw and eat pizza.
Playing outside with friends till it was dark - baseball, bikes, hide seek.
Listening to baseball on the radio, it was rarely on TV except Saturdays.
Family lunch at Grandmas every Sunday after church.
Climbing our cranberry tree, building a tree house.
Earning money mowing grass and shoveling snow.
Our bike rides were ridiculously far. We didn’t have cell phones of GPS. We would use church steeples and water towers as guides. Got lost once and I was terrified.
Fishing all day. Getting horrible sun burns.

Apparently still a thing... I was prank called at work not too long ago while school was out. However, the kid had no idea what *67 was (hides you on caller id). I think he just told me I was going to get fired, and then hung up before the giggling started. What ever happened to the old classics like asking if my refrigerator was running? Or pretending to sell me some stupid crap to see how long they could keep me on the phone for? Do they even use an actual phone book anymore, or just look up yellow pages online? It's defiantly a lost art.0 -
Having a hand written address book, or having to remember people's phone numbers. These days I just go find "mom" or "dad" and hit send...3

Remember having tv antennas before cable became more available and then when you had cable staring at the scrambled Cinemax to hopefully see boobs?2

When cars didn't have air conditioning. Brutal.0

Growing up our cars never had working AC so it was the windows down or nothing. Even now I'd rather just wind the window down and we've had working ac for nearly 20 years in our cars now lol. As for lead the cars got good mileage with that until they took it out. Remember when cars had giant engine compartments animals could get into? As much as i hate new cars that's a nice touch.0
