Took a break for a bit from daily recording. Wanted to see if I could hold around the 183-186 range. Was getting worried that if I relaxed even for a second I would balloon. But it's been pretty consistent when I do check in. Time to get back to it, though.

4/18 138 Busy day today! Half day meeting today, community bingo tonight, and packing for the weekend. Leaving EARLY tomorrow for my 50 year high school reunion. 4 days away with no scale.
4/19 138 Weighed at 4AM instead of 6:30-ish. Good day yesterday. Already in the air and will try to post from the Baltimore airport.

4/21 No scale Awesome day helping the reunion committee and re-meeting many old acquaintances at a bar owned by one them. Great start to a fun weekend.

4/23 (7:12AM ET) Everyone is gone so I was exploring our little house and discovered a scale in the second bathroom. It is a Tanita and says I weigh 135.8. Now I’m curious to see what mine says tomorrow. Posting really late but have been on the move all day! When I got home at about 7PM PT my scale said 137.5.
4/24 136.5 on MY SCALE I’ll take it! Down 1.5# during a party weekend at THIS age! Here’s my secret-I took what I needed to make my BPC to start the day right, I offered to help where needed causing me to totally miss the appetizer table, made food choices appropriate to my meal plan, didn’t overindulge in adult beverages. One tequila shot (Friday) and one vodka soda each, Friday and Saturday.
4/25 136.5 Below initial goal but continuing on. I am thrilled. Cruising in 10 days. I CAN DO THIS!

4/19 - due to surgery my face was very swollen. Three hours of sleep again last night. Made minestrone soup today. Finally the weather is suppose to get better and I can start to go for walks. Still super hungry.
4/20 new challenge, I went to the dentist yesterday, he did not see anything wrong. I went back today and my last tooth which is root canal is infected I could hardly drink water. Maybe the steroids caused it. brain surgery and infected tooth. going to get tough to beat this.
4/21- goal for the week, is to cut out salt and sugar and see if this helps for swelling. Going to have a strong week
4/22- still lots of swelling my whole face and neck. But I ate good today lots of fruits and vegetables, chicken.
4/23- ate lots of fruits and vegetables- all colours. I feel good because my sugar and salt are down.
4/24 walking steps, on my Fitbit hit 10,400. Eating chicken, vegetables, and fruits.
4/25 I feel great today, my best day. The swelling from my face is starting to go down.
4/26 Went for a walk today it was uphill I sure felt it. My Fitbit steps 10,143. Just my weight is frustrating me. It is going to be a real challenge for me. Today is five weeks since my surgery. It is unreal the way it healed. I would like to start on fish oil, vit. c, and collegen.

I have really been tightly back on track for the past week, and then last night we had a friend in for coffee and as we were chatting I suddenly realised that I had absentmindedly munched several of the biscuits hubby had put out with the coffee. (not sure exactly how many, lol! as we were having such a great chat.) Not going to beat myself up, but wondering how do we combat the old habits which just seem to lurk there, waiting until we are off-guard, to sabotage all our hard work?
Maybe all we can do is to be aware of it happening, and make sure that we stop as soon as we realise what we are doing. I am continually reminded that being fit and healthy has to be a life time commitment, and is not a quick fix.

Well I have finally reached the normal BMI weight range which tops at 132 for my height. It may look like I have lost a lot of weight this week but in the last 30 days I have lost 7.8 lbs, averaging a little less than 2 lbs a week. Had a big water retention gain of 3.4 lbs last week that came off this week. Now to work towards my goal weight range within the normal range. BMI charts recommend anywhere from 95/98 - 132... So I think i will try for somewhere in the 110-120 range, and see where I feel good and comfortable. Glad to be on this journey with you all.

4/18: 109.8kg/242.0lbs - Went to the football last night, we lost 3-1 but the atmosphere was amazing and I didn't buy a pie - winning. Starting to feel that I'm gaining a better relationship with food! Sidenote: I have wanted to be below 110kg for sooooo long, today is a great day.

4/20: 108.9kg/240.0lbs – Not feeling good today, had to cut this morning’s run very short as my stomach turned – shame really but I’ll try again on Sunday. Buzzing with this drop though – out for food and beers tonight so this will change.. (Also updated my HW as it was incorrect)
4/21: 109.1kg/240.5lbs – Feeling bloated, but the weather was lovely. Dragged myself on an 18km in the sunshine, time wasn’t great and I think I need to start looking at some energy gels to keep me going.
4/22: 108.1kg/238.3lbs – Expected a drop after such a long run, rest day today even had a couple of beers.
4/23: 108.4kg/239.0lbs – Monday, back to work and back to my meal preps. Lunch for the week consisting of: Lemon & Herb chicken, sticky rice, broccoli & sweetcorn. Gym tonight too. Good news also, my BMI has gone from Obese to overweight - WOOO.
4/24: 108.3kg/238.8lbs – Back down a little, a step in the right direction. 8km run this morning, gym tonight and then 16km tomorrow morning!
4/25: 108.2kg/238.5lbs – I like this, slow and steady wins the race! 16km this morning, legs are aching, no gym tonight and rest day tomorrow. I may eat pizza tonight..
4/26: 108.1kg/238.3lbs – 0.1kg down a day is fine by me! Rest day today then running 21km tomorrow morning. Just over 2 weeks until my half marathon!
4/27: 108.1kg/238.3lbs – Happy overall. Nice to have a steady round, not too dramatic. I also ran a half marathon before work today!! 2 weeks out from my actual half marathon. After crunchin numbers I have also just realised this is my 2nd best round to date – WOOOOO! Thanks for all your support as always.

Nothing works unless you have a sustained calorie deficit over time. Anything will work if you have a sustained calorie deficit over time.
Motivation is overrated. What you need is education, willingness to eat less, a good plan, and discipline to stick to it.

4/21 213.6 Still doing good. No mindless snacking…that’s what would always sabotage any weight loss for me. That, and eating way too much at mealtimes. Paying attention to how much I’m actually eating makes a big difference. Also, making healthier choices of what I eat. Have a good weekend, all!

4/23 211.8 I’m surprised my weight is down again today. I figured it was time for it to hold steady for a few days before beginning that downward trend again. Nevertheless….I’ll take it. Just finished a cup of tea and some plain Greek yogurt for breakfast. Does anyone else notice that when you miss breakfast for whatever reason, you’re not as hungry during the day then on days that you eat breakfast? Yesterday I had a cup of tea in AM, but didn’t have time to eat before I had to leave. Wasn’t hungry until early afternoon. But when I do eat something for breakfast, I’m usually thinking about lunch by 11 AM and find it more difficult not to want to eat a whole lot more throughout the day. I wonder why that is?

4/25 210.7 Doing a happy dance! Today marks 3 weeks on MFP and I’ve lost my first 10 pounds! Mostly it hasn’t been too difficult, but there have been a few times I really wanted to give in to the urge to splurge and just pig out. Anyway, keep up the good fight, everyone. It is so worth it!

4/24 - 185.6 - I drank a ton of water yesterday, but my food choices weren’t perfect. I did go to the grocery store to get more fruits and veggies for snacks. Hopefully, that will help with the after work snack.
4/25 - 185.1 - I'm still headed in the right direction even though I wasn't that great about eating healthy yesterday. I forgot my lunch and didn't have time for breakfast so by the end of the day I was ready to eat everything in front of me. Today is a new day, hopefully, tomorrow will continue the downward trend.
4/26 - 184.7 - Ok, I'm not going to complain about that. Unfortunately, I broke my toe yesterday because walking gracefully has never been my strength. Dr. wants me off my feet for 3-5 days so I'm not counting on losing much more but I'll try to stay hydrated and not feed my boredom with comfort food.
4/27 - 186.1 - Well that stinks but it’s ok, I’m still down. I know that it’s just water though. I will be away for the weekend, so I won’t have a scale but I’ll be back to weighing myself on Monday (maybe even Sunday night). I’m excited for round 39, I’ll be back to work and ready to start again!7 -

4/21: 186, first day starting challenge. First challenge for me. Need to find another accountability tool that works for me. Hope this is it!
4/22: 184.3, Moved more yesterday and broke out the food scale. This is mostly water but I’ll take what I can get!
4/23: 181.7, Stuck to calorie goal and had a long hike yesterday. Feeling less bloated.
4/24: 181.2, walked over 16,000 steps, drank tons of water and went over calories but still dropped half a pound. Must have been at maintenance or near it and rest is water weight. Will try harder to stick to calories today because this water loss will come to an end soon.
4/25: 184.1, welp, I was within calorie range but know a lot has been water flux. Here’s the proof. Sigh.
4/26: 182.1, Woohoo! The downward trend continues even with a few blips. If I stay strong I should hit my goal tomorrow.
4/27: 180.1, Goal met and then some. Got 17,000 steps in yesterday in addition to my regular workout. Knowing today was the last day of the challenge was real motivation not to snack too much last night.7 -

4/18 – 196lbs – allowed myself a free for all day to end the free for all week. The next 10 days I plan on shifting from maintenance to weight loss program. Should drop 2-3 in the first days then a couple more by the end of 10 day challenge. 190lbs on or before 4/27 is my goal
4/19 – 195lbs – still predicting a quick drop if I don’t have adult beverages. Eat before logging and WOW does prime rib have a lot of calories. Homemade and worth every bite. Managed to ride bike for 30 minutes
4/20 – 194lbs – good thing lunch was on target. Eat 5 hotdogs at a gathering last night and had 1 to many cocktails! It’s a fishing weekend so I probably will not eat right the next 2 days
4/21 – 192lbs – eat kinda okay yesterday but didn’t plan on 2 pound change.
4/22 – 192lbs – not bad for a weekend. Hope the fish are biting this afternoon. had the last salmon in the freezer a week or so ago.
4/23 – 193lbs - to much sunshine out fishing lake Michigan, fell asleep in my chair till 6pm. Instead of cooking the fresh coho salmon I took the wife to chines buffet. Still full this morning. Salmon tonight!
4/24 – 192lbs – kinda not expected. Lots of snacks and beer on the boat last night. Only caught one brown trout, then had dinner after 10pm. Going to try hard to reach 190 yet this round even if only for the last day
4/25 – 193lbs – my bad eating habits as of lately are late night binge eating after a cocktail. Good thing I have been keeping my days in check or I would end right back at 235lbs.
4/26 – 195lbs – right back where I started. Yesterday after a kinda bad lunch the wife tells me we are going out for all u can eat shrimp. I got my moneys worth!!!!!!!!!!!!
4/27 - 194lbs. okay so maybe one pound down in 10 days. I can live with that. Good job everyone.
