This was my first cut after 5 years off back in 2013.
I went out to a social event, and the Wife showed me some photos a few days later, I was disgusted at how I'd let myself go.
I was working long hours, eating rubbish and drinking far too much.
I started a cut the very next day, Just about 9 months between pics.
(first pic is flipped, so they all face the same way, I've also had 11 sessions of laser tattoo removal, decent tan and you can hardly see them anymore).
Pic below was 2015 somewhere around 8% BF.
And the last one was last year somewhere around 6-7 %
Sorry about the weird 'stalker' type smile lol
Are you for REAL!!! Grandpa who? You look amazing and I can tell you feel that way too, congratulations! How does one cut?12 -

my story's a bit different....and while the physical changes aren't as dramatic as some of the others in this thread (seriously, you guys are amazing!), I feel like i've made a lot of mental progress lately. Still a long way to go, but I'll get there eventually.
So happy for you!!! We can't achieve anything without the right mindset, very glad you were able to overcome. Don't minimize your accomplishment, its big!!! I have no doubt you will get to your goal. We all have a story. Continue to write yours and keep believing in an incredible ending. Thank you for sharing, I can relate.27 -

Thank you so much!!! You have no idea how much that means to me. Thank you for making my day a little brighter☺️
Patience and consistency! This was over the time frame of almost four years. I started off with just making little life changes and that got the ball rolling for me. I changed my coffee order, I changed my bread to from white wonder bread to whole wheat fiber one bread (50 calories a slice)! I looked for better alternatives and took out unnecessary calories while still eating the same. I started learning more about fitness and nutrition along the way. I don’t deprive myself of food I love but I do also struggle with binge eating disorder. For a long time I thought my habits were normal becuase my family used the same coping mechanisms( food) to try to make myself feel better. After seeing that my life didn’t have to be a cycle of guilt, shame, and emotional issues, I made that my main focus for a while. I started taking better care of myself mentally, emotionally, and physically. I started to appreciate my body for the journey it has lead me on. I don’t hate myself as much which I never thought that could happen.
Aside from that, I do get frustrated when I don’t see results. You need to have patience if your fitness journey will take off. Taking measurements and pictures is the BEST way to see how your body is changing.
I go to the gym usually 3-5 days a week. I HATE cardio but I will force myself to do 20-30 mins everytime I go. I switch it up between running on the treadmill (HIIT) stairmaster, and elliptical. Then I either use free weights, or lift with machines. I save Instagram videos from Kelseywells, ashlensandefur, krissycela, and stef_fit. I used their videos and copied what they did until I felt comfortable at the gym. Now I use it for ideas if I’m not sure what I want to target that day.
So be patient, stay with it, do it for yourself, and don’t stop even if you feel like nothings changed! You can reach your goals and it is possible to feel comfortable in your own skin! I wish you the best of luck with your journey and I hope this was helpful! ❤️

40 pounds down in 6 months. 250 to 210. I love the way I feel mentally and emotionally as well as physically... I am nowhere near where I want to be yet but now I believe I can.

I did a volunteer build day for Habitat for Humanity, so I had to compare todays picture with a picture from the last time I was rebuilding a home.68 -

Very inspiring! 40 pounds gone is nothing to shake a stick at : ). Great job so far and you will be kicking the doors down to your goals in no time flat if you keep at it. Awesome!3 -
At my heaviest I was close to 200 pounds. My weight loss was not linear, I had several failed weight loss attempts over the next couple years, where I'd drop 5-15 pounds, then fall completely off the wagon.
Eventually it finally stuck and I made a full lifestyle change. I'm now around 143.70 -
