Day/Weight/Comment
5/08 - 163.8 - A little bit of an increase but I was expecting it, I always gain a little when I don't drink enough water and the past couple days I haven't. Going to up my water intake today and get a walk in this evening. Wasn't able to walk yesterday like I wanted to, husband came home from work with a trailer full of mulch so I spent the evening weeding and laying mulch instead. Granted that's a work out of its own. Looking forward to this new round and getting that much closer to my ultimate goal weight.
5/09 - 163.8 - Been around this weight for quite a few days now so I'm hoping to see a drop soon. I've been getting well over my steps goal (10,000) the past few days and my food has been good, haven't been eating back any of my exercise calories. My water intake is down still though, for some reason I've been having a hard time drinking as much as I was which I find weird, you'd think I'd want to drink more as it's getting very warm out.
5/10 - 164.4 - Well crap! I wanted the scale to move and that it did but it went in the wrong direction... I think it's because I've been bad with drinking water the past few days, was a lot better drinking my water today though and my food has been good, even though I had to mentally slap my hand away from grabbing unhealthy snacks yesterday. Kicked myself out of the house so I wouldn't munch. I'm hoping this number won't stick around too long, fingers crossed. Getting a walk in this evening and and have a healthy dinner planned out.
5/11 - 162.6 - There's the drop! Glad yesterday's weight didn't decide to stick around and hopefully doesn't reappear. Drank lots of water yesterday, got a 40 minute walk in while the kids had soccer practice and enjoyed my healthy dinner. Starting to plan weekend meals now so I don't ruin my hard work and and can meet my goal for this round.
5/12 - 160.4 - I don't know where these big drops are coming from but please continue! I've reached my goal at this weight but I'll wait a day or two and make sure it's going to stick around before I set a new goal for this round. Today's been good so far, lots of water, healthy breakfast and lunch but I have a wedding to go to tonight so hopefully I can resist some of the badder but oh so yummy foods. Hope to see a good number tomorrow by continuing good choices today.
5/13 - 160.4 - I'm expecting to see an increase in the next couple days as the food at the wedding was delicious (though I really didn't over eat and I stayed away from dessert) and the open bar was even better so I'm sure the mixed drinks but my over my calories limit. I did do some dancing so hopefully that burnt some of the drink calories off. I was thinking about setting a new goal but I think I'll just try to maintain this weight for the rest of this round. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mothers on here!!
5/14 - 160.4 - Busy day, continuously hungry, storming outside. My bed is calling me.
5/15 - 161.4 - There's the gain I've been expecting to see, not too bad and it's still slightly under my goal for this round so I'm doing pretty good. I just realized I have exactly a month until my anniversary and I want to be around 150 by then so it's time to kick it into high gear. I think I can do it, just have to put my mind to it. Had a late dinner last night so that might also count for the little bit of gain. There's 2 weigh ins left for this round, let's make them count!
5/16 - 160.8 - Kept myself busy after work weeding and planting flowers so I was able to stay out of the kitchen and away from snacking. Excited to be so close to the 150s, it's added motivation to keep eating healthy and working out.

1988 high school graduation 185-190lbs
weight on 1/29/18 = 234.5
round 33 - start=215lbs end 202lbs
round 34 - start = 202 end 192.8lbs stomach empty and bone dry
round 35 - start = 192 end 196lbs
round 36 – 195lbs no change.
Round 37 194lbs start and finish but did see 192 for a couple days
Round 38 –196lbs starting – 194lbs end. I went into this round kinda heavy. Not really counting this as a loss
Round 39 goal – would like to see at least one morning weigh in less than 190# - goal obtained but maybe went a little to far. 187.8lbs ending weight.
Round 40 goal. – consistency
5/8 – 187lbs – this is the second day at this weight. Had fried chicken for lunch in hopes of upping my calories. Ended up fishing instead of having dinner.
5/9 188lbs – had Asian buffet to make up for missing dinner. Also had beer instead of whisky. I think this is a good number. Hope it’s the same tomorrow
5/10 – A very good life long friend (almost my twin) who has the same tendency’s to over indulge in all of life’s vices passed away last night of a heart attack. Only 50 years old. All I can think about is our habits of over eating, Drinking, and smoking.
5/11 – 189 – so much for consistency. 20.5% body fat. I would like to be in the teens.
5/12 – 188lbs - ate well but did have some undocumented nibbling on homemade chicken BBQ for wifes work party.
5/13 – 186lbs – I did not eat right yesterday.
5/14 – 188lbs – yesterday was a big food day. Stick to the plan till vacation.
5/15 – crazy food day yesterday. Had light lunch weighed in 185lbs then late dentist appointment and I was starving. Off the the pub. Cocktails and 2 half pound burgers with ham and bacon. Weight was 191 this morning dressed. Not all bad but not the consistency I wanted this round
5/16 187lbs – back to my starting point. Smile smile smile

5/08 199.4 morning workout done
5/09 199 going to start today with a long walk - I've noticed i feel less hungry on days when I get more exercise. Don't quite understand that. I don't eat back my exercise calories - but it's a win win so I'll take it !
5/10 199 Yesterday was a beautiful day, lots of walking in the sunshine - and a 3 hour choir practice.
5/11 198.8 if slow and steady truly wins the race - I'm in contention.
5/12 198.8 I'm happy with that. Didn't eat as well yesterday. One of my students brought me homemade cranberry and orange scones. Delicious! but, over my calorie and carb goals and now I am having carb cravings. Must stay focused today!
5/13 198.6 NSV Found that a small protein snack and browsing this thread is a great way to wait out the cravings!
5/14 199 A little post mothers day bump - not too bad
5/15 199 Well I thought I had done better than that - but its only one day
5/16 198.8 really need to plan better - ended up with lunch at 3:00 at the food court and cereal for dinner.

5/10--177.0 Oh yeah, I'm liking where this is going! Under calories again yesterday.
5/11--176.6 yes!!!!!!!!!! I technically reached my goal for this round! Ate just over calorie goal yesterday.
5/12--177.2 I'm okay with this. Ate a little over my calories yesterday. Today is my college graduation!!! Going to Pilates this morning and then I just have to make sure not to overindulge at the party my boss is throwing for me.
5/13--Whoops, guess I forgot to weigh in. I also took the day off from logging.
5/14--176.6 Yes! I love seeing this, especially after taking a day off from MFP. Hoping I can keep it up, I have a pretty busy week this week!
5/15--176.6 Two days in a row, woooo! I consider this a win.
5/16--177.4 Darn it anyways. I overate yesterday, I just had the urge to munch all day. Plus not much exercise the last couple of days. Still happy to be in this range and we have Pilates class tonight!

5/08 180.2/I'm excited to start.
5/09 178.0/ I made good choices yesterday, hopefully this trend continues throughout the week!
5/10 177.8/ I've continued to make good choices, I'm hoping the number goes down a little more before the end of the 10 days. I'm hoping to continue with eating better this weekend.
5/11 177.6/ I'm honestly surprised to see this, we ate out last night and I thought based on salt content alone that I would be retaining a little water. We're menu planning our weekend so that we can continue to make good choices.
5/12 179.2/I had a lot of salt yesterday, but I'm still pretty disappointed.
5/13 179.8/ And back up more again today, I'm really disappointed, but my husband thinks I'm just retaining water. I'm trying to be more mindful today and drink lots of water.
5/14 180.2/ Not a great first round, still hoping it's water being retained. It's hot today and I'm having trouble getting my rings on.
5/15 180.4/ After a disappointing few days, I'm coming back with renewed focus today.
5/16 180.2/ At least I'm slowly going back the other way.

I'm considering this round a pivot point since it ends on our move-into-new-house day. I've been lax in my calorie limits, and that's going to stop. I've reset my allowance and am dropping most bread from my diet. I'm also finally getting back to regular walks and weight training. I'm not keen on weight goals since I can't control the scale, but I'm determined to stick to my eating and exercise goals now and will hope to drop a pound per round (3/month) with an eye to hitting my UGW by early December.
Goals:
Weight ~~ UGW - 130; looking for indefinite downward trend each round, ideally 1 pound/round.
Food ~~ 1430 calories max; P 15-25%, C 35-50%, F 30-45%

Day/Weight/Calories Day Before (aiming for 1430 starting 5-8)/Comment
5/8 - 150.8 - 1647 (10-day ave 1791)
First day, new round, revised approach. I'm up a little, no surprise, but I've finally shaken off this horrible cold and most of the cough, so I feel more like walking/exercising. Yay! Happy to see you all!
5/9 - 150.6 - 1256 (10-day ave 1732)
Good day yesterday! I cut my calories without feeling deprived, went for two lovely walks, and started packing. Feeling very positive - and the sunny morning doesn't hurt!
5/10 - 150.6 - 1315 (10-day ave 1653)
A little disappointed not to see a drop but, in fairness, it's only been 2 days since I cut back after a week + of higher calories and my 10-day average is still higher than it should be, so the drop will come. I feel much more in control.
5/11- 150.5 - 1505 (10-day ave 1605)
We were invited to brunch yesterday and I had no idea the strata she served was VERY high in calories - over 900/serving :-( until she sent me the recipe later. Yike! So I went a little over my goal yesterday, although not too bad - 155. Back on track today, although we'll be going out for dinner as our house closing is at 4 o'clock. But I'll watch it!
5/12 - 150 - 1811 (10-day ave 1607)
A bit of a slip yesterday -- Fazolli's for dinner, and yes, I had the breadsticks. So higher calories and a LOT more salt than usual. But we closed on our house - yay! Back on the wagon.
5/13 - 150.2 - 1435 (10-day ave 1517)
Doing better hitting food goals, and my 10-day averages are slowly approaching my daily goal. Weight will follow. I'd be giddy to hit my R39 end weight by the end of this round, but whatever happens, happens.
5/14 - 150 - 1472 (10-day ave 1536)
This all seems completely logical to me, and I'll be interested to see what happens when my 10-day averages are finally more in line with my daily goal. Every day I knock off another higher calorie day when I average - 3 more to go. I've become a data nerd.
5/15 - 150.6 - 1289 (10-day ave 1530)
Well, that's disappointing, but I think this really shows that it isn't just the day or two before that matter, but the longer picture. My calories the past 3 days have been below my estimated TDEE (maintenance) of 1490, but my 10-day average is still a little over that number. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when my average hits and stays at TDEE or lower. And I said this round would be a pivot as I get back to lower calories and more exercise. All good.
5/16 - 150.4 - 1430 (10-day ave 1489)
Finally, my average is (barely) below my estimated maintenance calories. We're moving into our house tomorrow, so we'll be eating out at least part of the time today and tomorrow, but I'll try very hard to stay within bounds. Checking in tomorrow may be a challenge, but I'll try. I was hoping to be in the 140s by the end of this round, but the numbers do make sense, so it's fine. Actually, tracking my 10-day averages has helped me better understand my daily weights. And it's so encouraging to read about all of your success and ups and downs. Thanks!

First Round!
F, 54, 5' 6"
OSW - 186 (March 2018)
5/08 174 - I’ve been stuck between 173 and 175 for 2 weeks. I hope this helps get me to 172.5
5/09 172 - Well that was quick, but knowing my body and my scale, I'll bet I go back up tomorrow.
5/10 172.5 - As expected, I'm a little up this morning. But as long as I can end this round at 172 or 172.5, I'll count this round as a win!
5/11 173.5 - After I cursed at the scale this morning, since I have stayed on plan all week, I threw on a pair of pants I haven't worn in about a month. I knew right away they felt different. Lo and behold, I didn't have my little muffin top! It will be these little things that keep me going through these plateaus.
5/12 172.5 - I'm happy with this. I had pizza for supper tonight so we'll see if the sodium causes a problem tomorrow. I'm still within my calorie limit.
5/13 172 - I'm afraid to get my hopes up, but things look better than last week!
5/14 173 - I'm hoping this bump is because I didn't drink enough fluids yesterday. I'm still averaging better than the last two weeks though.
5/15 173.5 - Here we go again. This makes absolutely no sense. Oh well, I'll see what tomorrow brings.
5/16 172.5 - I had a surprise emergency room visit last night and skipped supper. I only ate 720 calories yesterday. I expected this to be lower this morning, but I'll take it.

Female, 35, 5’6”
Starting weight: 158.2
Goal #1: 150
Ultimate Goal: 135
5/08 – 158.2 I’ve been losing weight for a little bit now, but this is my first time participating in this challenge so I’m going to pretend like it’s day 1 of my weight loss journey. I’m looking forward to the accountability this will provide!
5/09 – 158.6 Yesterday was not a good day on the eating front! I don’t know why I bought that bag of Starbursts, but it was a definitely a mistake. Not doing that again. If I have to have Starbursts, I’ll stick with the smaller packs. It’s a brand new day though and I’m excited about getting back on track.
5/10 – 158.8 I got back on track, but the scale didn’t get the memo! No worries.
5/11 – 159.4 Disappointing after doing really well yesterday staying at my calorie goal. I might try lowering my carbs today to see if that gets things moving in the right direction.
5/12 – 159 Finally moving in the right direction!
5/13 – 158.2 Back to where I started this round! I’ve made pound cake, banana nut bread, and peanut butter cookies over the last couple of days and have managed not to eat over my calorie allotment, so I’m pretty pleased with myself.
5/14 – 157.6 Ate a few more calories than I meant to yesterday, but I was still within my calorie range for the day.
5/15 – 157.8 Carb and sodium heavy day yesterday. It’s not going to get any better today, so I’m expecting to see an increase tomorrow.
5/16 – 158.2 Right back to where I started from! It could have been worse.

•5/11 - 201.2 - No comment on this number until tomorrow.
•5/12- 202 - Had another small decrease in bodyfat. I don't know about accuracy on a body composition scale, but it does give insight to changes in fat/water percentages. I've noticed that when my weight drops and I've lost a bit of fat, the water% goes up. The scales tale behind the whoosh?
So, don't get discouraged if you're doing everything right for yourself. Your body is doing its job keeping everything in balance. It doesn't care if you're frustrated. Your weight is fat, fluid, bone, muscle.
•5/13 - 202
•5/14 - 200
•5/15 - 201.6
•5/16 - 201.2 - Is this the farewell 200's tour body? We have to visit almost each incremental number between 202lbs and 200lbs?

Seeking lower bodyfat%10 -
5/08 - 244 (which is a pound less than yesterday for me). Lowest I've been in way to long sadly, though when I started my weight loss journey (again...) I was 257.8, so I'm happy I'm heading in the right direction at least
5/09 - 243.8 - I've been trying to walk at least a mile on my lunch break around the campus I work at, and at night doing at least 30 min of one of my POUND dvd's. I'd like to start working some Yoga in there too to get more flexible, but feel like I need to lose a tad bit more weight to do most of the moves, so I'm really excited to see my weight go down, no matter how small
5/10 - 243.6 - small loss but better than a small gain. I'm happy as long as it heads in the right direction-small victories are still victories
5/11 - 243.2
5/12 - 242.6
5/13 - 241.2 - was convinced I was actually going to go up since I ate supper kinda late on the 12th, so was pleasantly surprised to see that I had my biggest loss of the week instead.
5/14 - 240 - Oh my gosh I'm so close to being out of the 240 range, and 20 lbs lost....I'm so very excited, especially seeing the small losses this week add up to big change. woohoo!
5/15 - 243.4 - stared at the scale for about 2 minutes demanding the numbers change but no such luck. I'm not to set back by it though, as my 'aunt flo' has come to visit and I binged a bit on Chik-fil-a for supper (Grilled nuggets and super food salad, but also had some waffle fries cause I always crave carbs around this time... But last night aside, time to get back on track and make sure this temporary bump up doesn't become permanent
5/16 - 243.8 - ugh another .4 gain. Unfortunately glaring evilly at my scale didn't change the numbers lol, but I take my measurements today so I'll be interested to see what the inches reflect.
5/17 -8 -

5/08 206.6 Good luck in this challenge, everyone! You can do it!
5/09 206.1
5/10 206.6 My usually dependable scale has gone wonkie today! When I first stepped on it, it gave me a reading about 5 pounds higher than yesterday…so I stepped on it again and it gave me a reading 3 pounds lighter than yesterday. I flipped it over to make sure nothing was sticking to it on the bottom…..but it was still giving me wonkie readings each time. So, I’m hoping it just needs fresh batteries. When I’m out and about today, I’ll pick some up. Hopefully I won’t be needing a new scale because I really like this one. Anyway, I’m putting today’s weight the same as my start weight for this challenge. Sleeping at my nurse daughter’s tonight to take care of her kids so no weighing in tomorrow AM. I’ll be back to weigh in on Saturday AM. Till then, be good everyone!
5/11 No scale this AM
5/12 205.2 Ok….scale with fresh batteries no longer acting wonkie…and I’m home. True test to my commitment to losing weight….we had pizza for dinner last night and I only ate 1 slice! Best part...I was satisfied with just 1 slice….didn’t even think about having another. Win!
5/13 205.0 Happy Mother’s Day!!
5/14 204.6
5/15 204.0 Inching my way downward.
5/16 203.6 Looking forward to the next round already. I should be close to getting under 200 by then. If not the next round, then the one after that. BTW….today marks 6 weeks for me here on mfp. Down 17.1 pounds. I never took before pics….too darn depressing, lol. But, I’ve lost 2.5 inches from my bust, 3 inches from my waist, 2.5 inches from my belly, 2 inches from my hips, and 1.5 inches from my thigh. I’m impressed by my progress. Mind you, no one in my family has noticed that I’ve lost weight yet, but I see it. Supposedly it takes 8 weeks for friends and family to notice? We’ll see if that happens!

Age 60, 5'4.5" and eating in a livable way = It's. Not. A. Diet. I eat back exercise calories, or I would be starving and cranky. Hubby does not like cranky me. Changed MFP setting 5/5/18 to 1/2# per week loss ~ within 10# of UGW, weight loss had stalled 3 months + was feeling hungry more often.
MFP SW 195 ~ Goals: #1 = 150 / #2 = 145 [normal BMI] / #3 = maintain 140 - 145 / no goal dates ~ I get there when I get there

My digital scale only has 1/2# increments, and I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale. Weigh first thing in morning / comments reflect prior day.

05/03: 154.0 Fitbit 7,411 steps, 250+ 12/14 (spa night) & 25 floors. Stuck with meal/snack plan except finished snappea crisps for evening snack (unplanned) ~ net calories -208, sodium -358, fiber ok, sugar green, protein good & 15c water. Close enough for unplanned rest day (overslept alarm).
05/04: 154.5 Evening social event & self-control not so much... Oh well, oops. At least I got up from table to remove myself from further damage. No idea how to log some, used quick add... needless to say net calories, sodium & sugar all RED. 15c water anyway. Walked dog before work / 3.4 mi 59:49 pace 17:34 / happy dog & happy me. Fitbit 15,969 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom!) & 35 floors ~ hoping I can move up the leaderboard of workplace step challenge.
05/05: 153.5 Weight machine & circuit training before work and increased my minutes slightly. Fitbit 8,226 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 (volunteer host = sitting) & 30 floors. Net calories -273, sodium & sugar red, fiber & protein good, 14c water.

05/08: 154.0 Did ok all day, stuck w/ prelogged meals & snacks, and net calories w/i limit... then late evening snacking on walnut halves ~ ack!!! Really liking my new calorie limit, but need to figure out what to do about snack attacks ~ I never used to. Rest day ~ Fitbit 10,194 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 & 30 floors. Raked part of front yard after work ~ so many whirlybirds ~ that was a good arm workout!
05/09: 154.0 Yes! Stuck pretty much w/ prelogged meals, snacks + one curveball. Net calories green, sodium red (leftover Chinese food), sugar -13 (some fruit, power muffin, but also unplanned small portion of ice cream cake in office for manager's granddaughter's 5th bday ~ don't get me started!), fiber & protein good & 17c water ~ actually felt thirsty! 05/10: 153.5 I think changing my MFP setting to 1/2# per week, and having more net calories to play with, is agreeing with me. Net calories -15, sodium -721, sugar -19 (mostly fruit, power muffin & yogurt), fiber excellent, protein good & 14c water. Walked dog before work in off + on sprinkles + beat the rain / 3.43 mi 1:01:05 / remembered to stretch. Fitbit 16,489 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom!) & 46 floors. Workplace step challenge ~ currently in 31st place / top 30 women get prize at 10-week point... too bad leader board combines men & women, and everyone is listed by code number with no gender identification.
05/11: 154.0 Net calories -85, sodium -517, sugar -13, fiber & protein good & 14c water. Walked dog after work 3.42 mi 59:43. Fitbit 13,538 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 & 41 floors.
05/12: 153.5 Rest day / Fitbit 9,134 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 & 33 floors. Net calories -156, sodium green (yay), sugar -12, protein good, fiber excellent & 14c water, so not too bad for rest day.
05/13: 154.0 Walked dog 3.81 mi 1:06:24 pace 17:25 / remembered to stretch. Fitbit 16,035 steps, 250+ steps 10/14 & 29 floors. Ate ice cream after dinner. Oops. Net calories -191, sodium -594, sugar -12, fiber & protein good. Oh well, it was an active day.
05/14: 153.5 Walked dog 4.36 miles 1:16:38 pace 17:34 ~ happy dog & happy me. Fitbit 18,600 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 & 33 floors. Dinner plans had to be changed b/c something I thought I had in freezer - not! Still managed to keep net calories & sugar green, sodium red, fiber & protein a little low, 14c water.
05/15: 153.0 Weight machine & circuit training before work. Fitbit 14,642 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom!) & 18 floors ~ observation fieldwork = lots of steps. Net calories green (yay), sodium -673, sugar -32 (had no idea baked beans would be so high / may have screwed up glucose reading ~ ack!), fiber & protein excellent & 14c water. [5/15/18 annual workplace Health Risk Assessment at 8:15 a.m. (fasting blood draw)]
05/16: 152.5 Rest day since couldn't eat or work out before HRA / nurses were impressed by my changes since last year. Had to promote MFP & my MFP community, of course ~ I couldn't have done it without you! Fitbit 7,694 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 & 28 floors. Net calories -142 (not too bad for rest day), sodium green (YAY), sugar -3, fiber & protein a little low & 13c water.

5/16 - 191.8 - Went for a small walk yesterday, ended up with blisters because I did it at lunch and wasn't wearing the right shoes. Next time will be planned, but it sure helped with the KFC I had for lunch yesterday.

I am in a world of mess with my eating habits! I have been here before and have to dig deep. Today is a lost cause. Not logging well, because I am not eating well. YIKES!!! A vicious cycle. I hope tomorrow will be better!
5/15 141# I am going in the wrong direction! The struggle is real. I just read a great quote "Get fit in the gym. Lose weight in the kitchen". Hopefully i will be headed in the right direction in the next few days, as this round ends!
