    @rparkerslim those carbs are causing your body to send out insulin and then when the rush is over you experience a crash and cravings. Over the long haul this creates insulin resistance and eventually diabetes in many people. There are no essential carbohydrates as our body can convert protein into glucose if your brain needs fuel. I was diagnosed with insulin resistance about 30 years ago and placed on a very strict diet. Wish I had stayed on that, and not regained what I lost plus some. I love Keto and have no cravings now. My knees also no longer hurt which is a benefit that I was not expecting!
