@jilliancreates I don’t remember if you are doing keto, sorry if this doesn’t apply. If you are, you want to hit your protein macro not calories. Target = protein, Limit = carbs, Lever = fat. I used to frequently eat fat to avoid over eating because it keeps you satisfied. I didn’t pay much attention to calories. Since I am fat adapted, I am frequently 200 or more calories below the number my app has assigned. I was driving myself crazy for awhile trying to match ALL of the numbers including calories. Sorry this is so long.

@curvycaloriess Not to discourage you but that you might be well informed. All of those “free” foods can add up to a LOT of calories. I know that when they made fruit free several years ago, NO ONE ever told me that only X number of servings were allowed as free. When a local staff person explained the new program on the news in December, she said, “If it’s dinner time and you have run out of points, you can still eat whatever you want from the free foods list.” There have to be limits but, again, that was never mentioned. I am a Lifetime member (from 1986 and 2009) finally back at goal thanks to Keto.

@mustb60 One thing I have learned from daily weighing is that it takes my scale 2-3 days to reflect my eating choices. Good or bad.

@Fat2FitMom19 Why the frown when your weight went down? Or is my dyslexia kicking in.

@tiabirdie56 My neighbor told me about Hyland’s Leg Cramps. I take 2 every morning. It’s homeopathic and either it works or an odd coincidence that when I forgot yesterday I started having cramps again. There is also a night time formula. I get it at Walmart. I already take magnesium and potassium twice daily.

@puddlegoober Yesterday on my of my Keto FB groups a lady was complaining about her husband not liking the way she eats. Several people replied with what is my advice to you. You know what works for you. So do it. My husband has finally almost crossed over to my side after 10 months. His mom was a good pusher. “Just a bite won’t hurt you.” Uhh, YES, yes it will.” It could start a downward spiral. I ate a sugar loaded dessert near the end of the cruise and I think I may finally be over the “boy, I wish I had a cookie” feeling. Stand up for what you know. Okay, lecture over. OMG, I’ve turned into a Keto fanatic.

This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

5/18 138.5 Well not surprised. Yesterday was our 48th wedding anniversary and my 10 month Ketoversary. Down 30# We attended a dinner party last night and there was sugar in everything - at least that was the way it felt/tasted. My ketones are low (0.5) but still present.
5/19 138.5 Lovely grilled dinner at Red Lobster. Ate my little lobster tail, a few shrimp, and two bites of salmon. Also salad with blue cheese dressing and 3/4 of a cheddar biscuit. Those biscuits no longer taste good to me. Strawberries and whipped cream for dessert when we got home. Breakfast with lady friends at 8 AM today. Have I mentioned lately that I am not a breakfast person? :# I ate about 1/4 of my omelet which was relatively tasteless in spite of Monterrey Jack cheese and lots of green chilies.
5/20 139.0 WTH??? I suspect there were hidden carbs in that omelet are causing me to retain water because I really didn’t overeat. Also was way below on water. UGH!
5/21 138.0 When I pointed out to DH this morning that I had brought home breakfast potatoes on Saturday he said “we don’t eat those anymore.” Whoo hoo, he is coming to a more Keto WOE!

@quiltingjaine I appreciate your fanaticism. It helps balance out all the energy trying to push me in the opposite direction. Thank you!!!

Thanks for sharing! I essentially do Primal and my percentage ratios are 20/30/50 (protein, carbs, fat). This puts my goals roughly around 70g/100g/80g, but fat is the main goal. It makes it easy to use a fat bomb to make up calories. For my size, 1400 calories is already pretty low, so I really try not to short it even more.

@quiltingjaine to @puddlegoober, "OMG, I've turned into a keto fanatic" LOL. You can't help it when you know it works. No one has ever influenced me to eat something I don't want or shouldn't have. I don't know why, but that irritates people.

Thank you for the tip about Hyland's Leg Cramps! I will definitely buy it to have on hand. Leg cramps are the devil! Last night was a pretty mild one, but I've had them (not since starting keto) so bad and prolonged that when it's finally over, my muscle is very sore and tender.
I wish my DH would do keto. He went on Medifast, again. I really hate that diet. He says it works for him. I agree, that he can lose a ton of weight quickly, but he never learns HOW to eat properly. I'm glad to hear that your DH is coming around to keto woe. :)
