Round 42: My first round
SW: 186.8
RGW: 183.8
UGW: 130
R42 SW: 186.6 EW:
Day/Weight/Comment
5/28 – 185.8: This is surprising because I indulged in pizza and wings last night. I’m sure those will show up on the scale tomorrow.
5/29 – 185.4: I was so excited to get on the scale this morning! Went for an hour long walk last night, which was a victory for me. I’ve been really depressed for months and haven’t had the energy to do much. Really, really happy that I made the effort. Didn’t eat my exercise calories either. Glad to see a slight downward trend. I’m not the most consistent person in the world, so I’m really hoping that doing small chunks of time will work for me. Made good breakfast choices even though I went grocery shopping on an empty stomach. Good luck everyone for a healthy and active day.

I started this challenge at round 27, at 227.8. I ended round 38 at 194. That is a 33 pound loss! I love this challenge! It goes against everything I USED to believe about weighing in daily, and has taught me to really listen to my body, not get discouraged by small set backs, and to celebrate the small victories!
So I stayed in the 180's in the last round barely. I totally missed the last few days of the last challenge, weighed my self everyday, and truly thought I had recorded it LOL until I looked today. I think this time of year, truly is TOO busy. But, I am back and ready to go!

I’m in. Was feeling so much slimmer – and then I looked at my weight report for the last year and realized I was 162 one year ago … so since Feb. I’ve lost the weight that I gained the 8 months previous. The reports don’t go back that far but I think that I joined when I was freaking out about hitting 160 in 2015. All of this just reminded me how much we adjust to a new “normal” and to a) realize I’m not slim, better than I was but still much, much to go, so don’t get sloppy in my new habits b) celebrate the little victories but also keep an eye on the long term goal.

I'm back, finally. Moving is chaos! Anyway, I have new goals for this round and beyond, and no more excuses.

Exercise: minimum 60 minutes/day of vigorous exercise; long walk/hike each week in a new-to-me or long-time-no-see place to get reacquainted with the area.

I'm putting the Keto experiment on hold because, in a lot of ways, I'm not feeling all that good right now. I'm going to stay at a much lower carb intake, integrating some fruits and vegetables while continuing to focus on eating healthy fats (instead of the crap I used to eat). I'm going to stay away from processed sweets and crappy processed snack foods.

Total loss (since 1/14/18, but before this round): 26.0 lbs
Average weight loss per round: 1.95 lbs
R42 SW = 194.0, SBF% = 15.5
Goals for this round: maintain current weight (do not go over 195) as I take as break from from Keto. Track my BF% consistently.
Day/Weight/Comment
5/28 = 192.2 (-1.8), BF% = 15.5. I got started a little later than usual today, so this might not be perfectly accurate, but it should be pretty close. Last night wasn't impulsive. I'm definitely taking a break from Keto. I'm trying to decide which carb number I should shoot for. I'm thinking 100, but I'm going to do some reading. I wasn't very consistent last round with tracking my body fat percentage. I'm going to commit to tracking it every day.
5/29 = 194.2 (+2.0), BF% = 15.7. Got a little too "snacky" yesterday. Ate when I wasn't hungry. Allowed myself to eat a couple of things I haven't been able to eat in the past few weeks. Went about 300 calories over maintenance. That being said, as mentioned yesterday, my weight likely wasn't all that accurate when I weighed myself yesterday (weighed myself at the "correct time" today). My goal for today is to remember only to eat when I feel hungry. I tracked everything yesterday, so that was good. I'm feeling okay. This is actually not feeling like a cause for alarm. Rather, it's a signal that I need to be paying attention to how I'm feeling and what I'm eating right now.

R42 SW 173.6 lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
5/28 --173.6 lbs --Just got back from vacation, so this weight actually feels pretty good and I am proud of myself for making healthy choices along the way!
5/29 -- 173.6 lbs – Made a new recipe last night that was delicious. Pan seared pork chops in a tablespoon of olive oil (salt, pepper, Italian seasoning). Chopped up red cabbage and spinach salad with homemade vinegarette (olive oil, apple cidar vinegar, honey, mustard, salt, pepper) and goat cheese. Sweet potato fries (I can’t resist!) seasoned with Old Bay. I used the left overs and added them inside a whole wheat wrap for lunch today (~430 calories)!

I think being at home is tougher than being at the office in terms of food choices. Stayed on plan and for me 0.4 is a blip. I will be traveling for work this week and will need to be focused on good food choices.
I couldn't agree more. I find it much easier to stay on plan at work. While some days I get so busy I have to remind myself to eat, I'm not as prone to snacking as I am at home.

@cjsacto congrats on your goal, this is awesome!
@mlhopp93 and @efurlong8183 omg me too, at work somehow it's easier. Maybe because at work, I know it isn't expected to be "fun" lol.2 -

I'm a retired teacher....and I heartily agree being home makes it a lot tougher to stay within calorie goals and avoid snacking. That's why I like days I have errands to do or things to do that get me out of the house and away from my kitchen and pantry. What's even harder for me....I have grandchildren. 12 of them. Ages 4 1/2 to college age. Plus 8 of them are boys ages 5 - 13. Very active boys. I always have food/snacks in the house because a day doesn't go by that one or a lot more of them are at our house. If it were just DH and myself, it would be a lot easier because he's not a snacker, except for maybe pretzels. It takes a lot of will-power on my part to make good healthy decisions on what and how much I'm going to eat every day.4 -
