Someone dropped off some chocolates, biscuits, pizza, cake etc leftovers in the staffroom today and said, take some! So I did but not for me - for my husband and kids! This other woman who has been moaning about her lack of weight loss took a whole load of chocolate for herself!15

I’ve had two today:
1) put on an outfit I normally wear regularly but somehow haven’t for a while. As soon as I got dressed I went “oh wow, that’s loose” and realised how differently it fit me.
2) got mum and dad takeout for dinner, served it all out, ate one chip then didn’t blink not having another one. Didn’t feel deprived, didn’t feel annoyed or even like I was mentally or physically craving more. I had one, I enjoyed it, then I moved on. I’m loving how little control food has over me now.27 -
I ran 10k today, for the second time in my life. And I finally see my body changing, even though the scale is lagging behind28

i did my first chin up in 5 years yesterday33

What a difference a year makes!
First photo is May 2017 - I was already down 50 lbs from my starting weight and feeling pretty good about myself, wearing my new walking shoes because I was newly healthy enough to enjoy walking, and all new cheap clothes because none of my old ones would fit.
Second photo taken yesterday, May 2018, after running 5k through the woods. My husband and I were doing our cool off walk when I realized we were in the same spot where we took a photo last year. Whereas last year I was new to walking, now I am a regular runner! I own running shoes and running clothes! I have a chin! And I have mostly gotten rid of my big old belly!

Another one that I just remembered-Sunday I put on a pair of peep toed bootie style shoes that I haven’t worn in a while. My feet were swimming in them and I had to buckle them tighter around the ankle/heel. Didn’t expect to lose in my feet since they never seemed wide even at my highest weight. I’ll take it though! lol16

@workinonit
Wohoo!!! And yes, the feet shrinking thing is so unexpected. As we lose fat, we know that clothing sizes are going to go down.....but feet, that's always surprising. I went down an entire shoe size. It's only a little bit frustrating as my shoes were the one thing I didn't think I'd have to replace.15 -
My collar bones are finally showing!!18

That may have been me. I’m still trying to figure out how I’m meant to shave all this weird shaping. If you’ve figured it out, I’m all ears!
The only thing I've found so far that helps is putting my arm all the way behind my head. Kinda fills it out more I suppose5 -
@VUA21 I know! Clothes are one thing, shoes could get expensive plus I really love my shoes. lol6

Was happy to put my favourite rain jacket on today as it has always made me feel slender only to realize I’m swimming in it now... so yay kind of but darn at the same time lol13

I forgot to pack my lovely new gym kit this morning and only discovered the oversight when I got to BodyCombat.
And then I almost had a toddler meltdown because I'd been really looking forwards to that class, dammit!
...wait, I actually enjoy HIIT? Actively want to do it? Started planning a nice uphill hike tomorrow to make up for missing it?
Well *kitten*, I guess I'm a completely different person these days. A BETTER one. I can be happy about that27 -
Went to the doctor for a theee-month check-up today, and was a little nervous because my eating hasn’t been as good as it was and I have been lax about exercising since my last appointment. (Lots of parties and other social events, traveling, etc.) I’ve lost weight, but not as much as I was hoping to have lost by now.
To my surprise, all my vitals were still normal and had dropped a little since the last appointment (except my good cholesterol, which went up slightly). Yes! Especially happy my A1C is still normal and the pre-diabetic range is getting farther away in the rear-view mirror!
Also, the nurse practitioner kept saying how proud she was. So now I’m super motivated to get back to basics, eating as well and exercising as much as I was when I started my journey, and having a mic-drop moment at my next check-up!
CORRECTION: My blood glucose is still in the pre-diabetic range (100-125) at 107. So I think that went up a little, too. So I have some work to do!23 -
Also, I've exercised a few times in the last week (getting back on track), and noticed that my shoes are loose, no matter how tight I tie them. Not sure if my sneakers were stretched out, or I need a size smaller ...15

I've been slowly losing over the last 6 months, and today is the first day someone outside my immediate circle of people has noticed. I got "Wow, You lost weight, you look good. How did you do it??" "Counting my calories, and exercising," I told her! Also, instead of waiting till I hit goal to get a badly needed haircut, I'm getting one next week as a reward for actually working towards it for 6 months, and not quitting 3 months ago.

Granny Got Game!
First Dead Lift Goal, achieved!
4 reps at 135. (8 reps at 125)
Not bad for a 53 year old less fat chick!38 -

Probably a size smaller. It's the one thing that I was most surprised to have to do losing weight. I knew I'd have to replace clothes... But shoes!!! Yep, feet can get smaller too. All that extra weight is no longer spreading them out. I went down nearly an entire shoe size.9 -
Yesterday I had an appointment with a surgeon regarding upcoming surgery. He explained the procedure in detail and, as part of the explanation, referred to the subcutaneous fat layer - and this is a direct quote - "of which you have very little". Definite NSV and a reminder to me that losing weight has had a positive, ongoing effect on my general health. I have been struggling to lose the last 3 - 4 lbs over the past 6+ months and this was actually rather re-motivating.30

Last night I had a small victory involving some Oreos I bought months ago during a refeed/maintenance break.
I ate 4 of them. Why is that a victory? Because a year ago I would have eaten 4 (or maybe more) because 1 Oreo would most definitely not have been enough. But I ate 4 last night because I needed more calories in my day to avoid MFP's "you need to eat at least 1200 calories, we don't encourage eating disorders, etc." message.
Oh and the fact that the Oreos have stayed in this house longer than a few days is a NSV in itself.24 -

That is great! I would likely plant a big fat kiss on my Dr's cheek if he told me that!8 -

All your hard work shows!! And you look so much younger17 -
I had to buy new workout shorts. I work out in soccer/futbol shorts as women's shorts are WAY to short (especially if you have a big butt -Latin heritage) and men's shorts are capris (seriously, they fall to the calf...). So, my old shorts were an XL, and the drawstring situation was getting a bit ridiculous. I tried on a medium just to see and they are perfect!!!! Wohoo.16

Long week, not feeling it after a morning in the pool with the kids. Showed up at the gym anyway and decided to play a bit since it was pretty deserted. ended up with 2x160 on squats after 5 sets and 2x165 on deadlifts after 4 sets. Up 15 and 20lbs, respectively! Excited for next week when I can maybe find someone to spot me on squats!13

So I had a bit of a... Situation this week. I was wearing shorts and they practically fell off of my body. I didn't think to put a belt on with them, thinking there was no way I'd need it bc I'd didn't lose that much, right? Well, apparently I was wrong. My shorts were hanging so low it was embarrassing, but at least I know I'm making progress.28

After dropping 38 pounds my avg bicycling speed is up about 3mph. Averaged 16.3 mph over 30 miles.22

I exercised every day I planned to this week, and even though I wasn't really feeling it today, I still did it.22

No longer wanting to eat so much. I can now say NO to seconds, thirds, and sometimes fourths. Im putting aside whats left on my plate for another snack or meal later in the day or the next day.25

I just had to tighten my activity tracker by a notch because it was slipping around my wrist It’s been some week for NSV’s for me!!21

Today I was out shopping and noticed for the first time that I actually look slimmer than I used to. I've been losing weight pretty steadily and have had to get rid of some stuff that looks hilariously large, but today was the first time that I looked in the mirror and thought I looked a lot different from what I used to look like. So of course I had to buy the dress I was trying on that sparked the revelation23
