Success/struggles of the week: Hi everyone! I am so so so so excited to be here on this thread after many months of creeping. I have quietly shifted over to maintenance after almost two years of weight loss. Last week I was struggling to even get myself to log (unusual for me) but I am back at it this week -- my first official week in maintenance. I do enjoy having a nice weight range to stick to, as opposed to always trying for that lower weight. I wish you all the best in your maintenance journeys!13 -

Success/struggles of the week: i haven't posted for a few weeks, although i am still reading everyone's posts. It have been rough few weeks for me, i eat ok but snacks are killing me. Can't seem to stop. With kids at home for a bit it's much more difficult, as we eat a little different/more/ more of higher calorie foods with them, so there's not much room for snacks left, and yet i can't control my cravings. Also, it rained non-stop last few weeks, so I can't find time to ride, therefore eating extra with no exercise, equals weight gain. I am going to slowly work my way down to the lower end of my range. I'm actually up 6 lbs in a last month. And i feel it too. Not happy with myself at all.9 -
Thanks for starting the thread @stephenearllucas . I do hope @fidangul is ok.
I posted this in the May thread, but I am going to move it here just to be consistent.

Success/struggles of the week:
I already posted this in the may thread but I’ll re post! My weight seemed like it was creeping up in may (up to 157.1) but this last weekend was 155.4 so I was pretty happy about that. I also got my Fitbit back out and decided to start wearing it again just for fun. Turns out I’m burning more calories than I thought. I’ve been aiming for 1700-2000 calories and yesterday, my first time wearing the Fitbit, it said I burned 2300. And I didn’t work out as long as I normally do.6 -

Successes/struggles of the week: I am technically unemployed as of this morning. Had my team farewell and my company farewell party over the last few days to say goodbye to my many coworkers... So many kind words and stories shared this week. I know I will be missed and leadership made it clear that the door is open if I ever want to return.
Chapter closed... new chapter begins Tuesday! Now the trick is to not eat my feelings this weekend out of anxiety over what’s to come! It’s a tremendous opportunity in a new industry in a new city so lots to research just to ease my mind before Day 1.
Have a great week everyone!13 -

Success/struggles of the week: working on not over indulging on snacks and getting some exercise. Small steps, but not a bad week. That trend number is so slow to go down, lol. Just read an article on eating disorders, https://theconversation.com/eating-disorders-are-hard-to-overcome-but-ditching-diets-is-crucial-96078? And honestly, really, those are the suggestions? According to this i have an eating disorder, i step on the scale daily, i read nutrition labels, i control what i eat, darn! really??? Where will i, or probably most of us will be if we did what article suggest? Jeesh, idk. It's depressing, actually. I don't think of myself as the one with eating disorder, i eat great variety of food from all food groups, i eat healthy, three meals plus snacks and try to be reasonable, but it still falls into disordered thinking. I know it won't work for me, that's what got me to be fat most of my life, bunch of rubbish, imho.4 -
Yeah @icemom011 I read that too as it was in a community thread and I reacted just like you.
Felt to me like recommendations meant for people with UNDEReating disorders was presented by the writer as if it was for everyone, in order to further normalize not paying attention to weight.2 -

Success/struggles of the week: Just trending along at 119. My weight is usually up and down within a 2 pound range and the trend weight is staying pretty steady so I guess all is good. I tried to donate blood last week and was turned away because my iron was too low. That is really unusual for me so I'm a little worried about that. But I have my yearly physical set up for Wednesday so I will talk to the doc and see if it was a fluke or something that I need to do something about. I'm not really looking forward to the visit as I just turned 50 and I know they will want me to set up a colonoscopy. I'm not really looking forward to the prep on that.9 -

Successes/struggles of the week: yo, I'm the one who is eating to benefit my liver: keeping saturated fat and sugar/substitutes on the LOW, LOW, and eating lots of vegetables (and a modest amount of fruit) for a constant wash of nutrients, and lots of fiber. I have been doing this just over 5 weeks now, and am down an astonishing (to me) 5 lbs. Sure that is attributable to the good old CICO theory that most of us base our assumptions on, but I believe I am also indebted to the healthy liver theory - eating specifically to discourage the liver from storing fat in the liver (either true fat, or the fat that the liver itself transforms excess sugar into). I'm feeling very good mentally and physically.
Thanks for sharing your successes and struggles. I read them with great interest, and wish you all the very best. Really awesome the way we keep at things, no matter what, through thick and thin. How could I ever throw in the towel, knowing y'all do that!12 -

1st June: 119.5lbs
8th June: 118.9lbs (Low due to some banking and low sodium.)
15th June: 119lbs (Low due to some banking and low sodium.)
Successes of the week: Still a mix of good and bad days. Mostly good ones, however over on cals for the week. Wanted to save cals for weekend, but seriously binged Thursday and killed that. Looked back at last summer. Staying at an average of 2K/day (low weekdays, Saturday splurge) kept my weight pretty stable, so trying to get back there again (Been more like 2300-2400 cals last few months.)
I am starting to menu plan more by activity level and for my GERD, but still wanting that evening emotional pile-on of foods that comfort yet hurt.
Fabulous news: Younger son secured $7400 in scholarships. That leaves a more manageable number for him this year. Still have almost a new car worth of student loans for just next year between the two of them, though, and will only go up from there.
Challenges of the week: Overtiredness helped set up a monster binge Thursday night. I was doing much better. Had 3 good days in a row and was hoping to get 6 this time.
FIL home but very fragile. Going to spend Wednesdays with him to keep company and house. End of school year crazy is growing exponentially!! LOL Going to miss my little darlings over the summer!!

Success/Struggles: odd Full time shift (12pm to 8pm) means trying to fit 16:8 IF into weird week day eating schedule- especially since eating heavy meal too late in the day brings back my acid reflux. Trying to find some balance is difficult right now. The hunger demons and light night snack demons are nipping at my heals all the time, now, it seems.

Successes/struggles of the week: OMG! Love my new job! It’s everything I thought it would be and more.
To keep up on exercise: The 4-story on-site gym is two blocks up the street and it’s very reasonably priced, so doubly happy. I am thoroughly enjoying the opportunities to explore the city on walk breaks with my co-workers or solo runs after work. I also put in a request for a standing desk so I can bring my step machine to work, too, for those cold or rainy days.
To keep up on food: Still a work in progress. I’ve got lunch and dinner covered, but I am still trying to figure out a good, high protein “make ahead” breakfast on the go that will keep me full until lunch. I have a Starbucks and CVS directly below my office, so easy access to snacks are going to be a constant struggle.
So much to still figure out on the personal front - where to live long term, what degree program to take next, and do any of my fitness goals change at all as a result of this transition? Nothing I can solve for right now; just things I want to be aware of as I continue on this journey.
Have a wonderful week, my friends!10 -

Successes of the week:
MFP seems to work better for me than WW, so I'm back to MFP tracking after 2 months of trying w/WW. Tracked all week. It seems more scientific. Eating 1 raspberry counts in MFP as does an ear of corn or a can of beans. On WW corn, beans, fruit, veggies, plain yogurt are not tracked.
We'll see how that goes with MFP. The price is right anyway.
Struggles of the week:
Was advised to stay off foot and rest, due to pinched nerve or something, so almost no WO and can't go for walks. Am waiting to see GP on Thursday or Friday to get further suggestions. Allergies yesterday. Thank goodness for antihistamines.8 -
