The past two weeks have been rough with the passing of my mother-in-law and funeral arrangements and travel. But I'm getting back on track this week and staying the course!2 -

Food has always been my drug of choice. There is nothing physical about losing weight to me. It’s all a mental game. It’s whether or not I see myself worthy of actually taking care of myself and doing this for me. Been stuck for a month. Time to get serious about doing this for myself. I want to love myself and feel good about myself. I want to be able to take a full length phot lo and think “ dang I look good, or I have really come a long way”. Right now all I feel is disgust and disappointment.4

Hey guys. Just found this thread. I’ve got to lose 100 lbs too. I started back in end of March at 265. I’m now at 235 but that was as of 2 weeks ago. Weighing in tomorrow. It would be nice to be on a thread with people who understand this massive goal I’m trying to obtain. My goal weight is 165. So let’s see how tomorrow goes.5

Note, I took nearly a year off of tracking to do a recomp and let my skin catch up a bit. Gained a grand total of 6lbs in a year, pants size went down a size though.
So yeah, 100lbs is a very achievable goal.
My secret: I stopped dieting. Keto, IF, Paleo, Adkins, low-fat, South Beach..... None of them, because what happens when we reach a goal and go back to "normal" eating. Did that for a decade, down 50, up 50, down 50, up 75, down 50, up 100..... You have to change, in order to change. Slowly change your lifestyle to where your "normal" is your maintenance at goal. That's it. I made my "normal" eating and exercise habits into the same as if I were to track at maintenance.
Feel free to add me and pick my brain for all there weird stuff that does work, and the myriad of stuff I learned (usually the hard way) that doesn't work.4 -

Woohoo! Working on it. I've been cleaning up my eating a lot. I still have a couple of indulgences here and there but my diet is now 70% ish plant based foods 25% meat/dairy and then dropped the "crap" food down to about 5%. I like the way I feel better now! Gonna keep it going. -Charity4 -

I’m so happy to join this 100 pound challenge!
My goal is to lose a total of 115 pounds in a year. My motivation is not just the health problems that being so overweight are causing me, but I’m also motivated by the physical discomfort caused by this weight. I have multiple orthopedic disabilities and I have arthritis, too, so being this big is seriously limiting my ability to participate fully in life.
I began logging my food, and I began working on changing my eating habits (this time), a few days ago. I’m using a Mediterranean Diet framework and have set a goal to eliminate processed foods and added sugars / empty carbs.

Today is the first time that I really feel discouraged in this process of losing weight. I guess what I'm doing is just not working. I need to change my strategy. All year I've been hovering around the same weight. I want to cry about it but I'm not because that won't change anything. I'll just pray about it and figure out a different plan.
