@girlinahat Serious respect for that terrain! Um, the medal with the guy with the club, ummm whats the red bicycle seat supposed to be. See, I'm childish and it looks like c0ck and balls. Im diggin' it though.
I haven't read the race report yet because I'm trying to figure this out. *Giggle*
ETA i tell ya. I sure needed that laugh. Today was kind of day i felt i needed an antidepressant. Nope just a cockand balls giggle.2 -
@Elise4270 this race is PERFECT for those with childish giggling sense of humours. The ‘bicycle seat’ is EXACTLY what you think it is. The man with the club is the Cerne Abbas Giant, a massive chalk figure carved into a hill. His massive c@ck is famous.
Every piece of merchandise associated with the race bears a willy, lots of willy talk and even bags saying ‘I love willies’. It’s all in good humour and pretty much sums up the race!
The ‘bicycle seat’ on the medal is supposed to spin. On mine, it’s a bit stiff so I’ll need to give it a good rub to get it into action.12 -
@girlinahat -Wow, that sounds like a pretty epic race in all regards, including that medal. Is that 3 dimensional? Does it move? It's very interesting. Congrats to you on outrunning that sweeper. It sounds like it wasn't an easy task for most involved. I ran my first trail race this weekend and I have a new respect for you guys. My course was only 10 miles, had far less elevation (although it was described as quite technical by some of the experienced runners I talked to) and it kicked my butt! I can only imagine how you were feeling afterwards. FWIW, I swore off marathons after my first as well (and pretty much every one thereafter). Give it a few weeks and all of that pain will be a distance memory replaced by unicorns and rainbows. You will be back to seek revenge on that TomTom before you know it. Congrats on a job well done!!1

Awesome race report @girlinahat !0

Omg! @girlinahat you're my hero! I have to run this race with you. Next year?1

@girlinahat - loved the race report. Groaned when I saw the elevation map and love the picture of you almost smiling!
This though made me laugh out loud!girlinahat wrote: »@Elise4270 this race is PERFECT for those with childish giggling sense of humours. The ‘bicycle seat’ is EXACTLY what you think it is. Also I think I need some of the merch from that race - it sounds like so much fun! No, I don't want to run it with you and @Elise4270 next year. I just want the 'I love willies' bag!1 -
Wow that sounds brutal @girlinahat! Great race report! And I definitely love the medal hahaha...0

Well, that was quite a race, @girlinahat! Epic indeed - epically brutal and you are one tough cookie. Congrats on conquering that beast. LOL on the medal and it's...stiffness. Maybe some lubrication would get that appendage spinning. Anyway...truly impressed by your strength and willpower to get this done. (And the guy with the broken wrists - good grief, it really was a run for nutcases )

Another short run before circuit training this morning. Very cool morning so I wished I would have left earlier to get in a longer run. I know in a few days when it's 90 degrees I'll be very sorry about that.

@girlinahat That race sounds awesome...and who wouldn't want a medal with a spinning willy that glows in the dark?
Managed to get a run in without being called for on-call support, so just 45 more miles now to get in before Sunday to make goal.
Not sure why my heart rate was through the roof during the run though. Could've been the temperature. Or the humidity. Or the snake we almost trod on. Dunno.

Ugh, it has been a hectic last few days, so no runs since middle of last week. I was planning to run tonight after work, but a nasty storm has been moving through, so my plan is to get on track tomorrow and hopefully run the remainder of the week to meet my goal for the month.
The recent race reports are crazy! I’ve been looking for something fun and local as I prep for my marathon, but I haven’t seen anything good lately.2 -
2 terribly slow (even for me) miles.
I did a bench press workout when I was at home yesterday, for the first time in the months I’ve been traveling. And my chesticles were terribly sore, and I wasn’t real spunky even if I could have swung my arms... and then allergies got me too... uggh, gotta remember to dose those BEFORE I run, and not after. Oops
27 for the month.9 -
Tried another outdoor run this evening and feel like I failed miserably. It was nice enough out, in the 70s and low humidity, but apparently that's too hot for the likes of me.
The first two miles were okay, and I even made the second mile in 11:55. But maybe I was going too fast, because by the end of mile 3 I felt overheated and gasping for air. It was as if my whole body was just going NOPE, not gonna do it any more.
Came in and looked at myself and I was bright red, and not from sunburn. Looked at my Garmin and noticed that towards the end there my HR was getting crazy high. So... I don't know. Too hot, too fast, too out of shape, who knows. Next time I'll try to pace myself better.
One thing I did notice... I did go without my running belt this time and my foot didn't go numb. So... that looks like the culprit.6 -
