Weird one. My blue jeans were so tight that the chapstick I keep in my pocket would roll up, pop the cap off, get out, and leave a stain on my pants... doesn't happen anymore.33

Had a good conversation with a new friend about weight loss. She had mentioned that she was ready to get serious about getting in shape and losing weight, but wasn't sure where to start. I told her what I've been doing over the last 6 months and why it felt different this time then the last 10 times I've tried. After I told her what was working for me, she told me it was really inspiring. I've never heard that before. I just hope I didn't sound like I was gloating, and she was just being polite! LOL. Because I was kind of humblebragging. "I don't want to brag buuut, what worked for me was..... …..And now I'm down 2 sizes!" It felt good though to feel like I hopefully inspired someone and made them feel like they too can do it. Most of the time weight loss conversations with other people feels like just idle conversation that falls on deaf ears. As if eating a little less and moving a little more is something that they don't have access to. That reads snarkier then I intended. (um, no snark). It just I have friends and family that NEED to lose weight for their health. They don't seem to believe it's a simple concept. Not always simple in application, but simple in concept, and best accomplished if kept simple and easy.26

Talking to an aquantance yesterday, mentioned I had bought the sandals I was wearing in a store which caters for plus sizes. She said (you can't have been big enough to shop there, you are nice and slim) assured her I was but was really pleased at the compliment13

but for now I can still lift him and give him piggy back rides through the apartment! LOL!
lol!! For sure, one of my proudest moments was during a mud run carrying my husband in a fireman's carry for a short distance! Doing that was so inspiring to me that it became one of my overall fitness goals, to always be able to carry my husband!
I had a NSV last week at work, in that we had a farewell lunch for a coworker and I totally was not tempted by the food! I ate my healthy lunch before I even went as a preventive step. And although there is always room for dessert, I wasn't even interested! When offered, I simply (with gentle assertiveness) said "No thank you, I'm sticking to my nutrition plan and I'm doing very well." Often they replied either great job or a shrug and walked away. I'm very proud that I asserted myself and stuck to my guns! I'm most proud of that, really!!20 -
Summer shorts needed replaced, the ones I bought last year because I had shrunk out of all my clothes are falling off me now. I bought two pairs... one is a size 6 and the other is a junior's 9! They are replacing a size 14. I also bought a small shirt. Two years ago, I was wearing 28 jeans and 4x shirts! Even my feet have shrunk from a 9.5 to an 8.5.
I also bought mid rise shorts for the first time and actually tucked my shirt in. My belly still has a lot of loose skin and some flab, but in clothes it's much less noticeable.

Yesterday while working I noticed I’m getting defined calf muscles! I was pretty excited15

Congratulations!! Something to look up to (and strive for) - I am currently at 170 lbs (my 80%) six sets of three each...9 -
This might be a little TMI but I have to share. My bf grabbed my butt and said it felt firmer. :P22

My size 8 "skinny jeans" are a bit too loose. Actually, they are still very fitted on the calves but loose at the waist, hips, upper legs so they kind of fit like jodphurs, not a great look, lol. I have two pairs of wishful thinking 6s, one I can get away with wearing.
Also, I made the leap of taking five pairs of size 14 jeans to the thrift store, not keeping them just in case I gain (16s went the instant I didn't need them.) I'm only keeping 10s and lower!19 -

I love that thread too. It makes you realize things you never thought of yourself.
No more chub rub for me either!
High 5 from me!
Great work everyone!16 -
I actually ate what I logged and logged what I ate yesterday...29

I ran for 20 minutes straight this morning. A few weeks ago running for 5 was a struggle. I'm exhausted but so pumped!35

@mebelfanti, THANK YOU! I had planned on doing week 5, day 3 of C25K today, which is... you guessed it, a 20-minute run between the warm-up and cool-down walks. It’s been raining all day and the morning forecast said the skies should clear by 6pm, so I was really looking forward to fresh nature after the rain. Well, it’s 7pm and still raining, and I was legitimately upset about missing my run (which is an NSV of its own), when I saw your post. Now, I don’t care if it’s raining, if my socks get wet, my makeup runs, or if I have to turn around after 5 minutes, I decided I’m freakin’ going. I ain’t made of sugar, and I’m about ready to get pumped up and show the dark clouds where they can shove it.28 -

@hipari Get it girl! I've been doing a mix of C25K and just seeing how long I can run without stopping, mostly because week 5 day 3 scared me. You got this!9 -
@hipari report back! We want to hear how it felt/went! Loved your post and run like the wind bullseye!!!!5

@mebelfanti @Thehardmakesitworthit I made it, and my makeup didn’t even smudge.
Just to make things even more glorious, my app went to the background somewhere along the way, so when I took my phone out to see how many minutes left and whether I need to take a detour to make the route long enough, the app said I was halfway through the cooldown. Still running.
More glory: my long-awaited Amazon package was delivered to the post office today, so I decided to end my run there. My usual route goes north of my home and the post office is south, so I turned around earlier than usual to make the ”south loop” to the post office. This alternative route included two pretty steep uphills, and I jogged up both without walking. All in all, the whole run was pretty easy, the rain actually kept me cool, and I feel like I could have gone longer or faster. That’s great, since the entire route including warm-up and cooldown was around 2.2 miles, so I still have some speeding up to do if I want to hit the C25K goal of a 40-minute 5K. I did take the citybike back home from the post office, just so the cardboard package would have to spend less time in the rain.
Oh, and what did I order from Amazon, you ask? New running gear, of course.31 -
^^ Yass!!!!! you have the bug! LOL. Glad for you!!!!2

@hipari yaaass! you're killing it!2

I have been very discouraged by the scale for the month of June, but when I did my measurements on Sunday I had lost 5 inches!28

I've been stalled lately, because my eating hasn't been great and I haven't been regularly exercising. (I keep making excuses.) I've literally been on a lose-gain-repeat cycle with the same five pounds for a month.
But, I feel pretty good today. Despite myself, I haven't gained back a ton. I'm down another pants size -- from a tight tight 28 that probably should have been a 30 or 32 in November to a 22 today. I finally went to the gym this week and to the water aerobics class I signed up for last month but hadn't attended yet. I feel like I'm getting back on track! And I haven't quit entirely, in large part because I keep reading this thread. I love reading these, y'all! Keep up the good work!32 -

I found a bra that fits well. It is a 34C. IDK how, because my band size should be a 36 or 38, but I was trying on sister sizes, and this bra style didn't have one in my size so I tried on the 34C and it fit like a charm, and I can wear it on the second hook... Weird. So I'm a C-cup now. That sounds a lot better than being a 38A cup, haha!19

No more muffin top in my skinny jeans! In fact I'm pinching some extra fabric in them. I placed my baggy leggings and jeggings in trash/donation pile, I don't need them anymore. Also, I now have enough courage to buy shorts. lol.24

Not sure why THIS got flagged and "woo'd".
Congrats on the run! I hope the 3 minutes turn into 5 and more!
I didn't push that button, but I thought woo is like woo-hoo! like cheering for the commenter?
Nope. Woo like "woo-woo". Kind of a negative connotation on MFP.
I always thought woo was a good thing too...Never did I see it as a negative.
