@coolchick207 Oh what a victory it will be when it fits comfortably!!4

While people watching on our balcony at the beach my DH pointed out a man jogging and said "That's how you run. Very easy and relaxed." This made me feel so happy on many levels. 1) He noticed details about me. 2) The man jogging made it look effortless. Could I really run like that? 3) I took my first running step 7 months ago and I'm now doing 10k runs on a regular basis.39

This is an odd one, but I'll take it. My 6'3" always-a-healthy-weight husband has spent an hour this evening asking me about calories and portion sizes and finally seems to understand why I carefully measure things like olive oil27

Took @VUA21 's advice and started to run slower. Today I ran longer than I have since college, and I think I can do the C25K program at this speed. But I could have walked faster, lol.
I run like a horse... a dressage horse.
My profile pic is fairly accurate. We'll be teammates as my running speed has only barely sped up faster than my walking speed. Also, as I slowed down my run to be able to run longer, I am finding out that I am slowly speeding up naturally (went an additional .2 miles in my 25 min jog) - not by much, but a win is a win and I'll take it!
And yes you can do the C25K program. It's designed to be repeated for weeks that are difficult to finish, even thier website explicitly says to.
Congratulations on your run!10 -

That's wonderful! I run like a draft horse . . . or is it a hobby horse . . . or sawhorse?
I'm REALLY slow these days but love it as much as I did when I was young and fleet of foot.

I'm just glad I run faster than a rocking horse, which is only slightly faster than a Charlie horse. I love running more now than when I was younger, I guess I just developed more patience as I've gotten older.14 -
I was at Nordstrom's Rack yesterday when I saw a conventionally hot girl in a cute outfit. Then another one. Just when I was about to screw up my face into an annoyed expression of jealousy (that they did nothing to earn, mind you) I realised I was shopping the same 'Small' rack as them.26

@dhiammarath I've been enjoying your witty dragonpants posts for months. Now it looks like it's really caught on. Here's to contributing to the MFP lexicon!

This happened a couple of weeks ago, but it still makes me so happy. The day before Eid, I went to a salon to have my hair washed (I had a lot of errands to run, and wanted to pamper myself a bit). The woman who did my hair remembered me from last August when she blow dried my hair for my sister's wedding. She said l while my hair was nice then, it's so much thicker and fuller now.
I was still really sick last year, and lost half my hair due to nutrient deficiency and steroids. I was so self conscious about my hair and overall looks then, so it was a wonderful reminder of how much healthier I am now!33 -
Size 6. I only dropped a handful of pounds in the last two months, but clothing dropped to a 6.25

Someone at work was leaving the dept. & they weren't going to be here on Fri., so a little impromptu party was thrown. There was a strawberry shortcake; the kind w/the custard cream layer w/strawberries in it, the whipped cream icing & strawberries on top - one of my favorites! There were also potato chips - another one of my downfalls, & soda (not a big fan, so that's a good thing.) I did not eat any of it. It was so hard standing there watching most everyone eat, while I was just sipping my water. If the party had been held on Fri. I would have partaken, but with very small portions. Let me tell you, it was well worth the sacrifice. When I stepped on the scale this morning & I had a 1.5 lb. weight loss. So very satisfying! And that is my NSV moment so far. (Someone post what NSV stands for, please.)
NSV = non scale victory4 -
I ran a sub 11 minute mile this morning - the first time in at least 3 years. It doesn't sound like much, but considering I started at 13+ minutes/mile at the beginning of the year, this accomplishment feels absolutely huge. I'm averaging 12 minute miles and looking to run a sub 10 minute mile by the end of the year.32

I didn't want to do my squats this morning. 185 lbs for five sets of seven sounded impossible. But I did!23

I feel this on a visceral level. Claiming the same NSV, though! I did those squats (though my weakling self could only do them with a tiny fraction of the impressive weight you state). Can I say well done us?13 -

Yes, we can! Well done, US!!!6 -
I finally weigh less than my fiance! He's 6'2 and 215, I'm 5'7 and 204. I still have a lot to lose, but for now I can still lift him and give him piggy back rides through the apartment! LOL! He still *cannot* lift me though! I want to get light enough that he can pick me up on our wedding day! Time for him to start going to the gym with me to get stronger!26

@HDBKLM Thank you!! I figure if I make myself laugh and feel like the heroine in my own story, I can slay anything in my path!! The dark wood of unknown approaches where I am sure even bigger dragonpants lie, but today I frolic on my birthday!
NSV? The closet's the limit!! I can closet surf across the backs of my slain dragons for whatever birthday outfit I want. And THAT is so much more than what I had last year. Today, I make camp and enjoy a bit of a respite. I plan to throw a proverbial feast! To live in the glory of my accomplishments!
The war ain't over, and tomorrow new plans will be made. And backup plans for no plan survives first contact with the dragon enemy.
Congrats to all the NSVs today!!18 -
I paddled SUP 7.7 miles yesterday afternoon, which is actually less than the 8.6 the day before but that is 16.3 miles in 2 days. I have never come close to that before. I was requiring a rest day after a 5 mile day not long ago. I like what it has done to my arms and chest also. If I go to the pool, I will strut a little.19

Just on my last day of a Whole 30 month and decided to run a test at work. Turns out i now fit size Medium scrubs instead of the large ive been wearing so far!22
