Hi there. I’m trying to go on the no carb diet... does anyone have any recipes or tips and tricks they’d like to share???

Do you mean no carb or low carb? Is there a reason you chose this type of diet or are you just experimenting? A no carb diet would involve eating nothing but meat and fat.8

No carb doesn't sound pleasant or healthy to me - I consider the nutrients in vegies, fruits and other plant based foods to be important for health as well as being tasty additions to my diet. Are you choosing to avoid these things for a particular reason?6

I’m assuming you mean a low carb diet - no carb would be very difficult and certainly not optimal.
There are a couple of good low carb group on MFP who I’m sure would be very helpful.
If you click on groups and put low carb they should pop up.

There are a handful of carnivores around here. They usually go by carnivore, basically the opposite of vegan, because it's almost impossible to go carb free due to glycogen in animal products. Zero carb isn't quite accurate.
I've experimented with carnivore in the past and am experimenting again. I'd say I'm around 80% carnivore in that 80% of the time I am skipping plant products when I eat. I eat meat, seafood, eggs and some full fat dairy.

FYI, fibre is not needed to poo. If you want bulkier, bigger (or smellier fermented) poops, it helps but the fats in meat keeps things moving. Now, if you chose to focus only on lean meats like chicken breast, you could develop a constipation problem. I'm 2 months into this and only had a problem when after over a month of 100% carnivore I added a bowl of nuts and a coconut flour muffin to my day. If I avoid that stuff, BMs are fine, if smaller and less frequent.
Very few eat this way around here. If interested, there is a carnivore MFP group, but it is small. There is a subgroup on the ketogenic forums too, as well as a few active websites. It's not for everyone.
Those who do eat carnivore tend not to focus on avoiding carbs, but more on how animal products improves their health, performance and makes weight loss easier. There are a number of carnivores who resolved IBS symptoms using it, and a few other health issues were improved too. YMMV
Dr Shawn Baker is probably the most outspoken carnivore right now. He's broken some rowing records on it lately, I believe.

Are you talking about "Low Carb" (such as, maybe South Beach or Atkins or Keto) or are you talking about "No Carb" as in absolutely no carbs at all?

The question has been asked, but why do you want to try this diet? The why behind it helps us give you better answers.
Some people do well on lower carb diets.
Some do not (me included). It causes me to freak out and binge after about three days. I do better on a lower calorie diet without restricting carbs.
Most people here on MFP want to help you determine your best path for adherence and success, hence all the follow-up questions.7 -

Ya, seriously, I am curious to know why the OP absolutely needs to get rid of all carbs at all cost and how the OP knows that's the diet that will make them stick to a caloric deficit. It sucks enough to you have to restrict your calories, even worse is restricting a lot of food choices too. Who knows maybe bacon and olive oil is her thing.3 -

South beach isn't low carb (neither the real version nor the bastardization it is now). Slow carb yes. Low carb, no. (maybe by S.A.D. standards). But yes, I'm assuming she means low carb or keto.0 -

Hey quite a lot of foods contain carbohydrates.. it’s in amongst so many foods that you probably don’t realise, such as dairy, milk, yoghurt, ice cream, fruit, grains, bread, rice, crackers, cereal, legumes, beans, any plant based protein, potatoes, corn, sweets etc the list goes on! To not have any of these foods will really restrict you and will cause you to lose vital minerals and fluids, this can cause you to become weak and tired and headaches and dehydration etc. I would perhaps try to consume fruit and vegetables as your carbs and maybe stay away from the likes of bread and pasta and potatoes etc?0 -

I would be really cautious about listening to someone who has pre-diabetic/diabetic levels of blood sugar and doesn't acknowledge it. I'm not saying eating meat caused that since diabetes is mostly caused by genetics and excess weight not food intake, what I'm saying is that someone who considers high levels of blood sugar normal just to defend his dietary choices is someone who needs to be listened to with a big grain of salt. It's very obvious he would go to any length and bend and twist any facts to support his choices to the point of saying fruits and vegetables have no benefits, and may even be harmful.6 -

Good carbs are carbs that taste good to me: like Cookie Crisp cereal.
Bad carbs are things I don't like: like sweet potatoes and quinoa (aka bird seed).5 -
Kinda hard to do no carb but low carb is very possible. Even veggies and fruits are loaded with carbs so unless you’re going Keto it’s not possible with a regular diet0

If you're talking Type II it has a LOT more to do with what you eat than the 'genetics' cop out...
But anyway I'm sure the OP meant low carb, just, the fact that she called it no carb speaks to not being very informed. You guys might do better linking her to some resources on keto rather than 'you mean you only eat meat???' over and over lol.8
