7/07: 188 Dessert! Strawberry shortcake - planned and delicious. Chocolate bar and other random snacks not planned and not so delicious. Impulse control gets pretty poor when I am short of sleep. Will need to work on that today.
7/08: 186.6 Hoping that is the end of 188's Going for an "afternoon tea" today Not sure how to track it but will try to make estimates.
7/09: 187.8 expected that - and the scones were delicious!! Going to begin the day with a long walk.
7/10: 187.4 a loss is a loss no matter how small
7/11: 186.8

Round 46 goal. Loose the 4 pounds I gained over the holiday and catering dinners for friends and family this entire week.
7/9 – 194lbs – its been a long week of binging on adult beverages and Unlimited meals, managed to stay under my goal of 199 but would like to get back to averaging 189. Will be eating the same lunch the rest of the week to try and loose 5 pounds.
7/10 – 194lbs – needed to stay out of the house till 9pm last night. Ate 2 giant burgers because the second one was half off. Also drinks were cheap. Loved the good food but had way to much for any loss the next couple days.
7/11 – 191.8lbs – had a good food day yesterday and was 1100 calories under maintenance. I am not trying to loose much but would like to see mid to high 180’s again. My scale is my 2nd best tool for weight loss. It is so accurate that I base my caloric intake on the information it gives me. Total Weight, water %, body fat%, bone weight, muscle weight, BMI ====== I love that scale.
7/12 – 191lbs – really thought I would have weighed less this morning. ate good and had my usual vice. Maybe tomorrow?

7/07- 231.4 Pleasantly surprised I’m holding steady from yesterday. NSV- Did great at the wedding. Was careful how much I ate for dinner and ate enough of the cake to appreciate the taste of it. Saw an acquaintance I hadn’t seen in 2 months and she told me I was looking good. She’s very PC so she wouldn’t come straight out and say “You’ve lost some weight.” Nice way to start the round.
7/08- 231.8 No explanation for the bump except maybe some GI issues. Good food day yesterday. Family event today = loads of food. Aiming for good food choices.
7/09- 232.4 my scale seems to like this number. Disheartened that the numbers are going the wrong way. I did everything I was supposed to do this weekend. I was especially proud since I had two social events and I felt I did well at both.
7/10- 231.4 I feel like the scale and I are subjects of a Katy Perry song. At least it’s down to this round’s SW... for now.
7/11- 230.4 Starting to question the accuracy of my scale. Lots of .4s logged. Regardless though, there’s a pep in my step today.

July is the month that I will assess what foods I can eat, once in a whi!e, outside of keto. I do not expect any loss of weight. If I eat something that makes me gain or not feel well, then "OFF WITH ITS HEAD! Lol, no, but definitely off of my foods list.

•7/7 - 192.2
•7/8 - 192.6 - I guess I'll be seeing every increment of 192 this challenge. Although, after what I ate today, I expect to see up to 194. I enjoyed my son's Belgian waffles again today. I planned for 2 and thats what I ate at a cost of over 130 grams of carbs, 110 net carbs. EGADS!
•7/9 - 192 - Ended up being 135g carbs / 112g net after eating some green beans for dinner.
•7/10 - 192 - A normal high carb day for me on keto yesterday, 44g, 41 net. Salad greens, lime juice for my water, salsa and a few tablespoons of crispy red peppers as a salad topping.
•7/11 - 191.6 - Oh my, what a surprise! I thought my scale would read 192.4 for sure (I think that's one I skipped) or 193 upwards to 194. Yesterday, I kept the children while my DIL worked. It was the usual busy, fun chaos and I did manage to eat breakfast. I even ate a small peach and several strawberries. 35 net carbs for the day. No second meal for me though (peanut butter to the rescue) and not enough water until after they left. I weighed 5 times and the averaged total was 191, so I chose the number I saw twice. Maybe I will see an increase tomorrow.
•7/12 - 191.6 - Okay. Yesterday carbs were salad and a half cup of watermelon. 35g, 31 net carbs. I had to run errands and that always alters my eating plan later in the day. I ate dinner a little later than usual. I cut back the watermelon from a full cup and did not eat guacamole that I had in my food diary. I had no appetite for it.

7/07...174...looking forward to the next ten days' progress!
7/08...174... ya, baby!!!! It's legit! Worked my tail off yesterday and feeling it. Got another busy day ahead.
7/09...176...had another hot work day yesterday. Chalking the gain up to water retention. Bod feels achy and great. Was ravenous last night and woke up with stomach growling. That's unusual for me.
7/10...176...cinnamon bench!!!! On the bright side, my pants are not as tight and I can feel some muscle building below the fat. 😄
7/11...175...love seeing this number drop, but happy it's not my only progress reference. Dropping inches, baby!!!!
7/12...175...my energy level is getting better. Step count is back up over 10k. Resting heart rate is down to 65. Baby steps!

7/07:--174.4 I didn't expect this to stick around!
7/08:--174.8 Weighed in this morning but almost forgot to log it!
7/09:--173.8 Wasn't expecting to see this at all! It's probably a one-off because I wasn't feeling 100% yesterday and ended up under-eating.
7/10:--175.4 A sure sign that TOM is imminent.
7/11:--175.2
7/12:--175.8 It's only temporary.....it's only temporary......I considered skipping today's weigh in since I know its my old friend TOM messing with me, but I decided to give him the finger instead I stopped logging last night and allowed myself to just eat whatever I wanted. I always feel soooo hungry around this time of the month. I've figured out that this is cyclical and if I just let it happen for a day or two, it won't mess up my long term progress and it's actually easier to get back on track. Otherwise, I'm just cranky!

I've decided to pay more attention to my moving average weight rather than daily ups & downs, so that's what I'm reporting this round. Also reporting both daily calories & 10-day calorie averages, because I've found the averages mean more in terms of my weight trend, but I still like to see what the daily numbers are.
Goals:
Food ~~ 1330 net calories 10-day average; P 15-25%, C 35-50%, F 25-35%; mostly clean & healthful
Exercise: 60 minutes/day of walking/swimming + yoga/stretch class 3X/week
Weight ~~ looking for a steady or downward trend. Time is not an issue.

7/07 - 147.6 - 1645 - 10-day average 1250
I had a lovely day yesterday, and today promises more of the same. Temp in the low 80s and clear, so I went for a 4-mile walk on our beautiful Rivergreenway in the morning. Did some gardening in the afternoon, and then some housecleaning ( ) because we had friends over for dinner, which was lovely with the gorgeous long evening to sit outside and talk and watch the birds and eat a bit too much (but healthy!). I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!
7/08 - 147.7 - 1377 - 10-day ave 1371
We're having a string of gorgeous days - temps in the 80s, brilliant blue skies.... I saw the results of Friday evening's splurge on the scale this morning, but I'm going with the averages, so not letting it stress me out. I worked in the garden for an hour last evening, moving and planting - there's nothing like playing with living color in the dirt to lift the spirits! Off for a walk in a few minutes. Have a lovely day, all!
7/09 - 147.7 - 1553 - 10-day ave 1412
7/10 - 147.8 - 1549 - 10-day ave 1420 - 7-day ave 1456
I didn't have a chance to check in yesterday so just added my data. Calculating averages has turned out to be really useful - I see a much clearer correlation between my 10-day (or 7-day) calorie average and my weight than between daily calorie fluctuations and weight. Since I'm using my moving weight average, changes aren't so startling, but in fact my weight this morning was 149, which makes sense since not just my daily calories but my calorie averages are up a little. So now I can make sensible adjustments. Oh, and I did splurge last night on a half cup of ice cream and had Mexican for lunch, so it all makes sense.
7/11: - 148 - 2035 - 10-day ave 1507
I have no idea why, but yesterday evening I pretty deliberately overate - I haven't had this many calories since May 25, and that was a similar anomaly. Weirdly, I woke up really hungry for breakfast. Go figure. Of course, my weight is up and will no doubt stay up for a couple of days, but focusing on the moving average helps me see the bigger picture. Anyway, that's the end of that foolishness for another long while! I'm just thinking of it s a quick re-feed and moving on. Planning a nice long walk this morning and maybe another this evening.
7/12 - 147.8 - 1165 - 10-day ave 1466
Apparently my splurge on Tuesday carried over, because I wasn't very hungry most of yesterday & I felt kinda crummy. I did go for a walk, but only half an hour. Back to normal today (I hope!).

Today is well planned at this point - so we'll see how it goes This is a new week and I plan to get back to the basics - last week went a little off the rails, and I've got lots of things upcoming that could be excuses. I also realized I tend to go crazy in July and December - so I'm giving myself some grace rather than beating myself up for it and moving forward with baby steps! DH and I were talking this morning and realized we've made some huge changes in the past 3 years - quit drinking, quit smoking, started saving for a house, stopped going out every weekend. We made all those changes slowly, but deliberately. Reminding myself I AM CAPABLE if I just keep swimming.
07/10 - Tuesday - 195.8 - Nice! Busy as ever and incredibly prone to distraction today as we wait to hear if our offer was accepted. No breakfast smoothie, and no ice in my ice coffee this morning that is life these last few days but I'll make the best of it! I did manage to pack of few snacks at least and take meat out of the freezer to grill for dinner. Onward!
07/11 - 193.0 - WOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!! Finally! AND! Offer accepted yesterday!!! It was a whirlwind to say the very least so I was on the low side of my calories yesterday. I ate a nice dinner even though I wasnt hungry because I knew the munchies would come late at night and try to sabotage me if I didnt! Feeling so freaking grateful to be on the road to a better me as we move closer and closer to our dream home every day too - which means babies and I need to be healthy for that to happen! Managing stress will be KEY over the next few weeks.
07/12 - 192.4 - Okay I think this is the stress at this point. Three days of whoosh seems extreme but gosh darnit I'm happy to see it. Eating has been good, even though I have NO appetite - moving lots -and trying to stay focused and organized - and also trying to get enough sleep! Phew! Checking in early here so I can focus on what needs to get done today.

Round 45 report: Logged later a few days, but average sugar consumption was quite a lot lower which was a goal. Got a couple of nice cardio workouts in, average weight is down.
Round 46 GOAL = Maintain weight. That's it. I am trying to control my anxiety by making rules again, and it's time to stop when my perfectionism is driving the bus; that's a "recipe" for disaster.
7/7 - 125.8 - yesterday under maintenance, 10K steps, got in a walk/run to gym and 20 mins on elliptical.
7/8 - 126.2 - yesterday over maintenance, due to some middle of night can't-sleep sugar. Got in a pretty solid at-home strength workout yesterday - resistance bands, exercise ball etc.
7/9 - 125.4 - yesterday under maintenance, 10K steps, got a 3.5 mile run in with some walk intervals, it was hot but ran to gym and then ran on treadmill. A day to stack up and check off the things that will make me feel better: taking care of bills, stretching, taking vitamins, sitting with the mindfulness exercise, and getting a run.
7/10 - 126.8 - yesterday under maintenance, 10K steps including a short run to gym, 35 mins on the elliptical, and slow walk home. Unfortunately the gym was steaming (it's more of a lifter's gym, hardly anyone does hard cardio there for more than 10 minutes but me, and it has west facing windows...) and by the time I got home I was BROKEN.
Dinner helped, but after passing out for 5 hours I woke at 3AM with a headache and weak willpower, and some sugar has gone down the hatch. Possibly my body is just replenishing its glycogen, I have worked out pretty hard a few days in a row ... All will be well, it's just finding my sea legs with summer here in norcal
7/11 - 126.8 - yesterday super overtired, over on calories and a planned no-workout day due to other commitments. Went to bed at 8:45 and slept 10 hours. Aaaaahhhhh. It was LOVELY.
7/12 - 127.6 - yesterday under maintenance, 13K steps, nice run. It feels so weird to run hard on a treadmill for a half a mile, take a walk break to get my heart rate down, and realize that was not quite as fast as marathon pace ... 13 years ago. But I'm running; so no worries. Another good night's sleep.
I spite of the other day's bonk, I ran to the gym in the heat and it went much better. Took ice water this time! Was still 88 when I got back home. (Dry norcal heat of course, but still hot for running!)

7/7 at 5:00 / 230.6 / Urk!
7/8 at 10:45 / 230.4 / Terrible eating. Too much running around. Too little drinking with too much salt. On the plus side, yesterday we went to NYC and saw the Statue of Liberty and were able to climb into the crown. Something like 350 steps from the ground to her crown, with the second half going up a tiny, twisting staircase. It was lots of fun and we all got a bit wobbly on the way down. I now have a really weird sunburn on a spot where I guess I missed putting on sunscreen.
7/9 at 8:00 / 229.4 / I had a much better eating day yesterday and drank lots of fluids. This week should be a very simple week. Fingers crossed!
7/10 at 6:15 / 229 / Good eating day yesterday. Today, I'm taking part in a challenge where my only drink is water. I don't know how capable I am of that! I love my Diet Coke! I hit my head really hard during my commute. I have a bit of a headache, but I think things are okay. I'm on a bit of high alert right now.
7/11 at 6:00 / 228 / Good eating. I made it through day 1 of no Diet Coke. Can I make it two in a row?
7/12 at 8:45 / 226.8 / Good eating yesterday. My second day of no Diet Coke, but I'm working from home today and I just didn't feel like going for a third day in a row. Nice drop in weight. Of course, it's a much later weigh in, too!

Day/Weight/Comment
7/07: Weight = 164.5 (down .4 from yesterday) Happy to see the scale moving in the right direction to start off this challenge! Yesterday was a good day - was able to squeeze in a short run between thunderstorms and completed day 19 of my exercise challenge which was a Posterior Chain workout (Thigh Jacks, Elevated Bridge Lifts, Triceps Dips, Swimmers, Single Leg Tabletops, 3-Way Calf Raises). So what I learned yesterday, is that I have SUPER weak back muscles. I've found in past workouts that doing Supermans are hard for me but the Swimmer's yesterday showed me just how weak my back is. Swimmers = lie on your stomach with your arms and legs fully extended - lift your arms and legs up and begin to paddle, alternating right leg, left arm up, then left leg, right arm like a swimmer, keep your lower back engaged for 45 seconds x 3. So that's something I definitely need to work on. On to day 20 today which is Cardio Ladders. I hope everyone has a great start to their weekend and to this challenge
7/08: Weight = 162.3 (down 2.2 from yesterday). I KNOW this is not a real loss. Slept in this morning and weighed-in super late so that will account for this low number. I don't expect this to be my weight tomorrow but as long as it is below 164.5 tomorrow, I'll be good. Yesterday I was below calories, on target with macros and completed my day 20 exercises. Around 10 p.m. I found myself doing a few walking laps of my house to get my Fitbit to 10,000 steps - so silly, but hey, it is making me move more. It's a beautiful day here today, and not hot or humid like last week, so going to go enjoy a nice run and then get my day 21 challenge workout. Probably grilling out tonight, love lazy summer days!
7/09: Weight = 162.3 Didn't expect this number to stick around, very surprised but happy! I still won't believe this is a real loss for another day or two. Yesterday was the last day of the break in the heat wave, going back up this week, so I enjoyed being outside and had a great run and then we cooked out last night. Husband cooked a flank steak, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers on the grill and he and our daughter had fajitas and I skipped the tortilla and had mine on top of a brown rice/quinoa grain salad, delicious! I completed day 21 of my exercise challenge which was all about back strengthening, which I need. Capped of the evening watching the Tour de France (so addicted to this every summer), so all in all a nice relaxing weekend. My daughter has extended school year (just 3 days a week during July only) starting this week and we live relatively close to where it is being held, so I'll be walking her there for drop off and walk back for pick-up, so should be adding in some extra calorie burn for the next month. Have a great start to your week, everyone!
7/10: Weight = 161.8 (down .5 from yesterday) I *think* I've broken through my plateau, I want to see another day in this range and then feel like these are real losses. Yesterday was a good day, I ate under calories and hit my macros, no alcohol, no gluten, lots of water and completed my day 22 challenge exercise which was a lateral/side body circuit workout. Also got in a 30 minute walk with my daughter to do a trial run to see how long it would take to get her to summer school, 15 minutes there and 15 minutes back. Although my plan is to walk her there for drop off and then run home and then run back for pick-up and walk home with her. Anything to get that extra calorie burn! My big happy moment yesterday was when I caught my daughter looking at me and then she said "Mommy, I can see it, you are losing weight. You look different than you did". That being said, I am always careful being the mother of an almost teenage girl, that I tell her I am doing this to get my fitness back and be strong and healthy not to be skinny.
7/11: Weight = 161.8 (same as yesterday) I'm down 10.2 lbs since I recommitted to my weight loss in June. I'm really happy to reach this 1st milestone! Yesterday was good all around, got in lots of exercising and got my most steps since I got my fitbit last week, ate under calories and didn't have any gluten or alcohol. I did my day 23 exercise challenge yesterday which was a full body workout and I'm on tired legs today. Luckily, the scheduled workout for today is Active Recovery with 15 gratitude sun salutations. And the weather is pretty good today too, so I think my daughter and I might mini golf this afternoon, a fun way to get in some steps on this rest day.
7/12: Weight = 161.6 (down .2 from yesterday) Yesterday was active recovery, so took it very easy but completed my day 24 challenge (yoga) and just had a nice afternoon/evening with my daughter. We watched a movie after mini golf and just vegged out on the sofa, my steps were super low but that was the plan. Back at it today with running, a booty workout and a walk planned.

@tiabirdie56 I am within a pound of my lowest weight in over a decade, well within my WW goal range, but looking in the mirror I still see little fat rolls above and my “deflated tire” below my waist. We must celebrate our PROGRESS even if we feel our work is not complete.

7/08 147.5 ~ (Steps 89,89) ~ My husband and I took a nice long drive to the beach, after having lunch at our favorite restaurant. The weather was gorgeous, walking on the beach was perfect plus having ice cream was a treat we both enjoyed.
7/09 146.6 ~ (Steps 14,004) ~ Today was busy getting ready for the coming week but my husband and I was able to get a wonderful lunch in..
7/10 146.4 ~ (Steps 12,454) ~ The scale is going down slowly even tough I’m not going over my carb intake....I would love to hit my goal these 10 days...
7/11 no weigh in
7/12 147.4 ~ (Steps 15,215) ~ Yesterday wasn’t a good day with food, I didn’t go over my calorie goal but my carb intake was over the top....I’m heading home tonight, looking forward to it...It’s soooo sad the relationship she has with my SIL, I was in the same kind 18 years ago... Hopefully, in the next few months she’ll do what needs to be done for her happiness!

Ummm.... whaaaaaa!!! 🤯😂 no clue what’s happening and why. I worked out very late last night and ate within my goal. So did everything right. Did feel bloated for the first time last night so maybe that’s what this is? Oh well! Let’s see what happens in this round. I know progress will be slower now, even if I push myself. Last 10 lbs!! Also need to get better sleep.
7/08 - 120.4
Couldn’t workout yesterday as I felt my left knee was hurting a bit. It’s very mild. Never had any kind of issues with my knees before so didn’t want to push it without knowing what’s happening. Need to figure out moves/workouts to mediate the pain and it’s almost gone with rest now. I cooked and made flan last night and hoping not to overdo it with food today!
7/09 - 119.6
Ok, so that is good. Weird weigh in yesterday and day before that better not happen again! 😂 walked for an hr. Yesterday and it felt good and my knee got to rest too. I think I’ll try to do my regular bike cardio today. Let’s see. Lack of well rested and enough sleep seems to be important for how my days go and also weigh-ins in the mornings.
7/10 - 119.4
Yay! Warm up and workout yesterday, knee feels better too. Good sleep last night and within my calories.
7/11 - 119.6
Yesterday was rest day! And kind of wasn’t a very active day physically but a busy day nonetheless. Sleep was ok, ate within my goal and looking forward to working out today.
7/12 - 118.2
Worked out yesterday and it felt so good. I feel bogged down and heavy, the days I don’t workout! Who would’ve thought I’d ever feel that way for not working out! 🤣😬 sleep could’ve been better but wasn’t too bad, also ate well within my range. Although, ate maybe a tad more carbs than I usually do, but it wasn’t over by much.

Noticed my weekly average sodium is up to 1760mg this week. Culprit: olives on my salads...!
Will cut the quantity down. Hehe Ate our for a special event yesterday - cut back rest of day & walked extra to eat at maintenance level. Pleased.
Noticed that I felt groggy, was yawning a lot, some slight nausea — for the first time in over 8 months. Didn’t eat too much, but it had Much more fats and refined carbs. My fiber micro was the lowest in 8 months lol I’m pleased as this will reinforce my not eating out
7/10 166.8 a Trend wt: 167.0* Loss/week: 0.4*
Scale has been wonky. This could have been 167.4, but shifted at last minute. Fingers crossed!!
I just realized I’ve weighed under 170 lbs since May 26! Encouraging! Now to get my high weight to 166.4! Feeling more motivated to lose more.
7/11 165.6* ✅Trend wt: 166.8* Loss/week: 0.5*
Okay, I figured out what was happening...a new brand of hummus was driving up my daily sodium/retaining water. I’m also eating less overall. Exercising, but with less intensity.
BMI: 24.8!! Normal at 5’8.5”✅ I’m sure this will bounce a bit, but trend line tells the story!!
7/12 165.2*a ✅ Trend wt: 166.6* Loss/wk: 0.6**
Wow! Lowest weight so far!! SO exciting.
Largest trending Loss/wk since June 11. I recognized what took the wind out of my weight loss sails (& decided to maintain) & am now being kind to myself as I pull out of it. I am creating more of a deficit calorie-wise each day than before.
Funny story: when I saw 165.2 on the scale, I thought “What, no way I gained 7 lbs..!!” No idea why I thought that. I weighed three times, 165.2, 165.2 165.2 thinking “wow, my scale must be broken” Started walking to Hubby’s scale when I finally woke up enough to realize I’d lost - hadn’t recognized the 165 since I was not expecting a lower number & in fact, I’m not sure I’ve seen this number since high school!! Sure is tricky getting used to new wt numbers!

@81meg1L my weight-loss-and-maintenance life changed when I started keeping track of my 10 day challenge average weights. Through all the daily ups and downs I could see the pattern emerge, and the pattern was, most 10 days the scale went down. Now in maintenance I don't worry about being back up 2 pounds (like today) because I can see my new 10 day average shaping up to be a record low ....
Takes the static out of those numbers that look like a seismograph!6
