For that workout, how many calories are consumed? How does it compare to running?
Wolfram Alpha gives a fat loss of 140g for an hour of "Male 98 kg running 10 km/hr". That's not a lot of weight reduction.
I don't wear a HR monitor. I also don't pay attention to calories burned in relation to weight loss. I just got done with a very intense session and will be burning more calories overnight too. The only thing that matters is the scale moving in the right direction and anything else is overthinking which is something I try to avoid.
I'm very close to getting down to my lowest weight in recent history. Weight is coming off predictably and I can see changes in my body.
Going back to the Dex scan. It gives you a printout of how much fat you carry in every part of your body so when I get my follow up I'll be able to see where the fat came off.
Monday is the second weigh in and I'm shooting to show a larger loss than week 1.6 -
Second weigh in was yesterday. Everything is going better than expected. First off I'm down three more inches for a total of seven since I started the program.
I weighed in at 205.8 so I'm down 12.4 from my beginning weight of 218.2.
The diet portion of the challenge is the easiest part for me. The workouts continually push me harder every day.
I've been going in on Saturday which is the makeup day to push myself just a little bit harder. The coaches are constantly looking over and either critiquing or complementing my form.
My current weight is a huge milestone for me. I have not been this low since somewhere around 1997. Feels good man.13 -
Week three down. Went off the diet rails last week because of some personal problems but rallied on the weekend for a 4.2 pound loss. That puts me at 201.6 for a total loss of 16.6 over the three weeks.
The workouts are more difficult on paper yet easier to push through. I'm going to dial in my diet tighter from here on out, I will up the calories a bit so I feel better during workouts and I am going to another gym to do some extra cardio and some accessory work . I am at the head of my group weight loss wise and possibly even percentage.
Next weigh in will have me in the 100s which is another great mental milestone. I'm making a reaching goal of getting to 188.2 for a 30 pound loss in the 6 weeks.6 -

Had my week 4 weigh in Monday. After being a bit loose with my diet I buckled down hard over the weekend and was able to show a nice 3.2 pound loss for the week. That brought me to 19.8 total lost and most importantly to me out of the 200s. Seeing 198.4 on the scale felt like a huge victory. Going forward I will be hitting my other gym for lifting before I hit the CrossFit gym. Yesterday I stopped at old Navy and bought myself a new shirt. In the fitting room I realized I'm now a legit size medium. It fits me well but I can tell if I put on 5 pounds it would be too tight so it's a motivating factor to keep losing. I went on a first date last night and all of the work I have put in just sort of paid off. I felt good about fitting in the new shirt and how my size 34 jeans are now loose. I've always had good self confidence but I was just on another level and she picked up on it. So this challenge has me physically and mentally fitter.
I'm dialing in my diet this week and doubling down on the gym so I can post a nice loss on Monday.9 -
That is such an unhealthy rate of loss.6

Why are gyms doing this? I thought they were supposed to promote healthy habits not losing ridiculous amounts of weight in short periods of time.3

It's not unhealthy if I'm eating enough calories. Why is everyone here so negative? I lost 70 pounds in 5 months by changing my eating habits and did very little cardio. Now I'm spending 3-4 hours a week working hard and am being called out because apparently 3-4 pounds a week is too much. Don't forget I started off at 33% body fat.8

It's hard to believe you're eating enough calories when you're losing 3-4 pounds a week. That's a deficit of up to 2,000 calories per day.8 -

Keep posting your progress here. I find it interesting. Every body is different and what works for one won't necessarily work for all but it can be a learning experience for some.
People don't always know when they're undereating. Sometimes the consequences show up later -- we see the threads here sometimes about people wondering why they suddenly feel so awful, why they're losing hair, etc. It's because they've been undereating for a prolonged period and it's finally catching up with them.
Our bodies often have the capability to temporarily maintain under less than optimal conditions before things catch up with us. It's a good thing for our survival, but it's something to be aware of when we're on very rigorous weight loss programs.6 -
The true test will be the Dex scan I take after the challenge ends. I will see how much fat I lost and whatever changes happened in my lean mass.
I cannot under eat for very long or my weight loss stalls. I learned this already.

So your program defies the laws of physics. Outstanding. You should get some scientists on board to follow this phenomenon, I'm sure they'd be thrilled to be the first ones to break the news.11 -

It's an equation so you can't consider just one side. Increasing your CI increased your energy which helped you perform better at your workout and your daily life activities so your CO went up.7
