7/17 - 159.5 - Nice start to the round. We've got out of town family coming in to stay with us tomorrow for 10 days. I hope I'm able to at least maintain this weight.
7/18 - 160 - I guess I'm going to hang around here for a while.
7/19 - 159.5 - Family came in, we had pizza and drinks, and I went a little over on my weight loss calories. I'm actually surprised this number is not higher. I'll take it.
7/20 - 160 - Here's the number I was expecting yesterday.
7/21 - 158.5 - I was not expecting this after last night! We had Chinese take out and drinks. I stayed pretty close to weight loss calories, but I thought the sodium would send my weight up. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
7/22 - 158.5 - It's nice to see this number again.

7/17 184.2 bad start to my week calories wise, but I did workout, I did day 5 of the 30 day shred, and although I haven't worked out 5 days consistently im at least working out. I need to do better.
7/18 I83.4 I didnt workout yesterday nor this morning I just felt so tired and slept through. Last week I started good like I always do but then the 2nd week comes and I drag, I'm not watching what I eat as much but I'm still trying to work out in the afternoon,at least it helps me stay the same, but that's not why I'm here. IM HERE TO LOOSE THE WEIGHT. I'm going to prep for the rest of the week, because the next 2 weekends I'm going out of town. I have to at least be under 180.
7/19 183.6 a little disappointed but not really, this is to wake me up, that I need to get back on the ball. I'm supposed to be at 182 by now, I just need to keep moving don't give up.
7/20 183.0 that's more like it, now to continue to go down, and on the weekend of all days smh this is going to be hard. First I didnt workout this morning, and I don't know if I'm going to be able to workout tonight. Then tomorrow I work in the morning, so I can't go running, I'm thinking of coming back home and working out. But then we are doing a cookout of steaks that night. Sunday we are going to a friends house who is doing brisket ribs and chicken, omg my weekend is full of food. I have to find a way to workout if I will be able to eat without gaining any of it back.
7/21 182.6 yay so happy but scared please help me keep it off, I'm so close to my mini goal of 179
7/22 182.8 uhm ok ate really bad but did 30 day shed level 1 so not bad, but I still have today to worry about and I can't go running smh, really going to watch my portions ok n sizes.

“7/22 159.4 Just got the HAPPY SCALE app, and for a data geek like me this is perfect! There are all sorts of way to track your progress and break the big goals down, love it! Thanks @MadisonMolly2017 for the recommendation! It tells me that if I continue at my current weight loss rate I will reach my final goal in 13 weeks. Love this!”
@denicaswrex Thanks!! I’m so glad you found it helpful!! It’s life-changing, I found!! Both for weight loss AND maintenance- but then, I’m a data geek, too, which seems to really help with nutrition & weight management! Hehe, we’re so lucky to have all these apps!
My next recommendation is the FITIV app (free).
Back story: I monitor my calories burned and calories eaten to make sure I don’t have a > 400 cal deficit at any time (except while I’m asleep!) This is based on research with athletes which showed if the number of hours in 24 that their deficit dropped below 400 calories was greater than 3, the had 9 different negative outcomes (higher cortisol, testosterone, muscle loss, lower performance, etc.)
So, I started paying attention to this. LO and behold, if my calorie deficit gets to -350 to -400, I’m getting hungry. After my long hike yesterday, I had a deficit of -950 and hadn’t brought food. My
Mind was saying “Go eat out! Go eat out!”
With increasing volume. I was thinking of restaurants & foods I never do- mostly high fat. Luckily my husband prevailed and got us home where I ate my normal fare.
So, the FITIV app calculates my calorie deficit real time. Saving me tons of time. And so easy. I check it before each meal to gauge the amt of food I should prepare. By more closely matching my calories in to calories burned, I have more energy & no cravings."
(I had been calculating my calorie deficit by going to iHealth and adding my Apple Watch’s Resting & Active Energy & the subtracting my Calories Eaten.)
Now FITIV does that - and a lot more! A nicely laid out workout visual, customizable display, etc.
I also use the deficit on the rare times that I feel like eating, but am not sure I really need to. And if the deficit is under 150, I’ll wait or drink some water or take a walk or do something fun. A good check!
Best to you, and thanks again!6 -

This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
7/17 134.0 Happily maintaining below 135. We didn’t eat until almost 5 so yesterday was a one meal day. My first keto-versary 167.5 to 134 in one year by changing to the ketogenic way of eating with no exercise.
7/18 132.5 DH, DD#2 & grandkids x3 were supposed to go 6 Flags in Missouri but DH has done something to his neck. He and I have no car here so no one left and kids will miss 6 Flags.(My diagnosis is pinched nerve which was tentatively confirmed by Urgent Care doc)
7/19 132.0 DD#2 just texted they are on the way. Two kids have to fly back to Las Vegas tonight because their mother won’t allow them to do something extra with our daughter. Family reunion is Saturday in southern Illinois. Now DH and I will be able to attend DHD#1’s graduation party on Saturday.
7/20 133.0 Had dinner late (waiting for DD#1 who is a nurse) at Cici’s. Pizza in a bowl, no crust. An interesting video I saw yesterday — https://www.facebook.com/JamesSmithPT/videos/1494099927361618/

7/18...177...😒. Still staying within my means and exercising daily. It's been crazy hot and our ac hasn't been able to keep up so sleeping has been a little difficult. I'm groping around for excuses, it seems. I don't know. I know it'll catch up, but it sure is frustrating when nothing seems to be changing.
7/19...177...it's been crazy hot. Ac is getting fixed today- yay! stayed below my calorie intake yesterday, just barely- but had a shot of whiskey in a little Dr Pepper at the end of the day- a very rare occurrence. Tend to avoid glutinous foods because they give me gut pain but had some last Friday. Wondering if some of this sudden weight gain is inflammation from that.
7/20...174... hmmm. Love the drop but feeling a little skeptical.

2. 3 lb loss to land at 183.0 or less
3. No Bingeing
4. No “cheat days” only “Earn days”. No “Earn Days” only “Earn Meals” which are much easier to bounce back from.

6. Lots of water, green tea daily, apple cider vinegar before carby meals.
7. Check my blood sugar daily for improvements.

R45 SW 192.4 EW 191.4 - 1.0 lbs Loss

R47 SW 186.0 EW = TBD
Day/Weight/Comment
7/17 187.6 From one dish of vanilla icecream? Yikes….. Will likely get worse tomorrow. Today is a business luncheon at the pizza buffet. My diet will be off but I will make this my “earn meal” and do good in the evening. Good luck everyone on this new challenge! My son’s weight yesterday 288.2. He was down 4 more pounds. Fantastic!
7/18 189.6 Wait a minute! I did not eat 2 whole pounds of food at the pizza buffet yesterday! But I did eat 4 small pieces and some water. Also, some sweet snacks at the late night binge. I guess I deserve this giant leap up. I walked over 12,000 steps yesterday including my brisk 1.5 mile neighborhood walk. I intermittent fasted 14:10 due to the luncheon being earlier than I usually begin eating. Lots of fluids. I did a few things right anyway. Today I will stay focused and not get derailed!
7/19 188.2 Yesterday I ate 18 net carbs. 1456 calories . Lots of healthy fats. A little low on protein. 66 oz. of water. No planned exercise but over 10,000 steps on the fitbit. Working my way back down to my starting point of 186.0 then reaching desperately for 183.0. Hope everyone has a good day!
7/20 189.2 last minute night out last night with friends. 1 large beef and bean burrito led to an all night binge. Totally out of control. Ate everything in sight and could not seem to get full or satisfied. This is how it happens if I veer off my diet, even just for a minute. This shows that I still do not have control over my eating habits when presented with foods outside of my home or other completely controlled environments. I have a lot to learn and a long way to go. Hanging my head in frustration, guilt and shame. Good points: 11,713 steps yesterday. My brisk 1.5 mile neighborhood walk.
7/21 188.4 Yesterday 13,746 steps. 13/13 (250 step hours) on fitbit. Rained all day, no neighborhood walk. 963 calories in (a bit too low) 2720 calories out. 23 net carbs . Still feeling sluggish after all the bingeing junk I ate on Thursday. Expecting thunderstorms all day today. Thanks to all for the encouraging words yesterday. The support here on MFP makes a world of difference!
7/22 187.6. Low steps yesterday at 6,275. Hit 13/13 (250 step hours) on fitbit. Thunderstorms so no walk. Ate 24 net carbs and 1454 calories including delicious homemade Keto Holista Pizza. My blood sugar before my dinner was 105 (much better than the consistent over 500 I used to get!). And this improvement is after my 4 glyburide was removed by my doctor. Only metformin now but still at a large dose, so I continue to work on this and hope any continued weight loss will help put me in remission from this type 2 diabetes. I started in January with the goal of losing 90 pounds. I have 42.2 pounds to go so I am over halfway there. Overall, yesterday was a success. 2 have 2 new goals: 1. Learn how to hold my stomach in again which would help work my muscles. With a large diabetic belly I have not been able to do this in over 10 years. Now my stomach is small enough but it hurts like exercise, so I persist until it can be second nature again. Goal 2: to be able to cross my legs again. I am almost there! Have a good day everyone!

R1: Lost 1.7 (SW 196.8)
R2: Lost 0.7 (SW 195.1)
SW: 198.1
GW: 192.0 (Steep but I'm going to be losing water weight since I hadn't been watching my diet the past week or so.)
7/17 198.1 I didn't finish the last round. I was upset because I had gained weight and when I do gain weight I just go through a time where I just don't care about what I'm eating. I REALLY want to fix this and be more flexible and just because I have one bad day doesn't mean I should sabotage the rest of my days. On top of that my relatives had come over making it even harder to watch what I ate. So here's to getting back at it.
7/18
7/19- 196.6 thank god the 198 was just a fluctuation. I'm going to try to make sure I don't fluctuate anymore. I did an 18 hour fast today which I broke a little bit ago. I feel pretty full right now so I'm planning on this one big meal to be it for the rest of the day which I think is doable. I'm going to be really consistent the next few days and make sure to stay motivated. I'm going to meal prep and everything.
7/20- 196.7 I accidentally weighed myself AFTER I ate lol so I'd like to think that this number would be lower otherwise. But we'll see tomorrow. I worked out yesterday and again today so I'm happy about that. I've been increasing the amount of running I do (at 6.5 mph) by 10 second increments every time I go for a run. I'm at 3 minutes and 30 seconds of running currently and started at 3 minutes. I know it's not much but baby steps. I believe this is the right way to go about it. Maybe by the end of the challenge I can get to 4 minutes straight of running?
7/21- 194.7 (told you so about the water weight lol) So I worked out yesterday. I can't go to the gym today so no running until Monday but I'm going to try to do my mat exercises at night. I'll let you know how that goes. Already drank a half liter of water. Haven't had a proper breakfast. Going to go ahead and do that right now. I'm going to be under my calorie deficit today hopefully as well so that I can continue the downward trend. Really happy about this number. It motivates me to continue.
7/22 194.7 Was above my calorie limit yesterday. Won't be today. Couldn't get to my mat exercises either. Maybe tonight.

7/19- Finally had some more sleep last night 10:00- 3:45 that is like three nights sleeper me. Great weather spent a lot of time out doors walking, outside makes me feel like a million dollars.
7/20- went for my radiation appointment and then weekly doctors appointment I am doing fantastic I am so fortune. Did a lot of walking today.
7/21 Tried to replace protein smoothie instead of eating bread, my diet is really hard being on steroids I really have to watch my food choices. Walking helps, 13,600 steps. Going to try to exercise more and try to get some yoga in too.
7/22 Today was a busy cooking morning starting at 2:00 am. We went to a birthday party for my grandson which is
birthday is tomorrow. Ready to start the week walking and yoga are on the list. Week # 5 radiation- 11 more.

7/17--177.2 Going back down. It was sooo hard to lose these few pounds, apparently I wanted to do it all over again They came back on over a few days of getting off track, so hopefully they will go away just as quickly. Fingers crossed!
7/18--176.0 Keep it going...
7/19--175.0 Excellent! I'm happy to know that a handful of bad days isn't going to totally wreck my progress, it's just taking me the same amount of days to recover, and that's okay. Today might be hard; I barely slept last night. I just have a lot of things on my mind coupled with going to bed hungry. I don't make a habit of this but darn it, I was already over my calories and stubbornly didn't want to eat more, so I went to bed. Well, I was hungry all night and I am sooo hungry this morning! Hopefully a good dose of protein will do the trick. Pilates class tonight.
7/20--174.8 Woohoo!
7/21--176.0
7/22--No weigh in; we took an impromptu weekend road trip, so I might be paying for that on the scale for the next couple of days. It was fun though!

I am SO SO determined!! I 100% NEED to stay mindful about my daily logging and being mindful about what I eat and drink. I need to get into the HEALTHY BMI band.
This is a long term thing, a few bad days or weeks is something I'm getting better at coping with.

Focus for this round: 1g/kg/day Protein
Day/Weight/Comment
7/17: 70.7 - Can you actually not. Good day yesterday, ate reasonably well and had a good 90 minutes of Judo in the evening. Someone bought cake into the office, so that piece of fruit missed out in favour of a smallish slice of cake. With no scales I have no idea how heavy it was, so I had to guesstimate. Probably wasn't the best choice, but I've not had cake for ages and it didn't half taste goood. Still in deficit, weight trend is still generally downwards for the last two weeks (and level for the last week). Got to trust the deficit and not get disheartened by the number on the scale.
7/18: 70.3 - Finally going back in the right direction! Spent all day yesterday feeling super boated and hungry. Was a massive trial to not go completely over. Ate a largish, bready breakfast which completely messed me up for the rest of the day (because fresh bread is hard to log so I had to do my best estimate). Standard lunch (although I dropped and stepped on one of my strawberries ). And scraped it back to a sensible day with a veg heavy pasta dish for tea. 69g of protein for the day
7/19: 69.8 - Yaaaas. Got around to properly logging my lunch (as opposed to using my "generic salad" entry). Turns out I've been eating much less than I thought I was, no wonder I was so hungry at lunch! Tried a new chocolate protein bar as a snack at work. Not great on the calories, but really stays the hunger pangs and still kept below my calories for the day (even with the pizza and garlic bread dinner). 70g of protein for the day (bang on!)
7/20: 70.5 - Tired and lazy all day. Ate takeaway for dinner and completely blew my calories for the day. No calories listing for the takeaway so had to guess with the entries on the database. Probably way out in every way. Just hoping that the calories weren't as high as I logged them at (probably wishful thinking). Not surprised with the weigh in amount. 147g of protein for the day.
7/21: 70.5 - Didn't make it to training in the evening, felt way too tired. Calories good though. 65g of protein for the day.
7/22: 70.5 - Worked it out, probably spent about 7 hours on the Judo mat, half training, half teaching. Completely dead by the end of the day. 67g of protein for the day.
7/23: 70.5 - More time on the Judo mat today (about 4 hours), mostly teaching though. Still completely shattered. Also, seem to have hit a sticking point. I've always had some daily fluctuations, so this sudden stationary stop seems really odd to me. I did weigh myself in the evening to test if my scales did weigh different (they did), so I don't know what's happening right now. On the bright side, NSV are showing up in abundance right now. Down 1 inch on the waist, skirt that was always a little big (but recently fitted really well) is a little too big again, tried on that figure hugging long silver dress, and it didn't look awful. Yeah, definitely going in the right direction. 66g of protein for the day.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

7/17 210.6 Was disappointed. Hoping to go down had really watched what I had ate. Had a late supper because I had worked late, maybe…. Tomorrow is a new day. Need to drink water and watch what I eat.
7/18 210.4 at least in the right direction. If only I didn’t LNE last night. Urggg.
7/19 209.3 That was a great start to my day!!!!
7/20 207.8 Yes! Yes! Amazing! What a shock. No LNE last night! This could motivate me to stop eating so late and so obsessively
7/21 206.7 I don’t feel this is deserved (but I will take it) my inactivity yesterday is bound to show up some day.
