@425Recess So sorry about the IBS! I was diagnosed w ulcerative colitis as a young child, but I have been very lucky and it is more like IBS now. I hope you find a successful way to manage it. *hug*1

@g_anson Hi, Gwen! I hope you heal quickly! Have you checked with your doc about strength training? I just jumped into it, and wound up making my pelvic floor issues worse. (Excessive walking also didn't help.) Just thought I would put that out there, as it appears to not be considered in choosing resistance plans.2

Successes/struggles of the week: I see my trend creeping up again... but my strength gains have been fabulous lately! It’s a fine balance there that I still need to tweak - strength gains versus weight gains. I go back to the gym to have my body pod assessment done soon so I will find out soon enough what progress I’ve been making in muscle gain (photo below - I think I’m looking strong!).
On a separate topic, FB shared a memory of me from 3 years ago this week from my trip to Hawaii. I don’t even look like the same person! I sent the photo to my husband and he thought it was photoshopped at first before he realized that I really was that much larger before I started my health journey. Makes me even more motivated to make sure I never end up back at that weight.
Lots of potentially stressful events coming up - house hunting starts tomorrow and law school starts in 1.5 weeks. Just have to take it one day at a time. Hoping I can still keep the momentum going - still no Fitbit or calorie counting! The next few weeks/months will put my healthy habits to the sustainability test!

Joined Gym and went once. Went for a longish walk yesterday after dinner. Colleague-friend helping me a lot. Good focus at times on some work. Met a couple of friends for a drink.
Struggles of the week: Am about 3 k over maintenance. various stuff to sort out. impossible amount of paperwork to manage. material stuff to sort out. would like to get to gym at least 3 times a week. it's 5 min walk.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I want to switch to a loose form of intermittent fasting since it seems to help insulin resistance (not diabetic, just have family history). For me this would mean eating 8-5. Curious if other maintainers find that helpful or hurtful to maintenance (I would eat maintenance calories, just forgoing nighttime snacks -replacing them midday).4 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I seem to be holding at the low end of my range. I turned 50 this year so I will be having a colonoscopy on Wednesday. I've been trying to make sure I eat plenty leading up to the day of liquid diet and colon cleansing. I don't want my weight to dip too low from that. I did eat a couple of really big meals this weekend. It was my 28th wedding anniversary, so we celebrated some. My goal for this week is just to do the best I can to make sure I don't under eat any days except Tuesday and possibly Wednesday.5 -

Successes/struggles of the week: I officially started the arduous process of buying a new house! Applied for the mortgage yesterday, put down the good faith deposit, have the home inspection today... I wasn’t expecting to find the perfect house on the first outing with the realtor, so this is a lot of craziness in complement to the new job and my first semester of law school (starts Thursday).
I know how I react in high stress long term - I end up using food as an aspect of my life that I can control (now that I have tools to do that). So, I venture to guess you won’t see me stray out of my range once the stress kicks into high gear around mid-October.
Otherwise, surprised my average is down this week as my husband and I went to an all you can eat buffet 2x. Guess I’m getting better at enjoying the company more than the food.

Didn't ever get over 150.6. When I started my journey, my initial ending goal was about 150 pounds. I revised it down, so I think I need to see 150 as a success even though it's outside of my current maintenance range.
Struggle of the week:
I'm clearly outside my maintenance range this week, and I need to tighten up to keep from regaining any more.
