The daily fluctuations don’t get to me, so I like to know my range. I will occasionally weight myself 2x/day (morning and evening) so that I understand what my daily fluctuation looks like. I use my morning weight to log into MyFitnessPal and track my progress. The monthly weight fluctuations from hormones and water retention sometime will be discouraging, but now that I have logged on this app for a considerable time, it doesn’t affect the overall trend in my “Progress” tab so I try to not let it get me down!4

Hi, I’d like to join, too. I have lost 62.9 lbs since Jan, 2016. (~40 lbs in the past 10 months.) 5’8.5”
I hit my High End Normal BMI weight recently, but I can see that I need to lose more: probably at least 10 lbs.
My goal is to lose 1-2 lbs per month, gradually easing into maintenance (and further cementing my new habits) & giving my skin a chance to adjust a bit.

Hi,
I am 54, weigh 154lb (11st). but 12 months ago I only weighed 133lb (9.5st). so I really need to ajust my habits. I have changed my job. I used to be a full time waitress walking miles and miles every day but I am now a mature art student in college trying to get a degree before im 60!! Obviously te daytime snacking instead of proper meals and the glass ....or two to ease the stress each nigh has taken its toll. I just want my clothes to feel comfortable again and i want my confidence back. School term starts again on monday so......fingers crossed.

If you haven’t read it, check out “Old in At School” by Nell Painter (one of Oprah’s Best of Summer books)...a Princeton History Professor goes to Art School (BFA) and then gets her MFA, beginning at age 65!!!0 -
HI. I would like to join. I'm starting my journey today. I'm 64 and 5'2" and weigh 164. The summer has been hard with lots of company (1/3 of the time) and the extra food that goes along with hospitality. I'm also a stress eater and just have bad snacking habits. Thanks for this challenge. The 20 pounds will get my within 10 of my goal weight.3

Hi All...Would love to join and give and receive support. I'm 56, 5'1" and 127. I have a small frame, so ideal weight is 110.
I think mid-life blahs have grasped hold of me and are holding strong. All my life, I was always going for that next challenge. High school, college, marriage, kids, grad school (I was the only mother in my MBA program--you GO, all you adult students!), management job....and now kids are grown, job is not challenging (and ageism is real)...and so have been drinking a lot of wine--and overeating goes hand in hand with that. I'm hoping I can get energized and go for some athletic and creative/writing challenges as well as figure out a volunteer opportunity that's fulfilling and gives me a sense of giving back.
Thank you for the challenge.
Goals:
1 pound per week
Work out gym 4x/wk @ 40 min, 2.3 mile run weekly, challenging outdoor activity each wknd
Write 3 hrs/wk
Volunteer 1 hr/wk

The scale isn't my friend. I have started Lift4 through Beachbody and this will be week 3 for me. I have maintained my weight but no weight loss. I am thinking that it's because I am working out and maybe my fat is turning into muscle? I'm not going to get discouraged and hope to see more results after week 4.1 -
Friday check-in, week 4 and 5:
7/20: 164.4
7/27: 162.8
8/3: 161.8
8/10: 161.4
8/17: 163.6 (ouch - what the heck?)
8/24: could not weigh in - traveling
Current weight this morning was 164. I was traveling all last week and not able to log my food. It seems that I've gained back most of the weight I lost during this challenge. I'm feeling pretty discouraged. To make things worse, I will be on vacation for the next week and a half. I will be lucky if I don't gain any more weight.

@karenvandam
The same happened To me in July even though I tracked the food and packed a lot of it from home. I was really discouraged. But once I got back in the game all of the weight came off and then some leading to August been my greatest weight-loss ever.
There seem to be at least two schools of thought.
1) Go and enjoy yourself and then just know that you’ll have to re-lose it when you get back.
2) Remember your reasons for wanting to lose weight and become healthier & continue tracking and making wise choices. Remain mindful. Do the best that you can.
Wishing you a joyful vacation!1 -

Checking in after day one. I managed to keep to the 1000 calories and walked a short loop.3

Wednesday check in - I'm a night owl so 145am PST actually.
Stressful week, busy, exams and assessment test Friday for a new job. Did well enough to get an interview. Fun fundraiser Car Wash with friends Sunday - brownies, cookies, chips and dips, plus sugary adult beverages to keep the crew happy. Fun but way over ate. I got plenty of exercise though. Interview was to be Tuesday, rescheduled to today, extra day of stressing - and bad snacking! But I did fit into a pair of pants that we're too tight in June and got a conditional job offer!! Drug test & background check and a new career start at 57yr. ahead. Positive energy and prayers appreciated.
