8/26 - 257.2...forgot to weigh this morning when I first got up.
8/27 - 257.2...bad food choices, no exercise and another late weigh in.
8/28 - 257.2...I really need to get my head back into this and re-find my motivation. Went for a walk yesterday but had take out for lunch and supper so I was still way over on calories. And I haven't been drinking nearly enough water..I keep choosing diet pop instead
8/29 - 257.2...did a little better yesterday. Still went over calories but not by nearly as much..stayed well under maintenance. No water yesterday at all, so I'm starting today with a huge glass, staying away from the diet soda and hoping I can finally get back on track and stay there.
8/30 - 256.2...100 oz of water and 3 walks yesterday. Went over calories but was still under maintenance.
8/31 - 255.4...100 oz of water and 2 walks. Ate within calories, well the exercise ones too. I haven't been to the gym in 2 weeks but plan to start back tonight.
9/01...forgot to weigh this morning. My son decided 3:30 was a good time to get up for the day and now my whole day is off.
9/02 - 255.4...had some high sodium food yesterday and only 75 oz of water. Would have stayed under calories but a friend asked me to go for ice cream last night..it was yummy though!

Started the day right with homebyoga practice. Then reorganised our shed, including moving heavy tiles and started going for a run, but ended up just walking as my legs were too heavy. Today, I've already been to a boxing class and will go for a walk again later to get my steps in (and time away from the MIL).
NSV: I've been over eating/drinking Fri and Sat, but I logged it and didn't let it derail the plan completely

I'm focusing again this round on following the anti-inflammatory diet I started a couple of weeks ago, with daily walks and meditation.
Goals:
Food ~~ 1430 calories max; P 15-25%, C 35-50%, F 25-35%; anti-inflammatory diet.
Exercise: 60 minutes/day of walking/swimming + daily stretching.

Yesterday was a salad day and I filled up so much on veggies, fruit, and protein that I just couldn't eat any more. I figure the low calories won't hurt short term, and I'm pretty excited to be less than 2 pounds from my goal for the year. This is uncharted territory!

I'm going to aim for a few more calories today - not crazy about going so low, although I'm filling up just fine at meals. But I know this isn't a good idea for very long. OTOH, I'm feeling itchy now to drop the last 1.8 - still can't believe I'm within spitting distance of my goal!

I'm feeling really good today - very little pain - so hoping to work in my poor, neglected garden a bit and to do some organizing in my home office -- I haven't been able to do that effectively due to pain bending. I'm not "fixed" yet, but I do feel the anti-inflammatory diet + B12 boost + occasional NSAID is making a big difference. And my ticker this morning makes me smile! Have a lovely weekend, all!

I went for a lovely walk last evening and then spent about 45 minutes reading in the county extension office's gorgeous garden, created and maintained by the local Master Gardeners. I like to walk and dream there of my own garden in a year or two (our new yard is a blank slate) and to occupy one of the benches or chair & table set ups to read or meditate. Beautiful place. Here's a glimpse. Take yourself to a beautiful place, alone, and fill yourself up.

My BMI just hit "Normal" at 24.9! WOOHOO! That said, BMI is not really a good measure of healthy weight, especially for people in the second half of their first century. But still! My doctor can now take that "health risk" off my chart, thank you very much. One to go to hit my current target. Who knew an anti-inflammatory diet would take those last 10 pounds off? And it seems to be working on other levels, too, as I'm much less achy. That's it -- breakfast time! Have a lovely Sunday, all.

Going to try and get to the grocery store today to get some more fruits/veggies, so I can snack on those on days when I need the extra calories. I'm happy that I'm getting full quicker though, that's a plus. A couple months ago I wanted to eat everything in the house!

9/02 160 😊. Got a good walk in yesterday before it got too humid out, and did zumba. The past several days I've been exhausted, more so than normal. Have thought about increasing my calories a little. I am currently not taking any vitamins because they have always made me sick, but I may have to try them again.

8/28 185.4 Lifted this AM and then ran/walked a mile. Date night tonight.. trying to figure out a good meal to stay within my calories feels challenging. Drinking a big glass of water before we go. Trying not to focus on the number, just getting in the groove of checking in.

I have been rounding up but I think I'm going to just start putting in what it actually says. Like I know the second to last 230 it kept flickering from 229 to 230 then the next day was a solid 230 but today flickered 228 before settling into 229. I guess at least the flickering is showing me a trend in the right direction!

8/26 Happy Sunday all!
Today – 133 pounds. I’m taking advantage of this beautiful day with less smoke in the air. Going for a walk with a friend on the green belt. Nice scenery. Squeezing in yard work. Glad to be outside again.

Lots of special events coming up this week. A champagne breakfast for a friend tomorrow, Monday a retirement reception for our beloved pediatrician, Wednesday a goodbye lunch for our summer staff who are leaving to go back to school (Ethiopian food - tracking that will be a challenge). 8/26 154.8 Impromptu much needed date night last night, adult beverages and fried appetizers but so worth it. Last round was difficult, although I did pull it together at the end. My plan for this next 10 days is to continue my 5/7 days of exercise, log everything (some nights when I go off the rails I don't log) and get to152 for this round. My weight loss has slowed, but that is a direct result of my actions. Just remembering its a long game, not a sprint, and slow loss is still good because it is giving me more time to truly ingrain the habits and the lifestyle that will make this loss sustainable for the long haul.
8/27 WEIGH IN DAY 155.2 Hmmm...Too much snacking and not enough moving. Ate at maintenance yesterday. Today is Monday, a new week. I have had 2 rounds of stagnancy, this means that if I get a hold of my sticktoitiveness I can reach my 152.xx goal without much crying!
Time to refocus on why I am doing this.
1. I want to feel good about my body
2. Hard is good.
3. I like to work towards a goal.
4. I am setting an example for my family

8/29 154.8 It appears I am stuck hovering here since the beginning of round 50. I know I have not been as diligent as when I started the challenge at keeping my calories low, but I have not gone over excessively. My weight did hold here at 155-157 for several years, so maybe it's my comfort weight? Slightly chubby but not too bad? I know I need to step up the exercise so I can see inch results, and I have to a degree, but have been putting off the next level. I will take measurements later and see if there is any change there since my weight loss has slowed to .5 lb a week.
8/30 154.2 Good walk, hills, eating within range. Really hoping to see a bigger drop soon...bbq Saturday at my house with lots of food, stressful for me must remember to stay calm and not stuff my face.

9/01 154.6 Stress triggered carb loading. I get anxiety about entertaining. I have lots of tools to deal with it, but sometimes I think I just want to be upset. Not sure if this is hormonal or what. I went through a period of being okay with everything, I thought I had life and the secrets all figured out, but then I discovered that this was not true. Life brought me a lot of challenges and tests, this year especially, and sometimes I feel lost again, though I have so so so much to be appreciative and grateful for.
9/02 152.8 Survived the BBQ. What really worked for me was to fast. It helped my anxiety and also eliminated alcohol and mindless eating. I had one egg in the morning, then throughout the party I just drank pellegrino, and then had a small dinner when everyone left. It was *mostly* stress and anxiety free, plus I lost instead of gained! This is the first time I have done this intentionally as a tool and it really helped me. I think I will also do this next week at another party we are invited to. I have tried using moderation, but that is so much harder than abstinence when I am in a stressful situation. Today is cleanup and a nice long walk with my neglected pups, light eating to keep this trend! ***Thank you for all the ((hugs)) yesterday! It really helps!

9/1 / 221.8 / That was a surprise! I guess I'm no longer retaining quite so much water! It was a bit of a late weigh-in, but I'll take it! That takes me to 30 pounds lost.
9/2 / 221.6 / I had nachos yesterday. I limited the damage but should probably avoid nachos for the most part. Of course, I don't think I have had nachos for about five years, so I guess I have been avoiding them pretty effectively!

8/27: 204.6. My start date. Off to a good start. 1 hour of exercise, 5 servings of fruits/veggies, 60 oz of water, and under my calorie goal.
8/28: 203.8. I got lots of walking in today and my legs are still sore from yesterday. I didn't drink as much water today and had popcorn and chicken fried steak so I'll probably see an increase in weight when I weigh again tomorrow morning. I was under my calories for today though. I completed my food log at the beginning of the day and substituted foods if I was craving something else.
8/29: 202.2. Another pleasant surprise this morning. My legs are still sore so today I used the stationary bike and did upper body strength training. Under calorie goal again. Tomorrow I probably won't have time to exercise so I really need to watch my calorie intake.
8/30: 202.2. No change. Goal for the day is drink water, stay under calorie goal, and try to exercise a little while even though it's a busy day.
8/31: 204.0. I felt stressed most of the day yesterday. I probably ate more calories than I thought I did. Didn't drink as much water. I didn't exercise. Had 1 beer. Time to get back on track today.
9/01: 202.0. Stay strong this weekend. Don't over do it.
9/02: 202.8. Too many sweets yesterday. Went grocery shopping yesterday and am able to plan meals and snacks to stay with calorie goal.
