My lowest weight was 206.8 on Keto. I am now at 208.2. If I am not back in the 205 or 206 range by Monday, I am jumping back on the Keto diet to guide me through the final 40 pounds of weight to lose.
I am in month five of this WOE and have dropped fifty pounds. I am a male, doing ~1300 cals, 30g carbs, 98g fat and ~100g protein per day.
To me, this WOE is not about weight loss per se. It is about detoxing your body and letting it normalize. Weight loss will occur naturally as your body transitions from glycogenesis to being ketogenic.
Besides being very low carb, this WOE is naturally very low in sugar.
The anti-inflammatory effects of this WOE are also very obvious, and some of which are not obvious. I went to the dentist the other day after not going for nearly two years. The hygienist was amazed at the condition of my gums, of all things. She said she would have never known that I had been away for so long because they were in perfect condition! No pockets, no bleeding during cleaning, barely a bit of plaque and no inflammation at all! Something I never even thought about. That was very inspirational to me because having those gums not swollen nor inflamed was an amazing benefit of which I never thought. So of course we started chattering away about keto. Kind of funny too because your mouth is usually full of dental equipment. And she's asking me all these questions and stopping the cleaning to hear the answers. The cleaning took a lot longer, but it didn't matter because keto'ers are always happy to talk about the diet.
Other posters here are correct in saying that one should find something that works and stick to it. Keto is such a drastic change in diet that jumping in and out of it is probably not going to be very effective.
Can i ask what you think you are detoxing? All you are doing is doing is switching substrates, so inceasing fat oxidation (from increased fat consumption) and reducing carb oxidation (from decreasing carbs). Glucenogenesis occurs more while following keto as glucenogenesis is the process of converting amino acids and fatty acids into glucose.
Detoxing comes from eating as cleanly as possible, no nitrates, nitrites, nor anything artificial. My kitchen is ~90 organic. I can tell the difference, whether real or imagined. Three of the numerous organic items I have in my kitchen are the ones where I can tell the difference just by taste. Organic cottage cheese(a bit drier than regular, but tastes cleaner), organic pickles(very clean tasting) and organic grape tomatoes(much sweeter than regular). Everything else tastes pretty much the same to me.11 -

Ok, it's more of a belief/placebo then anything else. Because a body naturally detoxes itself through liver and intestines.
Glad you are enjoying it, though. Personally, I only organic when it taste better, because there is no evidence that organic is better than non. I actually have found that some locally grown/grass fed has been more beneficial in some instances.5 -
