Because they could never top a gas station scene like this one from Zoolander.4 -

Best advice I could give young women is to find yourself and don't let others be in control of your happiness. You don't have to rush life. Make goals but live every day in the moment and make amazing memories because time flies by so fast. Get your education and make your own way so you don't have to depend on someone else. These are things I tell my own daughters.4 -
What do you do with the extra 20 minutes per day you save from not arguing what movie to watch or dinner to eat?0

Not specific to you, my question is to any parent (but I do value your input!)
Do parents ever resent their children?
My mom had me a month after she turned 20...she was so young.
My parents divorced when I was ~5...don't even remember.
I've always felt guilty somehow, like I wrecked their lives.
I don't have kids, never wanted to...I like kids, but always have thought that if I had one I'd resent them.3 -

Parental choices're never, their child's fault!4 -

As a divorced mom of young children I can emphatically declare a NO. I do not resent my children. If anything, they are the reason I rushed into marriage with the wrong person - I just didn't want to wait anymore to have them.
I do feel guilty though. I never wanted this for them. I had a picture of their future in my mind and divorce was not an option. I feel like I have been selfish and ruined their lives through my series of bad decisions. If anything had been different, they wouldn't be here (or this version of them wouldn't be here). But they are here, they are in this position now and all I can do is everything in my power to make it the best possible life for them.
I don't resent them. I resent myself and my ex sometimes, but never my kids8 -

Nope.
I wouldn't begin to understand that way of thinking.3 -

At what age (if any) do you consider it reasonable to be misanthropic?0

Ok so I had to look up that word, but it seems to sum me up nicely. Been getting that way the last couple years. So I'm not sure if it's because of my age, or being divorced, or just the fact that most people irritate me if I have to spend much time around them.0 -
do you think soulmates are a real thing or would you settle for someone you feel comfortable with?0

I used to believe in the concept. although maybe a soulmate could be a platonic friend or a family member and nothing romantic. However I think I have become jaded the last few years. I still have some hope that my person is out there, but geez....this world is so huge. How could there possibly be only one single soulmate per person? Surely there are different levels of soulmates. Idk...I've always found the subject fascinating.5
