Exercise Plan = The Betty Rocker 90 Day Challenge (in weeks 7-8 of 12), run outside 3-4 times a week, get 8,000-10,000 steps/day
Nutrition Plan = Continue to limit gluten, dairy, sugar, diet soda, alcohol & eat non-processed foods, protein/fruit/veg at every meal, complex carbs at breakfast and post workout meal, drink plenty of water.
9/05 = 146.2 (no change from yesterday) Yesterday was a rest day in my 90 day challenge, much needed too! Today will be day 45 exercises and I had thought to get a short run in but my legs are giving me all the NOPES! So will have to wait another day for that. Only 2 more days left for this forecast-ed horrible heat wave, bring on Fall, I want the cooler weather It makes exercising so much easier and I love running in cool temps. I'm excited for this new round, welcome to the newbies and welcome back to everyone else...."Every day is a new chance to change your life."
9/06 = 145.9 (down .3 from yesterday) Super busy day yesterday and didn't get my workout in until after 8 pm. I had hoped it would've been cooler by then but I was still a super sweaty mess after. This one was a hard workout, but felt so accomplished after completing it. Today is day 46 of 90 (halfway completed!) and is yoga which I love. This morning I noticed that I am feeling lighter in spirits as well as lighter in weight, being overweight had really affected my moods. I'm so happy to be feeling happy again
9/07 - 146.6 (up .5 from yesterday) Annoying, but not discouraging. Just normal, weird scale fluctuations, I'm used to these by now, but I would like to see it going in the other direction Patience. I'll wait for the scale to catch up and continue on kicking *kitten* with my workouts and making healthy choices with my eating. I also track with a weigh trending site and it had my trending weight yesterday a 149.03 and today 148.79, so even when the scale fluctuated up today, my trend is that I am still losing weight. "It does not matter how slow you go as long as you do not stop."
9/08 = 146.6 (no change from yesterday) Super late weigh-in today, great sleep in and there is a chill in the air this morning, such a nice change! I swapped my workout days and took yesterday as a rest day, so I've got a good challenging workout scheduled for today instead. I've been really low on my water intake the last couple of days, which is not normal for me, so need to focus better on that today as well. I'm still hoping even with the scale fluctuations this week, to make my goal of being in the "normal" BMI range within the next few days. I need to drop 1.7 pounds this round to accomplish this, totally do-able! Have a great weekend, everyone!
9/ 09 = 146.2 (down .4 from yesterday) So, the scale has settled back to the number I started this round on. Now hopefully it will start dropping again! I completed day 48 of 90 exercises yesterday and will do day 49 today which will complete week 7. Excited to start week 8 on Monday, I want to get through this!!! 90 days is hard, I will be sticking to 30 day plans from now on I went clothes shopping yesterday to a store I shopped for summer clothes in back in June before I started losing weight. I was a size 10 on bottoms and a size large for tops then and yesterday I was a size 6 for bottoms and a size small for tops. Super happy with this progress! I only bought a couple of things though because I still have a bit more weight to lose and these won't fit for too long hopefully. I also scored a dress, at a discount store, for my 15th wedding anniversary in October, it's a gorgeous Michael Kors black dress, original price $110, marked down to $29 - Bananas! Love it when that happens
9/10 = 145.7 (down .5 from yesterday) Nice downward movement on the scale this morning! Lots of running around doing errands yesterday, but got my day 49 workout in, definitely felt stronger on some of the moves than when I did it earlier in the week (each week there are 2 new workouts that get done twice each that week + a yoga workout, and 2 rest days). I put a batch of chili in the slow cooker in the morning and was glad I did that because errands ran late and I was starving - the urge to say let's just eat out (i.e. something quick and junky) was strong but knowing I had something healthy and delicious ready as soon as we got home, helped me stay on track and eat as planned. However tonight we are going out to a nice dinner, so I'm mostly fasting today and doing OMAD to stay on track with my calories. This usually works fine for me, although higher restaurant sodium may cause a slight blip up on the scale tomorrow. I'm encouraged that I now feel totally comfortable going out to dinner at this stage of my weight loss journey. I'm no longer in the place where I think one meal off plan will derail my progress. "What you do every day matters more than what you do once in a while."
9/11 = 145.1 (down .6 from yesterday) Very happy with this number after eating out last night! I had a green smoothie after my workout yesterday (I have a green smoothie everyday) and then fasted until dinner. My husband picked a Sushi/Ramen restaurant, so I was a little nervous about the sodium. But is was more an upscale/fusion restaurant than a take-away type of restaurant, so I think a little bit healthier. By the time dinner rolled around, I had already had 10 glasses of water, 2 more with dinner, so I think that helped. I ate what I wanted but just in smaller servings: pork belly bao, vegetable spring rolls, edamame in garlic butter, Korean bulgogi with rice, & a pear juice Margarita. A nice night. Today is day 51 of 90 which is a rest day in my exercise plan, but as long as the rain stays away or stays just a light drizzle I plan on getting in a short run.
9/12 = 145.5 (up .4 from yesterday) Shoot! was so close to getting to the normal BMI range and it goes back up, maybe delayed reaction from Monday's dinner. Oh, well, I'll get there soon enough. Yesterday was a rest day but I've got a tough day 52 of 90 workout scheduled for today and will try to up my water intake as well, only was at 8 glasses yesterday. Goal of 144.9 this round may not happen, but I'll try my hardest, it will be close! "A small detour doesn't mean you have to stop! It just means it may take a little longer to get there."
9/13 = 145.3 (down .2 from yesterday) This has been a really off round for me, but I had a big loss last round and I am still well ahead of the arbitrary weight loss goals I made when I started in June. While I do think weighing daily is important for me, I am less and less attached to the number emotionally. I'm not going to be upset by a specific number on the scale; it just doesn't have that power over me anymore. These days I am only really interested in how I feel during my workouts (am I getting stronger, where are areas that need improvements, how is my endurance) and with how my clothes are fitting. I tried on a pair of jeans last night that I haven't worn in at least 8-10 years and they fit! One more day left to this challenge, we'll see what it brings. If I don't hit my goal, it is just something to look forward to achieving in Round 53.

I am a 49 year old 5'4" woman. I will be 50 by the time this round ends though. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for one round.

9/05 - 145. Hanging steady, and I think I saw the needle nudging toward 144. Made time to be active yesterday and it felt so good! I picked up a midday snack yesterday that turned out to be 780 calories! It was printed right on the bag, but I didn't read it until after I ate. Oops. A light dinner and exercise helped balance the day.
9/06 - 144. Yes! Did a little fist pump when I saw a loss this morning. Today, I'm wearing a pair of pants that I bought during Round 47. I had to add a belt.
9/07 - 143.5. The scale was showing something lower than 144, so I'm calling it 143.5. Had to pick between exercise and sleep yesterday. I almost always prioritize everything else over sleep, but I picked sleep last night and got close to 8 hours. Based on how good I feel today, I'll be trying to prioritize sleep more often.
9/08 - 144. Up early for kid activities and then off to the state fair for the day.
9/09 - 145. Enjoyed an amazing grilled cheese sandwich at a restaurant near the fairgrounds late last night. It was soooo good and it comes with an outstanding tomato dipping soup. We go to that restaurant after the fair each year and I look forward to that sandwich more than I look forward to going to the fair!
9/10 - 144. Dealing with some late night snacking issues again that I need to reign in.
9/11 - 144. Solved late night eating problems last night be going to bed early last night. Looking forward to a healthy and delicious dinner tonight.
9/12 - 143.5. Yay, happy to see that again. Over 8 hours of sleep last night, which always seems to result in good things on the scale for me. In an old pair of pants today that I can finally get back into without looking like I'm stuffed in a sausage casing. 10 years ago, I bought these "fat pants" as a temporary measure to wear until I lost my pregnancy weight... Then proceeded to slowly outgrow them. Haha, now I'm happy to be back in my fat pants!
9/13 - 145. What? I didn't do anything that should have caused that. Ate in my calorie range, was active and got plenty of sleep yesterday. Off to drink a load of water to see if I can make this gain disappear tomorrow.

I'm in! Same goal as last time--to beat my lowest 10-day average (176.00). This round is going to be a struggle--TOM coming right before a trip to Disneyland. I will have to be strong!
Day/Weight/Comment
9/05--178.2 TOM
9/06--178.2
9/07--178.2 Giving myself a pep talk this morning since I think the rest of this round is kind of shot. As I look back at my numbers over the last 10-15 rounds, it doesn't look like I've made any real progress. However, I've been doing Pilates class twice a week for the last few months and I AM stronger and healthier. I've made changes to my diet that will be sustainable forever. I'm looking forward to our annual health fair at the end of the month to see what my results look like. I feel stronger and healthier and more fit than I ever have before.
9/08--Disneyland, no scale

9/10--Disneyland, no scale
9/11--Disneyland, no scale

Nice job @no1racefan1 That is amazing!! I am sure it had to do with all the walking that comes with being in Disneyland. How was it though? Did you have fun? I have never been but it is definitely somewhere I want to go.3

9/13 - 179.8 I know I did not eat enough calories to gain 3 ½ pounds overnight so I am guessing some of this is water weight. Out of town Chinese food again. It is my weakness because it is not available within 80 miles of my home so it’s often my choice when I travel. Sodium….Sodium. I will be drinking lots of lemon water today (as Tish @birdie56 recommends). I hope the scale will not be too bad at tomorrow’s final weigh in.

@birdie56 I checked my measurements from August just to see what my breast/chest size was. It is about exactly what my waist and hip size was. So I take my previous post back. I'm not SQUARE afterall. I am a rectangle! LOL. Anyway, my doctor confirmed to me recently exactly what you said. The waist is usually the last to go. Your waist/measurement goals are exactly where I would like to be. Thanks for sharing your personal information and your research with me (us). You are a Gem!
@Snowflake1968 Happy Birthday! I hope it's the BEST EVER!
@OncologyChick That also happens to me if I eat sugar or too many carbs. The cravings afterward to continue eating them goes on for days and days. I try to stick to plan so that I can get off that roller coaster. It is truly a vicious cycle. But my weakness is out of town excursions which are frequent since I live in such a rural area. It is hard to avoid restaurants & eating as a diabetic and I lose control with all the newfound options! But I am working hard on this and trying new things to soften the blow. I just wanted you to know you are not alone on your journey.
@lolakinks Forgive yourself and forget about the brownies. Progressing is moving forward and not looking back. Mishaps will happen. Most of the time the choices are good ones so the odds are WITH YOU. I just know you will succeed in achieving your goals!6 -

Day/Weight/Comment
9/05--218.4 Did some extra snacking yesterday evening. I think it was because I was feeling tired due to a restless dog during the night before. Now I know that being tired is a trigger to my snacking I will plan for next time. Still showing a downward trend. Yoga tonight.
9/06--218.2 I want to get back into doing C25K tonight. Between the excessive heat and bad air over the last couple of weeks I haven't done any running since July 1st and I really want to do a 5k this fall. So tonight I am going to take the dog out for a little running and walking.
9/07--218.4 Up and down and up again; however, I am weighing in less then my average weight last round. Yesterday evening I went out and did W3D1 of C25K even though I didn't want to, but then I remembered that I had posted here that I would do it. So guilt from internet strangers made me go out for my run...whatever works
9/08--218.2 Did some evening snacking that took me way over my calories...stress from work, but I'm now over that. Was looking over my diary and noticed that I am getting very little fiber and I can feel it. Today is Zumba, plan for some ways to slowly increase fiber in my diet, and make sure I get my water in.
9/09--218.2 Zumba was great yesterday and then I spent way too much time at IKEA. In-laws are coming over today, so we will be going out for lunch so I need to plan. Plan today is (1) go out for W3D2 of C25K this morning, (2) eat a lighter calorie breakfast, (3) drink only water at lunch, (4) take home lunch leftovers, and (5) assuming rain holds up, go for a walk later in the evening. Here I go!
9/10--218.6 I would be ecstatic if this is the only jump after going out for lunch yesterday. I completed most of the plan from yesterday (1) completed, (2) completed, (3) I did have a glass of lemonade at lunch, but drank water the rest of the day, (4) I had no leftovers because instead of ordering a larger meal I ordered a small meal and did not feel stuffed, and (5) did not complete I was exhausted. I also did not eat any of the Mexican cookies that my husband baked. Yesterday was a success! Back in a step competition with my sister-in-law. Zumba tonight.
9/11--218.2--Yesterday evening I really wanted to do some snacking, so instead I left the house and went out to run around and do some errands. By the time I got back home it was too late for me to eat anything, I hate feeling full before going to bed, so instead I had some tea.
9/12--217.1 I've been so used to seeing 218.2 and 218.4 on the scale it was weird to see this number. I'm not sure how long it will last since tonight I am going to a baseball game, not for very long since I really don't like baseball, but it's a coworker's retirement party. My plan is to eat lighter during the day and drink water all day.
9/13--216.9 Not sure if this will stick after eating at the ballpark yesterday. Even though I still stayed within my daily calorie allotment, the extra salt may show up tomorrow. Also, I ate later than usual so I feel a little heavy today. Regardless, it was great to stick to my plan from yesterday. Plan for today is to do W3D3 of C25K, assuming rain holds up.

9/05 - Wednesday - 183.0 - Set my goal weight a litte lower than my usual - but I've been hovering here for a while so I feel a whoosh coming my way! Well, this morning was actually a whoosh - this puts me at 29.6 lbs lost! And so close to my short term goal #2! And so close to overweight BMI from obese BMI! I still didnt find my scale last night!!!! It's been a kind of rough morning so far. Exhaustion both mentally and physically is catching up to me. Need to do some self care over the next few days.
9/06 - Thursday - 183.5 - Busy night last night. Worked on the in-law, cleaned drained and refilled hot tub, cooked dinner and slept over there because it was too hot. But I stayed up too late watching movies cause it was like being on vacation. Ooops. Another busy day today - work is stressing me out. Trying to stay mindful and centered despite it all.
9/07 - Friday - 182.5 - WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! Short term goal #2 HELLO!!! On my way to overwight BMI all the way from obese class 2!!! And it's Friday. I'm going to revel in today's positives and push the negative to the side!!!
9/08 - Saturday - 182.5 - I was in such a mood last night. Let myself get too hungry and it was all downhill fro there. Rallied for friends dinner and the night turned out okay. Moved last things today, final wlak thru at apartment tomorrow. I need a nap. But planning to go to the fair tonight and i might not log...nah I'll log it and move on! Excited to do something fun after all this hard work!
9/09 - Sunday - 183.0 - I logged fair food as best I could. I also didnt go totally nuts eating wise so that was a win. Definitely enjoyed myself though. Went to dog festival today and ate some vegan spring rolls and then a huge sandwich on the way home. So worth it. Cooked dinner at home, pizza grilled cheese and tomato soup. Almost ordered out - gosh it snowballs so fast when I eat comfort foods I just want more! Glad I found something comfort foodish with food I had in the house cause the calories werent bothering me by the end of the weekend the cash was!
9/10 - Monday - 184.0 - Really not so bad considering! Have not drank enough water today and have a salty meal planned for dinner - but it is what it is and I'm feeling good. I REALLY need to start drinking my protein shake at some point in the day again and get better with taking my meds and start taking fish oil again. Those little habits make a big difference!
9/11 - Tuesday - 184.5 - Not surprising - not letting it get me down! Drank protein shake for breakfast and took my fish oil! Doing my best to drink lots of water today. Feeling positive that the upward trend stops today and I'm back on track! Pre logging dinner to see where I'm at for the day.
9/12 - Wednesday - 183.0 - Yay! Yesterday was the suck. Everything I touched turned to crap. Work was brutal. Got home and the washing machine started acting up. Ate dinner, tried to relax, ended up eating an entire chocolate bar. Figured I'd call the appliance repair place today, they are closed. BUT that crappy day did make me very grateful for all that I have and the people I have to lean on. And it was a good reminder that no matter what happens today, tomorrow is a new day to kick butt!
9/13 - Thursday 183.5 - Now to have it stick around til tomorrow. Questionable. It's been another hellish day. I ate wendys yesterday after I finsished my lunch because I was still hungry. Still around maintenance for the day - but I've been really hungry the past few days so trying to keep it somewhat under control while still listening to my body. Have not drank enough water so still working on that. Meh, this round is the first one since I've started that I've felt my commitment wavering a bit. Well, maybe not even commitment just motivation. And my usual back up plans have not been established in my new routine. So I'm feeling glum about everything. This too shall pass.

@deepwoodslady, You're welcome.
@MadisonMolly2017, Congrats on your new low weight!
@AJB1014, {{{hugs}}} You've come too far to talk like this. The stress of your move, the physical exertion, first the joy and then the thought of I own a house now, on the job stress, etc., etc. etc. It's a lot. If you are hungry, eat well, up to your maintenance calories, limit bread carbs. You may only need to increase food intake for a few days. Limiting calories is a physical stressor also and will work against you at times like these. I'm going through my own stress right now. Just reading about someone else's stress, stresses me out or makes it worse. Some days I just give in to higher calories, as long as I'm eating well. I feel much better for doing it. Pretty soon things will settle down and so will you and I. Nuts, nut butters and plenty of vegetables help me to cope. Walking too, without distractions, just being in the moment.
