Desserts add up extremely fast. All that butter/oil and sugar, lol. Never believe nutrition information from recipes either, and whatever you think the calorie count is... double it.
Most cupcakes are like 400+ calories for something that you eat in a few bites. Keep that in mind.10 -

OP, just ask your mom to serve the cake between a couple slices of whole wheat bread, that'll solve everything. Enjoy your cake sammich!19

Over half the calories were from fat. Just learn from it and move on. BTW isn't 4K about the going rate for a cake that size?
I don't like cake but that's about what I would have thought.

How in the world is this small a** cake 4000 calories!!??! It wasnt even dense!! It was one of those airy cakes. How!?!?!?
you saw the cake and didn't think to check out the box to verify the 400 cals for a whole cake far too good to be true statement before you hoovered it up....?
riiiiiight.
Whos got time for that when there is cake and mom said its healthy lol
And she ate 3/4 of that rather large cake? Come on.
i think mom has a fantastically wicked sense of humour because there is nothing on that wholefoods website that suggests any of their cakes are 'healthy'. OPs mom just wants OP to be fat for EVER!!!!14 -

OMG One of those brownies would be my entire calorie budget for the WHOLE day (1450 without exercise)!
And OP, just take this as a lesson learned, no need to beat yourself up. Next time just double check the nutrition facts and be kinder to yourself.4 -
LOL!! some can be good but they won't be the same for sure.TavistockToad wrote: »more importantly though, check out the calorie count for ONE cheesecake brownie in this thing...

Healthy does not equate to low calorie. Something can be made with whole grain organic everything and still be high calorie.
Always read labels yourself.8 -

I need to see an ingredients list for this, is there even room for any flour in there or is it all just butter and cream cheese held together by sheer force of will.20 -

Held together by sheer force of will and fat. Lots of fat.

I think the better question is how one could believe an entire 6” cake could somehow be 400 calories. A cake made of broccoli maybe.25

I'm pretty sure your mom meant well in getting you the cake. She probably assumed that if it's from Whole Foods, it must be okay (halo effect, very common). But it is your responsibility to verify what your eating, before not after the fact.
Forgive her and yourself and move on. Lesson learned.27 -
