i lost 49 pounds in the last 4 weeks. yes, it was extreme, yes, i was under my Dr's care, yes, my BP crashed to 77/51 and i couldn't stand or walk. will you do this on a normal keto diet, no. i told you it was extreme. my blood work is now better than yours. i don't even have to see yours to know. my dr totally freaked out at my results. my total cholesterol is 100. she said with my lab results, i'll be healthy 5 years after i die. i'm down 119 total pounds, all Keto. why be normal, when you could go extreme...
  • I've been doing keto for a few weeks now. I'm not really trying to lose weight, only keep my blood sugar under control. I've still managed to lose 5 lbs so far. More importantly, my blood sugar has been within the normal range consistently. I bought a book called The 21-Day Ketogenic Diet Weight Loss Challenge and it has THE BEST RECIPES! This book has made me fall in love with keto. I don't plan to ever go back to carbs.

I have been working out after the first week when my body was adjusting. I started taking some electrolyte tablets and it really helped with the keto flu symptoms (I take Sport Salts).

If you want to get a lot of calcium, there are a lot of other ways to get it besides milk. You could check out these websites and find some foods/drinks that would work for you (cheese, sardines, collared greens, almond milk, etc.):

    I hope that helps!

Look at the carb contents . I try to keep mine around 50 grams daily.

    Best of success.

I have been on Keto for 2 months. Before that, I was on low carb for almost 3 months. Have lost a total of 20 pounds! Only 9 more to get to the weight I want to be! Pant size when I started, 14. Pant size now 6 - 4. Was a 4 - 2 six years ago. Because of health, I got up to the weight. Now because of my doctor I went on a low carb, Keto plan. It is working!

Hi all, I am just getting started with the Keto diet as well. Would anyone mind sharing their go-to foods? Also, what do you use in place of milk? I usually try to drink 1-2 glasses of grass fed whole milk a day to help with my bone/teeth strength and am worried about that. Do you just supplement with Calcium? Thanks for your help!

Unsweetned vanilla almond/cashew milk is BOMB!! I don't even buy the regular stuff anymore.

I use cocoanut milk in my smoothies. Go to foods, I egg and 1 pork link sausage, lunch Fry’s low carb yogurt and chia or flaxseed, dinner salad with a few almonds, sunflower seeds, avocado, olives, grape tomatoes, one T olive oil,, and 2 oz of protein (beef, chicken or fish). I use the MyFitnessPal and their macros. Try to keep my fat to about 65% fat, 10% carbs and the rest protein.

Meat and low carb veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, radish, cucumber, peppers, spinach, etc)
Download an app that will tell you how many carbs are in whatever so you'll know what you should and shouldn't have.
Aim for about 20 (give or take) NET carbs.
Read the label on everything. Do not assume that just b/c you think something is low carb, that it is.

I have been doing Keto for 7 weeks as of tomorrow. I have lost 30 pounds and it keeps me motivated to keep going. I haven’t been working out because I injured my knee and I’m giving it some time to heal.

That is great that you are giving your body some time to heal your knee. I have been doing Keto for 4 years now and have developed an interest in the value of Keto beyond weight loss. The articles below may or may not be of interest but are Keto related things that keeps me motivated to continue this Way Of Eating long term. The first link is from 2013 and you may want to look at the references at the end. Some of the other articles are more current and I found to written at different levels of science based on readership perhaps. Keto seems to be helpful in the healing of some injuries per some sources.

    Best of continued success.
