Throw them in the freezer and take them out one at a time. Maybe one per week. He was trying to be thoughtful, but obviously missed the mark (I was going to say target, but I'm not convinced that even landed on the same page as the target).

I'm not sure if they freeze, it's the filled ones not the ring ones, which seem to be about 400 cals.
He does mean well and it was quite sweet but what's wrong with flowers lol

yeah, the kreme filled ones are 340. I ate two yesterday for lunch. Won't have them again for a long time.

This thread is on the cusp of becoming a new food porn thread.

So where are you heading for your trip?

I'm sure they'd freeze fine, not sure how well they would thaw though. I'll change my opinion to "take to work."

My hubby has been known to do similar. I know he's not trying to sabotage, just a tad clueless and forgetful. I'd definitely take them to work and get them out of temptation's path.

Here's the easy "out" if you don't want to eat them. "Thank you so much honey, but my tummy's a bit off right now. Maybe I'll have one later, but you go ahead."

I had a friend who was very fit but loved sweets. She was known to jog in place while eating a cookie. LOL :cookie: Not my kind of strategy.

Enjoy your vacation even if those smaller clothes don't make it into the suitcase this time.

As long as no pics are posted we'll be fine.....😅

It's my 50th so flying from London to Miami, 2 nights there then onto Tulum in Mexico for 7 nights all inclusive 5* adult only, then a 1 night stop over in New York.
I booked it in January so it's been a long time coming and now it's almost here.

Sounds wonderful! Hope you have a fantastic time :)

    And happy 50th!

My husband quite often buys/offers to buy me food that doesn't fit my calories. He isn't being passive aggressive, he literally has no concept of calories or what's likely to fit my macros or anything else... there isn't always a sinister reason for someone buying their spouse food that they used to eat frequently.

I said it was a possibility. OTOH, I'd wager that your husband doesn't get upset if you choose not to eat the food he brings you that doesn't fit in your calories. That, I think, is what prompted me to wonder if this was about something other than hubby was just being nice.

My wife also brings food without always thinking about how it will 'fit' into my calories. But she doesn't usually care if I pass on it. She will only care if I ask her to pick something up at at the store and then I decide not to eat it because of the calories.

Actually, I think it's quite possible the boy isn't stupid but, rather, extremely passive aggressive. If he knows you're so focused on your weight and that doughnuts would present a significant challenge and he's going to pout if you don't eat your fair share, why is he doing this?

Of course, I'm sure there are couples where that is true. I'm assuming a mainly functional relationship here. My own husband is very thoughtful, but even he misses the mark sometimes. It doesn't mean he has ulterior motives.

@countcurt 's point is valid. OP's hubby wouldn't be the first spouse to try to sabotage their partener's weight loss.

Some boys are passive-aggressive. Lots of boys are stupid. The people most likely to be able to figure out figure out which one OP's hubby was being are OP, Hubby, and any marriage counselor they might happen to be employing.

In Hubby's putative defense, there's a quote from some old Roman senator that goes something like:
"Never mistake for malice that which is just as easily attributable to incompetence."
Some day, I'm going to cross-stitch that on a pillow. ;)

    Yep!

Every time I'm doing well and sticking to my diet my husband comes home with a 'present' for me of a box of chocolates or something like that. Annoys the crap out of me because I'm not one of those people that can eat ONE chocolate. Especially if it's Ferrero Rocher. I eat THE ENTIRE BOX.

Ooh congratulations on your weight loss, and happy 50th. What a great trip you have planned.

I don't know if you have done many long haul flights, or stayed at an AI in a hot climate. So I just wanted to warn you about water retention.

Long flights can have many people retain extra water, as can heat, as can food with a higher salt level than you are use to at home.

I know you have some clothes that are still a little snug. You may be best wearing them towards the beginning of your trip, and having a couple of more floaty numbers for the latter half.

Just as I was reaching my goal weight we flew from Canada to London then Rome for a 10day Med cruise.
I had lovely new dresses and shoes- had to abandon them by the half way mark and wear sandals and get a couple of loose fitting dresses in Greece (not really a hardship). I managed almost an 10lbs gain, sob.

My weight returned to just a couple of pounds of my pre-cruise weight within a week, so nothing to worry about, just thought I would give you the heads up that this could happen.

Drink enough water, and take some electrolytes with you in case you sweat a lot. If your feet swell wrap a cool, wet towel around them, and lie with your legs up a wall, or the backrest of a lounger for 15+ min.

Glad you ranted here instead of at hubby.

    Cheers, h.

Beautiful boy!!! I hope hubby really wasn't kicking him around the kitchen.
