Wow. I mean, wow. I'm sure that dermatologist and beauty editor are the best arbiters of the effectiveness, right?
They keep trying to sell the whole Magic Belt that burns fat and causes muscle contractions that tone your abs, but that's got to be the most expensive version!8 -
Sad part is, there are desperate and gullible people out there who will fall for it.
The diet/fitness industry really is scummy for the most part.11 -
Counterpoint: Planks are free.12

Think about this for just a second. 20,000 muscle contractions in your abs per second while you're trying to relax. That sounds horrible. Actually that sounds like being forced to exercise with no control over it.4

My sisters use to iron their long curly hair to make it straight.
They still have curly hair.4 -
I wonder if they give you a meal plan to go with that? Because that might work.
We all know how it works, you go and have your sessions and yes your muscles are sore so you feel that it has worked. Then you probably never do it again and forget that you spent all this money for nothing. Then you buy a home fat sculpting kit (or whatever) which you use for a week or two then put in the cupboard forever. Then you buy some supplements which don't actually blast your belly fat and on and on paying out for no results.
It takes a lot of us a long time and a lot of money before we find the truth. There is no magic way to a slim fit body.10 -

It sounds like the severe stomach bug I had earlier in the year. I only came out of that with DOMS and an aversion to the last food eaten (bacon ).5 -

The shakeweight is probably a better exercise than this.3

Sounds like it's being promoted through the same marketing as The infrared wrap which burns in excess of 1000 calories, so they claim, per hour.
It's the rage in Los Angeles. Their money, their time, their wastefulness. Their foolishness.3 -
Four sessions at $1000 a session is $4000. Still stupid as hell and zero chance of doing anything at all don't get me wrong, but not sure where 25k came from.3

It says it could take upwards of 6 months to see results, so 2 sessions a week for 6 months.2 -
That sounds really unpleasant. Some people just have too much money if this is what they're spending it on lol...0

The duration of time to see results says nothing about the length of the treatment.
From the article starting with the last sentence of the first column:
"You do four 30 minute sessions for over two weeks". So four sessions total over two weeks....$1000 a session, that is $4000 total. They are just saying that it might take a month to 6 months later to actually see the results....probably to save themselves questions about why their customers don't actually see any results following the actual course of the treatment.
If it somehow was 2 sessions a week for 6 months that would be $54k not $25k anyways1 -

Without a doubt. And also like $24,995 cheaper.3 -

Cheaper than that. Shakeweight available for $0.50 at local garage sales.2 -
I don't get how that would be helpful at all unless you're already really thin but have no ab muscles to show. If you have a layer of fat it doesn't matter how great your ab muscles are, you won't see them. Right?0

This technology originated in the 1940s, but never came to market due to the high number of adverse events - long term nerve damage. It re-emerged in the 1960s and Bruce Lee was marketing this at one point, but it never received regulatory approval.
I can't imagine the damage this does to one's nervous system.0 -
Urg. No thank you. Having my nerves misfire randomly once a month for a couple of days causing horrible cramps is enough for me.
Although... does that mean I've got some serious abs under the flab?0 -
I was going to train for a marathon by running for two hours 3 days a week for two months. Then I realized that running for 2 hours is just 10,000 steps which is just 10,000 leg contractions so it would be much easier to just apply some electrical current to my calves and thighs causing them to convulse for 30,000 contractions in a quick 30 minute session every week. Because that will of course be equivalent training for a marathon. After all strength and endurance training just boils down to muscle contractions and therefore training is exactly the same as having muscle spasms.
Yup, makes perfect sense...total genius.5 -

If it actually worked, there would be a lot of physique athletes and models lying around electrocuting themselves for hours a day instead of putting all that effort into diet and workouts.0 -
