What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

I suppose this counts, though it's less about appearance (and others' impression of my appearance).
One reason I'm losing weight is because I'm starting a family and need a bigger term life policy--which is really ****** expensive if you're overweight. I'm not made of money, but I have to make sure my wife/kid is OK if I croak.16 -

I would count this as less a petty reason than a sensible and pragmatic one, but well done either way.
ETA: In case this is interpreted wrong, I didn't mean to say 'Get out, you're in the wrong thread', I meant to say I support your reasoning and don't think you should underplay it by calling it petty.10 -

Your not ugly! I dont like the word duff. I don't think it really captures who we are and put a very untrue label on people.5 -
Appreciated. But to clarify: I should emphasize it's the money that's keeping me from doing this. Deep down I know I should probably pay whatever necessary, because life insurance is that important. If the unthinkable happens, my family will be less-well-off because I didn't want to pay a few extra bucks.I suppose this counts, though it's less about appearance (and others' impression of my appearance).

I get it, but think of it this way: the unthinkable is that much less likely to occur if your body is in good working order. That's certainly the way your insurance company sees it, right?5 -
Agreed.
I was going to try to muck everything up my inquiring what brands a particular reason for losing weight as 'petty', but that sounds a 99-cent, poorly-edited ebook on Amazon.
(But hey, if anyone's looking for an idea for a 99-cent, poorly-edited ebook to write for Amazon, you're welcome.)
EDIT: (SIDE-NOTE) This wouldn't be the first time someone's turned message board content into a terrible Amazon ebook.2 -

i wanna get back the body i used to have when people i met in the ahops would ask me ( i was in yoga tights & top) "do you do a lot of exercise to be able to look so fit ?"5

I just want to look hot, even though it's very narcisistic and not very like me. I want to feel and look hot, not to care about my body.
HA ! As if body confidence only came with weight loss ... I lost almost 8 kilos and still struggling to see the difference in the miror8 -

Body confidence doesn't only come with weight loss -- but it often helps.4 -
Crop tops, all the crop tops!8

to weigh less than my husband again, who is 5-6 inches taller than me. I managed to achieve it a couple of years ago for a short while and it was awesome. I'd like to do it again.8

Because when I was 12/13 my grandpa called me fat on our family vacation, said I had to stop eating how I was, or I’d be fatter. Also because I want to show up those girls who were all skinny mini women who everybody seemed to like and who didn’t like me. I’m tired of being the duff. (Dumb ugly fat friend)13

My petty reason is so that I can wear nicer clothes... Fat people clothes are not that cute to me and I want to make the man I was seeing jealous that he let me go... lol... is that good7

A lady in my Bible study was much bigger than me. She lost weight, and now I'm the biggest--or I was. It's not a competition, but I can lose more. I can go from being the biggest to one of the smallest. I'm seeing a lot of folks losing weight, and it's inspiration to lose more. I passed up one lady who lost 30. She's still the same, and I've lost 65. I may be old, but I don't want to be old and fat.9

Me too. I want to be able to have sex without grossing myself out.5 -
My husband has lost a significant amount of weight and he's doing so great and looking amazing. I want to be right there with him, looking amazing.8

I had to drive several hours to hold my mothers hand while my father had a heart transplant, can you guess what the first thing she said to me was? “Bulking up, are you?” Of all the things to say and of all the times! And I actually had lost weight!
I want to wear just leggings or shorts and a sports bra and feel good about it! No shirt. I had my husband take a picture of me deadlifting 170lbs because I was proud of it, but I ended up deleting it because I had a double chin thing going on and my stomach looked too round in my fleece (home gym, unheated garage.)
I want to look like Legertha. All my sisters are petite little women with tiny frames, olive skin and brown hair and I’m over here four inches taller, broad shouldered, massive boobs, blonde hair (34J, my bras are practically a car payment) and weighing 180lbs. I want to be sexy muscular and look like I could break my tiny sisters, not eat them.
Also I want to wear a bikini once in my life, like a total skanky one that’s 90% string.26 -
Teeny tiny clothes. Bones, all the bones! I find delicate bones really beautiful. I don't care what anyone else thinks.8

I am fed up of being the DUFF (mainly because the girls I go on nights out with are super thin and it just makes me feel like an elephant).8
