What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

I definitely think that pretty much all of these "petty" reasons are legit reasons. But here's a list for me:
1) I've been significantly overweight from little up. I'd love to go to a HS reunion and weigh LESS than I did back then.
2) Cute clothes, for sure. Also, cheaper clothes!
3) I'd love for that guy at the gym to notice me because I'm getting thinner, stronger, and prettier.
4) A girl I know from church has lost 100 lbs in about a year with Jenny Craig. She's put a lot of her story on social media and has become a big promoter of JC, which I find annoying, even if it's a decent program. And she's getting a ton of praise, which I'll admit I'm jealous about. Meanwhile, since mid-summer I've been slowly losing by calorie counting (at a rate I'm happy with), and I'm not sharing anything on social media because that's just not me. I'd like to just keep plugging away and prove that this is possible without the help of a diet program.21 -
Look in the mirror and see a double chin and don't like it.
My dh weighs less.
Want to get back in my old clothes.
Want to be described as smoking hot.
My sister lost weight and now she's thinner than me.
I don't like thinking am now old and fat and have become invisible.11 -

You look AMAZING!!!17 -
Mine is to make hubby jealous and eat his words (already working). We've been together almost 13 years but he's been a bit rude about my weight gain on some occasions since I put on weight 8 years ago and couldn't get a significant amount off and keep it off until this year.
To show some of my colleagues who have only known me obese who I 'really am'. To show the ones who knew me before that I hadn't given up on myself and that I've got my sexy back.
I also wanted to return from maternity leave back in May with confidence and it's been great getting compliments from those brave or candid enough to mention my weight loss and getting the wide eyed looks from those who aren't. I've still got a way to go and have found the comments motivational.
I was mainly inspired by my third baby who is a very lively and strong willed boy. I turned 40 four months after having him last June and I want to be strong and fit to be able to keep up with him and my 7 year old throughout their childhood and teenage years (plus I promised myself I'd be fit at 40).
Major petty reason is to be able to wear nice clothes and to turn heads again. This has been a long time coming and I've worn frumpy clothes for long enough! I'm looking forward to cute autumn/winter looks, not just being relieved that I can cover up in coats again
My goodness it's been so sweet achieving all these 'petty' reasons in the months since I posted this back in August!
I could have cried the day I wore my autumn/winter outfit I've been dreaming of (cute cropped leather jacket, skinny jeans and knee high boots) for years and my husband had been saying "forget it, it's not happening again" about for years. I actually wore it out for his birthday lunch in November and he was speechless, drooling and kept giving me kudos for actually getting into this outfit (including UK size 10 jeans). He was even making me walk ahead and taking pictures of my butt in public!! 🤯
Keep going everyone- petty or not it's soooo worth it!

I wanna look sexaaaiih!!
Also, hot guys are my motivation 😆😆
PS I just joined MFP. Feel free to add me!6 -
I want to be as gorgeous a bride at 59 as I was at 21 (although I didn't realise it at the time). I don't want to look younger, just firm, toned and about 3 stone (42lbs) lighter.10

I want to fit back into prepregnancy clothes. I'm average weight and breastfeeding so not sure if I ever will! Just 3kg to go4

A friend of mine says he stays fit to NOT SUCK AT LIFE. While that wasn’t my reason to initially commit to a better lifestyle, it certainly fits me now. Petty? probably. My reason? ABSOFRIGGINLOUTELY!!!

Great story, only a few months and living the dream!
This thread is the best, especially the success stories. Contrary to all the politically correct articles out there, I don't think there are invalid reasons for wanting to lose weight. Sometimes the pettiest desires yield the biggest results!
My reason: I'm pushing 30, have always been invisible, and want at least one year of looking slim and attractive-ish before I'm past my sell-by date.

I want to wear fitted tops without a muffin top hanging over my jeans.
My SIL is a lean Pilates instructor and I hate being the fat one.
I have 2yo twins and I want people to look at me and think I'm awesome at life- being a fit, toned, slim MUM OF TWINS,!5 -
Since I failed to lose weight for my own wedding, here's my new and VERY petty reason why this time it will work: my best friend is getting married. She's my ex-boyfriend's daughter. (Yes, big age difference, whatevs). He was really unpleasant about my weight and made me feel terribly insecure. By the time she gets married, I won't have seen him in about 5-6 years. We are both married to other people now (and I definitely found somebody much better than him), but MAN do I want to look hot when I see him.18

I thought I really didn’t care about that until the other day when I realized for the first time in a long time I weighed less than him and I am so psyched about it!8 -
I have 6 months before I go back on holiday to my usual destination and I want to see what reaction I get. I've been going since 2007 and I am already smaller than I have ever been there5

The sound of disgust and the look on his face when my friends betrayed my secret and told my 7th grade crush I liked him... devastating. His "Ewww gross!" echos through eternity.
I might have moved on and had plenty of amazing experiences to fill the time between then and now but my poor self esteem never recovered from the adolescent angst.

My son started losing weight and I will not weigh more than him!
Also my sister, brother and SIL have started trying to lose weight with diets that are costing $$$. They are going on and on about how wonderful it is. I just sit there with my mouth closed and a smug smile on my lips knowing I’m losing weight eating real food and not the packaged stuff they are “required” to purchase. Can’t wait to see how long they will keep it up!16 -

I often think... "whenever I lose this weight... it's all over for you hoes. "17

When talking about weight I want to stop hearing the line "it's okay for you to be heavier right now, you just had a baby". My baby is almost 2 years old now. If I still look heavy enough to have "just" had a baby, I've got a problem.12
