Me, too! Wearing my wedding band is a great NSV. Wearing smaller clothing is my second best NSV.19 -
The last time I lost some weight, all the way back in late 2008/early 2009, I bought a few new pieces of clothing, including a pullover hoodie that fit me just right (like a sweater rather than being baggy and loungy). Neither then nor now did I have a scale to weigh myself on, and all the way through this round of weight loss I've been wondering if I made it to my 2009 size yet, as all I could do is compare pictures of myself from then with staring at myself in the mirror now, and I haven't been able to get much of a sense of things.
I learned yesterday when I pulled on that hoodie that I've surpassed it, as it's now baggy and loungy, and should probably be shifted into the sleepwear section of my wardrobe. It's interesting because I'm only maybe 5 pounds lighter now than when I last put it on before summer, so it's illuminating to learn how few pounds constitute a noticeable difference when you get into the 'normal' range. Also, this puts me officially at my lowest weight/smallest size since I was at university in the mid-90s.
Bonus: this time I have boobs (not generous ones, but more boob-shaped and less tiny-torpedo-shaped than when I was 19–20 years old) and hips too. I've mentioned this here before, but it's kind of a weird extra reward for having gone through the process of losing after being obese as opposed to just staying slim all these years (I do, on the other hand, have a bit of loose skin that I hope will tighten up gradually, and if I continue losing, my boob-shaped boobs are at risk of becoming stocking-shaped instead; still, I'd like to savour this victory for the moment).
tl;dr: 1) An old hoodie told me I'm at what is effectively my slimmest-ever adult size. 2) I have boob-shaped boobs.21 -

I have lost the disciple to workout since the season changed. I started loosely logging going back to the gym last week, and I already feel the difference!
Also, December is usually difficult since I was last hospitalized in 2015. My anxiety would go through the roof, I wouldn't leave the house except for work and the gym, and even at work it was difficult to engage with others. Long story short, aside from crappy sleep, I've gone through most of this month with minimal anxiety and fear! Yay!!26 -
My sleeves are gaping at the armpit! I've always been self-conscious about my arms (I'm a top-heavy woman, great for the chest but not so much the arms) so having some progress there is really heartening to see.19

Also, December is usually difficult since I was last hospitalized in 2015. My anxiety would go through the roof, I wouldn't leave the house except for work and the gym, and even at work it was difficult to engage with others. Long story short, aside from crappy sleep, I've gone through most of this month with minimal anxiety and fear! Yay!!
@Hamsibian – Hey this is me too!!! Well I don't have a gym membership but what I mean is that I'm getting anxious and depressed and I'm not sleeping well. I have zero energy. And it's exacerbated by the fact that my roommate/best friend seems to be going through the same thing, but the way it manifests itself is that it feels like we're not close friends suddenly, which is causing more anxiety and depression. My question to you is: is this a Midwest winter thing? I grew up in the Midwest but left for over 20 years and just got back. I don't remember this before, but seeing someone else describe my own emotional state in such similar terms makes me feel a little less scared about it.
To contribute an NSV, I've done two weeks in a row of staying overall (though not every day) in a deficit. That hasn't happened in a while.15 -
I am starting to get some chest muscles! This is more awesome bc since I’ve lost all my other chest assets, in the right light the muscles throw enough shadow on my sternum to make it appear I have some cleavage17

One NSV that perhaps only cyclists will get - after a couple of years of trying I finally hit my power to weight ratio goal of 3 watts per kg.
Not an impressive number but I'm delighted still to be improving at 58 YO.

Arm muscles! I’m starting to see them! They started to appear last year, but then some major derailments made any kind of muscle hibernate under a nice layer of fat. But now they’re peeking out again!

Today I took all my old 'too big' clothes to the Charity Shop - 'British Heart Foundation' this time. I now only possess clothes that fit me. Hopefully they will still all fit comfortably after the Christmas Hols.24

@HDBKLM It is totally a Midwestern thing! We aren't getting enough sun, getting sick, and insanely busy during the holidays (both at work and home). I can speak from anecdotally that all this has made it so hard to want to do anything other than lounge around. That's why it's recommended to take some sort of vitamin D supplement during this time of year.

Thank you so much. With my apple shape and generally short torso I'm not nearly as slim looking as some might imagine at this BMI. Honestly I can pinch full handfuls from my waist still, but I'm wearing a size extra small yoga leggings so I guess if I dress judiciously I can look "really slim" I'll keep plugging away another few pounds and see what feels comfortable, sustainable, and non-gaunt within the next 5–10 pounds.6 -

Thanks! I've got some Vitamin D3 gummies, then a friend saw them and said, "No, you're supposed to get D3 + K2 to make a supercombo!" I have no freaking idea but presumably 'just D3' is better than nothing4 -
I have the Holiday Crud and went to the doctor today to see if they could give me anything. Two hours waiting and while they told me it was just a virus and couldn’t really do anything, I DID manage to punt the “obese” from my medical record.
My primary care physician was even surprised (I’m close to 90lbs down now) and asked me how I did it since I was so far from where I was 8 years ago when they put that on my medical record. Grit, sweat, tears, perseverance, and habits! It was awesome having a doctor comment on my weight as a positive. I’m still not quite to healthy BMI, but it was encouraging to hear the doctor tell me that I was almost there.
For the FIRST time, my weight wasn’t the ghost elephant in the room. And oddly, after leaving my appointment, I realized that my doctor hadn’t even really thought about my weight. Not in any way that mattered and certainly not as a barrier of concern that eclipsed my actual ailment that prompted the appointment.
It felt good.
(But, ngl, like a dork, I totally weighed myself in several outfits to make sure to get the lowest reading. XD)32
