Oh, yeah, that reminds me: I forgot beer-battered fries (potato) with a vat of good catsup; deep-fried fresh button mushrooms; really light/crispy but huge deep-fried onion rings; and deep fried pickle spears.
(I've gotta stop reading this thread! ).3 -
I'd go straight down to the local British shop and get a curry chicken pasty, eat it on the spot, then get a fruitcake to take home. oh, and don't forget a Bakewell tart.
Or - there's a restaurant that has been serving pumpkin bread pudding with a side of cinnamon ice cream.3 -
Homemade chicken noodle soup (noodles are homemade too) over mashed potatoes just like grandma used to make.5
-
Greggs cheese and onion pasty, tater-tots covered in chilli and melted cheese, fish and chips from my favourite chip shop in Yorkshire, home-made shepherds pie, and all the cheese.4
-
Ooo and this is a family favorite from Grandma too. Barley with mushrooms. Ugh, I am so hungry for it now...

Brownie base, panettone top... chocolate pine cone, white chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream...
The base was gooey like brownie batter, so tasty!4 -

Now I want chocolate pinecones, just for the cuteness factor. Dark chocolate, please.6

Company Holiday Dinner tomorrow nigh. The restaurant has a signature dessert - chocolate chess pie:
The planned entree is surf and turf - lobster tail and steak. I do not eat our fellow mammals, so I will have surf and surf. If you don't dip it in butter (an unpopular opinion - I don't care for butter on crab or lobster), lobster is only 30 calories an ounce. The pie is another story, though still probably under 400, depending on size.
And this is the right thread for the pie. I am going to eat a piece. They also have a good key lime pie which is another favorite of mine, but their chocolate chess pie is amazing.5 -

I hope that tasted as good as it looks. Because it looks freaking awesome.2 -
Well great - so far today the boards have got me wanting to eat surf & turf, brownies, muffins, cake, pie, mashed potatoes, chicken soup, french fries and cookies. Did I miss anything?
ETA: And pizza and chocolate6 -

Thursday is my department "team-building" lunch out (dept head just found out he had the budget for it, so we're gonna use it). Going to a good mexican restaurant, so I'm gonna be lucky to get out under 2,000 kcals. But it's gonna be totally worth the splurge.6 -

I'll start.
Chocolate pecan pie, warm, with scoop of ice cream and a little chocolate syrup for good measure:
I have never had a chocolate pecan pie, but I think that needs to change! Where would I find such gloriousness?
It's easy to find recipes. The simplest ones are pretty much standard pecan pie with chocolate chips stirred in. The better ones make some other adjustments to get ratios right (more nuts to offset the chocolate).
If you want to find it eating out, Cracker Barrel and Lucky 32 are the restaurants near me that usually have it.
I know where I'm going for dinner tonight!!! Thanks!
Also, my husband made the most incredible pecan pie several years ago, I wonder if he'd be willing to make another with with chocolate in it for me?
So I went to Cracker Barrel specifically for this pie last night! Unfortunately, after I got done eating my dinner, I was too full to enjoy it so I got my slice to go! I plan on eating tonight after I get home from the gym!
I will definitely report back!7 -

So I see my clever title was too good at fooling people; someone started a thread on food worth the calories and it almost immediately got as many or more posts than this one.6

Look at that stupid autocorrect.... *keeps scrolling

Too lazy to find a picture, but 100%, old-fashioned style maple glazed donuts. I would rather eat nothing all day than turn one away. It's a real problem.
