ROUND 63 (Round 10 for me)
5’5” 66 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135-140 lb.
Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. Per my KetoMojo meter, I’m in ketosis most of the time. Some of my NSVs: my wedding band fits, I wear smaller clothing, and my progress has encouraged my husband to try harder to end his cigarette habit.
Rounds 54 – 62 resulted in a cumulative loss of 27.2 lb.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/24 149.8 Finally below 150! I failed to attain my goal of less than 150 lb. in the last round, but here it is! Now I have to keep it going down. Yesterday was too busy to take a walk before dark, and walking our roads after dark is too dangerous—wild hogs, drunk drivers, etc. This afternoon should be perfect for a walk. First, I have to pick up a pecan pie (and discipline myself to have one bite each day when my husband has a slice), and I have to trade my nephew’s gift out—I realized I dropped off the bag with new wigs for my mother-in-law instead of his toy. Oops! He’d probably have fun with the wigs, but they’ll look better on her.
12/25 149.6 I plan to eat popcorn today, so I expect a little gain tomorrow. (I hope it’s little.) Thor, my GSD, and I had a nice 4 mile walk with cloudy, but comfortable weather. He’s a great walking companion, and he loves going with me. We saw my husband’s kids Saturday and won’t see mine until this coming Sunday. It seems a little strange not rushing around to make last minute preparations for company, but it’s nice, too. We decided to take it easy today—see a movie, eat out, celebrate each other, and, especially, celebrate the birth or our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Merry Christmas to all!
12/26 148.6 We went to a movie yesterday and enjoyed ourselves. I ate popcorn, too—not a lot, but enough to make me feel like I splurged. I’m happy to see it didn’t show on the scale, at least, not yet. The only open restaurant was a Chinese buffet, but I was able to select keto-friendly foods. I read my fortune, advising me to pay attention to minor details, but I didn’t eat the fortune cookie. 😊 I was disappointed yesterday evening that my husband wasn’t hungry for pecan pie, so I didn’t get my bite. Maybe today…. Nothing but rain/thunderstorms in today’s forecast, so it doesn’t look Thor and I will walk. I think I’ll follow the example of @taxgirl1 and organize my closets. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
12/27 148.8 Tiny gain, but I had a pretty big loss yesterday, so I won’t complain. Playing cards with my friends today—probably canasta. Unlike my husband, I really enjoy card games and domino games. My singing group took a month off for Thanksgiving/Christmas, so we have to practice early this evening for a concert Sunday evening. There will be no walk with Thor today. My husband skipped the pecan pie again last night, which meant I skipped my bite, but I ate one of his dark chocolate chip cookies. He’s been eating the cookies I baked and taking some to work. At Christmas, he took leftover pecan pie to a coworker, with my blessing. I must be patient. He’s probably trying to do me a favor. I already put half of the new pecan pie in the freezer to take to my boys on Sunday.

Start Weight - 191
Goal Weight - 140 - 150
12/24 – 191.8 - totally expected this gain and expect more to come in the next few days so I'm not bummed about it. Husband and I are partied out and will be having a quiet dinner at home tomorrow. I'm making grocery list for the rest of the week and will be heading to the store shortly. Bring on the veggies and lean proteins! Light snow falling and more expected tomorrow. Looks like we'll have a White Christmas.
12/25 – 191.2 – Just a fluke…it will go up soon enough. Yesterday I shopped, came home and roasted parsnips, carrots and sweet potatoes for a breakfast hash for the short work week. I was so busy during the day I really didn’t eat much then overate at dinner time which was a little later than usual. My lunches are already made. Lots of veggies and some rotisserie chicken breast I picked up. No White Christmas. They keep saying snow but it’s mostly just drizzle. Merry Christmas to all!
12/26 – 191.2 - Official weigh-in today...maybe this will hold and I won't see the big gain I was expecting. I'm still down .8 overall since last weigh-in so I'll take it. Finally got our snow. Enough to bring out the plows and make the neighborhood kids happy. They can build snowmen and play with any new snow toys they might have gotten for Christmas. Hope everyone had an enjoyable day yesterday. Healthy eating and water drinking today is the plan.
12/27 – 190.6 - Say WHAT?! Just goes to show...the body is a strange thing. I'm still a little skeptical but putting me so close to the 180's sure is exciting! Ate well yesterday and had lots of water. Still a little over in my calories but I'm dialing things in. Very icy roads this morning. White knuckled it all the way to work even though I'm less than two miles away and have a 4-Wheel drive. Going back to read everyone's progress. Hope you all make it a healthy day.

I'm in. My 4th round but starting over. In the last week, I have completely undone all the work I did in the last three rounds. Im going to look on the bright side - I can do this, I've done it before and I can do it again. I have tracked my weight every day for the past several years. On today's date one year ago, I was 22 lbs lighter. That is my goal for this next year. I love this challenge and reading all of the posts help support and motivate me. Looking forward to this round going into 2019. Good luck everyone. May we all be 22+ lbs lighter this time next year.
12/24: 177.0
12/25: 178.4 Still got too many leftovers in the house. Better start to this day. Family stuff is done so no excuses. Merry Christmas one and all.
12/26: 176.0 This is a great loss but I'm sure it's just water weight gained from all the ham eaten. It sure gives me a boost tho to see the lower weight.
12/27: 176.0 Still trying to stay out of that Christmas chocolate. No time today so that will help. Eating out tonight. I will try to be mindful of my choices.11 -

My name is Jen. I’ve been sitting at the low 200s for a while now trying everything to get my weight to budge. A great MFP friend suggested this group and so far it’s helping! The weight is still moving at a snails pace but at least it’s moving!

12/24 207.0. Now that I see my numbers up top I realize I only gained a pound during a very busy time when I was sick and work was very stressful. I’m up again today but I think that is mainly due to two very salty dinners in a row. Gotta drink lots of water today!!

12/27 - 208.8. I’m back and ready to bring this number down. I couldn’t bring myself to weigh in yesterday. This number isn’t horrible but I can’t wait until it comes down again. I feel heavy and lethargic which needs to change.12 -

24th Round for me: Female 65, height 5’
I feel like I’m at the beginning of a new year. Usually we have company or go away but this year decided to do our visiting in spring and fall and stay put for winter - avoiding all the stress of driving in the snow in the mountains. I’m enjoying the peacefulness of it but my mind is jumping ahead to 2019.Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, loss -.2Goal this round: 159ish. I was down here in Oct. and having so much trouble getting back there. Right now even ½ lb. per round would seem great.

I’m going to apply to go on a short course in April. That is 13-14 weeks away (about 9 rounds). So my more immediate goal is to lose 1 lb/round. The course is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time – I don’t have to lose weight for it but it would be sweet if I did.
Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/24 – 160.6 – Bought some borscht yesterday for a quick lunch, seemed way saltier than usual. Also made up some shrimp dip with light cream cheese (we used to always do it at Christmas but even with the light stuff is pretty high calorie) So not a great day yesterday although no LNS. Calories probably at maintenance.
12/25 – 161.2
12/26 – 161. 6 – Found a spiced beef roast deep in the freezer and decided to cook it for Christmas since dh is not a fan of turkey and we’ve had ham several times lately. Put potatoes and veg. in with it for an easy meal and it was amazing. Made angel food cake with lots of whipped cream – only got the small cream so it will soon be gone and not tempting me. Can’t remember when there has been just the two of us for Christmas but it was nice. Buckets of snow today (we live in the snowbelt) so feel for our neighbors’ kids who headed out early this am. At least our roads are just wet so likely only the passes will be nasty.
12/27 – 160.6 – Happy to be back here but let’s not stay! Busy day today, gym tomorrow.

I’ve been in maintenance for several months until the holidays, content at around 146. I am now OVER the point at which I didn’t want to be again (150), so I’ll be getting back on track to lose back down to at least around 146 or so. May try to go lower in the new year, but we will see. For the immediate future, I just want to get and stay back under 150.
Goal for round 63= 149.x
Day/Weight/Comment
12/24= 150.8 Still a couple more celebrations to survive, then back on track.
12/25= 153 Christmas meals and treats. Going to drink lots of water today.
12/26= 153.4 There you have it. My Christmas high. I’m owning it, realizing there’s lots of work to do in the coming days to not only lose the weight but make it past the sugar/carb cravings that will have increased due to these indulgent last however many days. Good luck in “recovery” friends.
12/27= 151.4 It felt really good yesterday to eat healthy again! Got in a bike ride and a walk on the beach, too. Bought an adorable pair of exercise leggings that I will be a walking in today! :-) (Why does something so silly make me feel good?) LOL

Hello, that "recovery" made me laugh, but it is true over here, too. Yes, it does feel good to eat better again! I wished it was beach weather here. That sounds great. Leggings aren't silly, they are a small item that make you feel great!! I have to make my list of rewards for my good behavior goals met over here, myself.4 -
@jaccimc63 OMGosh. Size 8? Congratulations to you. I cannot EVEN imagine myself in a size 8. You are doing fantastic!
@allmannerofthings I too wait until after the 12 days of Christmas to take down the decorations. Over the years I've found that so many people have never ever heard of this, or don't even realize when the 12 days are!
@quiltingjaine You are such an inspiration, Keto and otherwise! The way you can maintain, and even lose during all times of the year is AMAZING. I promise, I am trying very hard to make Keto my lifestyle, not just my current weight loss diet. I love the plan and do so well in my "regular life" at home, in my safe place. And while working too. Socially is where I fail miserably. I am a project in the works, but I will get there and stay there. At this point, after so many festivities (more yet to come), I am missing my favorite Keto dishes. I feel bloated, no energy, uncontrollable cravings and have difficulty sleeping when I eat all this junk. Thanks for inspiring me yet again. I have one more major event coming up that will be the biggest food fest of them all. Until that day, I am going to get back to the good stuff, the Keto stuff I know and love. And on the "big day", I am going to make the healthiest choices I can and not go on a bingeing frenzy. Again, you have inspired me. Today is a new day (again) for me.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

I’m in for this round and plan to really get with the plan! I’ll set my goal in the morning when I weigh. See y’all!
Round SW -191.8
End round GW -187.0
This is a big goal to achieve in the next 10 days, but I am ready to get serious again. No more holiday plans except a reined in Christmas lunch with my father in law. Think Thanksgiving feast but reduced by about 2/3rds.
12/24 -191.8
12/25 - 190.6 (down 1.2 pounds so far)
12/26 - 191.0 up just a bit but I am okay with that. Lots of cooking and sampling along the way for Christmas but still did pretty good. Most of the treats are out of the house and I have to go back to work today so I am expecting good results for tomorrow’s weigh in.
12/27 - 190.6 on my way again. Gotta stay strong.

I’m back again for another round. I’m still just working on maintenance for this round. Lots of family in town and we have Christmas and New Years. My goal would be to end this round at 151 or 150. Round 64 is when I will be back on track and hopefully be in the 140 decade finally! Good luck everyone.

12/24 - 153.0 up a little from last round, but started doing all the cooking for our Christmas Eve dinner so completely not a surprise.
12/25 - 155.0 up some more. Drank a lot of beer and ate a lot of food yesterday. Had an amazing time with all the family though. I’m glad I get to go back to work tomorrow and get back on schedule. Love the holidays, but glad I am done with Christmas this year.
12/26 - 156.3 Up some more. Wow 4 pounds in 3 days. Hopefully it is a lot of water weight and sodium and just crap that I normally don’t eat that will get out soon. I think I gained 6 pounds over Thanksgiving so I guess 4 isn’t terrible. Sucks being over 155 again though. Back at work today and lots of water and clean food is what I have planned. Oh well, it happens once a year, so I will suck it up and take it for what it is.
12/27 - 153.7 going back down. Did well yesterday. Drank lots of water and stayed on track for the most part. Did have some friends stop by unexpectedly and had a couple of drinks with them. I think this would have been a little lower if not for that. Hopefully I will see that 151 or 152 tomorrow. I am just counting the days until these holidays are over, lol.

I’ve been on MFP since August 2011 and in maintenance within 4 or 5 pounds for about 5 years. This is the first holiday season I’m having a horrible time getting back on track. The late night snacking is my problem plus I think the scale is playing with my mind. It’s only a number, it doesn’t define how healthy I really am but I think I need to step away from it for a couple weeks.
I’ll still be here just not weigh in every day.
@jecky74 @jenn990205 you both are doing an fantastic job!10
