One of my favorite easy to prep meals is roasted butternut squash topped with cottage cheese with some sriracha on top. Pure comfort food.2 -

I did a garbage pale scrambler, volume eaters edition for dinner tonight. KITTEN thing weighed 2 lbs for about 550 cals.... uses acorn squash instead of potato... home made hot sauce on top.....4 -
Sara Lee 45 calorie bread, mustard, deli turkey4

If you like to bake: I started substituting a quality nonfat plain yogurt to replace butter in many baked dishes (biscuits, breads, etc) It's good and totally reduces calories.5

Just found that a can of artichokes in water is 50 cals for the can. I bought four.3

Butternut squash. I sort of took as gospel that starchy carbs were all high calorie and not worth it. Then I actually checked the nutrition stats. I think roasted butternut squash noodles are my new favorite side!7

All winter squash and root veg (other than tubers) are low cal. I was surprised by turnips and rutabaga and beets too.4

I'm going to be pedantic and note that the bacon that is low calorie is cooked bacon that has had the fat discarded. I have a number of recipes that call for raw bacon, and this is not low calorie at all as the fat is incorporated into the recipe.4

Fruit with full fat plain Greek yogurt and honey. Tastes like heaven to me and surprisingly low in calories while still giving you a bit of protein.
Also I'm a weirdo but I love a banana drizzled with a little Hershey's simply 5 syrup and topped with some reddiwhip. Really low calorie but to me is just as good as a bowl of ice cream.
Those are my "desserts" more often than not.2 -

I think probably these are good desserts, they would be a bit higher for me like for a breakfast. I have found the greek yogurt to be high - I wish that they had smaller containers ready made. Although I've bought a few more smaller cups for portion control.0 -
Twinkies are only 130 calorie per cake. I always thought they would be a lot more.5

Potatoes!
This was me as well. When I first started dieting, potatoes were one of the foods that were considered a "no" food for dieting. I thought they were exceptionally calorific so I avoided them at first. When I decided to have some, I was shocked. They're so filling for the calories if you don't load them with all kinds of fatty stuff. I actually prefer them boiled with salt, peppercorns, bay leaf, and onion, so they weren't really the calorie bomb I imagined them to be.5 -
