Good morning and Happy New Year!! <3

I wrote a long post and replied to each other you and then in my stupidity, I managed to delete the whole thing! :s:#

So, I'm just going to write to you all in one post because from what I've read we are all ready to get started on our 2019 goals. Like Trishastime says we need to think about this as a lifestyle. We all know that diets don't work and that we must focus on how we can make healthy eating and fitness a part of our lifestyle that we can sustain for our lives. I don't know about ya'll but I'm sick and tired of always having to recommit myself to weight loss. I really want this year to be different!!

I plan to work through that 100-day journal that theslightedgeforever posted. The first day says, "Starting today, eliminate the belief that things always go a certain way or that you never stay with your goals. Whenever those doubts creep back in, immediately give yourself this new message: I used to be that way, but now I’m different! Then come up with a new statement that describes what you can do to prevent this." How good is that? I am going to work on my new statement today!

My FB group is starting the 100-day challenge tomorrow so that is when I plan to begin tracking on the chart. I would love it if you would join me here and we can have our own little challenge going. You don't need to use the chart. Trooworld has an awesome calendar and stickers to use and maybe you all have your own system. But let's do something together and see where we can get in 100 days. Whose with me!!

I remade the chart for you to use if you want. :)

@cbabie I hope your youngest DD's mouth heals quickly. Yes, I know exactly what caused it!

@TrishasTime I'm sorry your stomach wasn't playing nice. Lifestyle change is a good couple of words to have on your brain. Happy New Year!

@gemwolf110 Happy New Year! We sometimes go out, but didn't go out this year.

@theslightedgeforever NO, it was no fun. Luckily, it was a mild case. hahaha! I do like the Black Eyed Peas though. Your ticker didn't show up. You have to copy the html from the left box, not the right box. That's a good idea to take a screenshot.

@TeresaW1020 What I do is I type my response in Notepad and then copy and paste it into the box, that way I don't lose my response. I am with you, I will do the 100 day challenge! Since I have my calendar, I'll just use that but I really do like your chart it's so nice!!!

Good morning all, Happy New Year! It's too freaking cold to take off my clothes and hop on the scale, but when I weighed myself the other day, I was 7 lbs lighter than one year ago which I will consider a win. If I WERE to get on the scale this morning, I would probably see an uptick, as I ate appetizers last night. But today is a new day and a new chance to get it right or get it better. Let's do this!

I have used mfp for a long time, but yesterday also joined ww. I like this ap better lol.

Over the last couple years I have made a lot of food changes- less eating out, less junk. But still havent lost weight due to still overdoing junk food sometimes.

One of my biggest challenges is drinking then eating too much. So last night had 3 or 4 pints of beer then 3 pieces of pizza and a little meat pie. I think partly I was rebelling bc I joined ww.

So feeling discouraged but tring to get back on track.

    Happy New Year!

    Good morning everyone

I am heading into work shortly. As part of my lifestyle change, I walk each morning then make time to get on here. My job will be there if I get there at 7am or 7.30am. ( I am allowed to start anywhere between 7 - 9am), but like to get there early due to traffic.

@gemwolf110 - Thanks for invite, I accepted but I am not really on MFP except for this group. I think your goal for 2019 is truly achievable.

@theslightedgeforever - Thanks for the receipe - I have pinned it to my favourite toolbar and will check it out tonight when I get home. Thankfully, my steps had increased in the last 3 years. ( I checked that before I switched over to apple watch).

@cbabie - I hope you DD feels better soon. Freedom is a great thing. What does freedom mean to you health wise.

@trooworld - Yes we have 364 days of new chances to get it right and with the right mindset that we all seem to have, I think we can make it.

@TeresaW2010 - Just wondering - have you been shopping yet? (LOL). Are you doing this 100 day thing on your FB group along with WW, or have you dropped WW?

@its_cleo - Hello, nice to meet you. Okay make your very next meal as healthy as you can. You can not go back, so let it go and just go forward. I am also on WW. The WW app takes getting used to and yes - this section of MFP is easier. Are you just online or are you going to a studio?

Well I need to get moving

    Take care

It just so happens that I'm going shopping tomorrow!! :p Hopefully I will be getting my new church phone and we need to do some grocery shopping. I have not dropped WW and in fact I have every intention of embracing the plan fully. I am going to act like a brand new member. My meeting was closed on Christmas day and today, so I'm really looking forward to getting back next Tuesday.

My Facebook group is called WWover50 and it's a wonderful group. If you or any of you ladies go on FB I really recommend it. It's not just for WW members! It is run by an awesome woman who gives these lives FB talks every Monday. Very motivating and full of truth!! The group is really large, which is why I like this group so much. I like to go where people know my name. :)

@cbabie So how was the first day of hubby’s retirement. It’s awful when the Internet doesn’t work.

@its_cleo welcome to the group. I’ve had those last hurrahs myself. Tomorrow I’m starting my plan so today I must eat it and enjoy it. Now I know that thinking sets me up for failure because I can be good a little while but then my rebel comes out to play. I do better when I feed the beast regularly but I control it versus she controls me. I’m learning to reduce the amount of junk food I eat and work it into my plan. You’ll find your balance.

@Trishastime. I like how you worded that “lifestyle change”. I’ve decided my word for 2019 will be active. Today was one of my rest days but I got in 15 min walking plus met my step goal.

@TeresaW1020 We like having you too in our group. Small can be good sometimes. I finished the first assignment on 100 Days.
Here’s one of my answers I used to be inconsistent with exercise but now I’m becoming more active by exercising right after my Morning Routine.

@TeresaW1020 Thanks for redoing the chart. I met 2 out of 3 goals. The darn snooze button got me.

@gemwolf110 How was your first day towards your goals? I gained 6 lbs too this month but I’m figuring some of it is sodium bloat. My feet are swollen. So hopefully that’s an easy 2 lbs right there. We can do this if we just concentrate on each day.

@trooworld Hooray on your 7 lbs. somewhere you have made changes and you got the results. I thought the ticker would show up automatically like it does on Sparkpeople. It should in my opinion 🤨. I found it on the laptop but can’t figure out how to post it from my phone.

Ok and onward we go to Day 2

@its_cleo Welcome! Every day is a new day, and a chance to start over, so don't beat yourself up. Start new today. Happy New Year!

@TrishasTime that's good you are making time to walk.

    @TeresaW1020 Day 2! I earned a sticker yesterday. ;)

@theslightedgeforever I agree, it should. I'm going to put it in every time as an accountability habit.

@prisoner2food consistency is a good word.

Hello all. I don't have much time to write, I'm going in early to work this morning so I can get off for a dental appointment (just a cleaning). I just jumped on the scale for accountability. I was up 3 lbs. Not happy at all. I'm up 8 lbs from December 29th. I need to drink some water and flush some of this sodium out of my system (I haven't been drinking fluids). I also need to stay within my calorie limits. I've not been that out of bounds, but a little.

New to this group. I did ww last year and lost 35 pounds, I have since gained that back and then some. I am just trying to track and being kind, no more obsessive point system. I do miss the WW community though, and I did learn a lot of good things from the program.

    Morning everyone

Lifestyle change forgot itself yesterday, when I did 10 hours and then went out and ate late and went straight to bed after eating. However back in the mode today. I am not going into work until late as I have change my meeting to the one close to work and that starts at 6pm. So late start and late finish :). I did not get my walk in the morning as I am suffering from last night, however I will be mindful of what I do and eat today (after all I have a studio meeting tonight :)

@sydneykklein - Welcome to our group, there are still 2 of us that do WW (me included) and the others are following MFP. Regardless of what you do, you will get support here.

@prisoner2food - Welcome back , like your word consistent. I assume all the family have left and now you can concentrate on you

@theslightedgeforever - Thankyou for the receipe. Loving your word as well. I too am trying to be more active. That being said, even though I missed this morning walk - I will walk at lunchtime.

@trooworld - Bummer about the scales. I need to up my water as well. I seem to forget to drink anything when I am busy at work.

@cbabie - Hello - I hope you get the internet up again soon.

@TeresaW2010 - Wow - I looked at your group 81K member, yes everyone will certainly know your name :)

    Take care everyone

@TrishasTime yeah good advice, I’m just trying to move forward. Today is day 3 and really the first day since Day 1 I blew, and yesterday I did not feel well enough to eat anything lol. I’m just online, but I do like support/chatting with others so that’s why I checked in here.

Yeah I totally relate to this, esp the part about being good for alittle while. This is why I haven’t lost weight so far.

So today feels like Day 2 and I managed, but it was tough. And my brain is not helping, I keep thinking I can do it better on my own and ww is no good, but I haven’t been able to lose it on my own. I’m trying to stick with it and have an open mind.

So my goal is to be honest and track and do my best to make the points total. Tomorrow I go to the gym, I have a personal trainer and the workouts can be intense so I need to make sure I have eaten good food before. I'm worried it will point me over the total.

Anyway all the best everyone and thanks for the welcome. The holidays are rough, so it’s just about getting back into a routine day by day.

    Hi.

I’m back on the horse as well.lm tracking with a different program (Noom).

There is a lot of illness in our house right now. Just little colds and stuff. But it messed up my sleep. I still need to get 800 steps, so I will go out and walk in a bit.

@sydneykklein Hello and welcome! Being kind to yourself and tracking are so important.

@TrishasTime You sound like you know how to balance things out. You've got this!

@its_cleo Good luck at the gym, I hope you enjoy it.

@Numer1ca Hello and welcome! Congrats on getting those pesky remaining 800 steps in! :D

@prisoner2food Great job getting back on track.

Hello all. I had a good food day yesterday thanks in part to a rough dental visit: I had a painful experience and my mouth ended up being numb from novocaine until about 7pm, so I was only able to eat smashed black-eyed peas. I was well under my calorie limit. I guess I could have eaten a lot of other things, so well-done, trooworld!

Tough crazy busy shift last night. Felt totally out of control and was craving junk food and chocolate. I refused to go looking for any and kept to my prepared snacks and finished yesterday under calories and did not sabotage myself the rest of the night. Sure does help me to read and think about the postings here so keep writing!!

    Hello everyone!

@TrishasTime, Yes my WWover50 group is really large but it doesn't feel that way at all. I'm also on a group called No Finish Line Nation that is run by Mudhustler. He is epic on Connect. Do you know him? He is famous for the food he creates. He even has his own website, https://themudhustler.com/ I really like his birdballs. :)

@trooworld, I'm glad to hear that you are earning stickers on your calendar. You will totally get that weight off that you put on over the holidays. Bummer about the dentist appointment causing you pain! :/

@prisoner2food, good job getting back on track and avoiding the cravings for junk food! You just have to stay mindful. Do you pre-track before your day starts? I try very hard to do that and it really helps me stay on track.

@kristineal78, welcome to the group! We are very supportive around here so stick around. :)

@Numer1ca, Hi!! Good for you for geting in your steps. Do you use a tracker? I love my Fitbit. :)

@its_cleo welcome to the group! It is hard to get back on track after the holidays but you can do it. Start by pre-tracking and planning your day. Make sure that you set yourself up to suceed and you will.

Well, I finally went back to work today after being off since Dec. 21st. We had a long staff meeting and lots of changes are happening. We are losing our youth pastor to a bigger and much better paying church in two weeks. I'm crushed to see him go. He is one of the most remarkable young men I have ever met and I have no doubt that God is going to use him to do great things. But we will sure miss him. Pastor wants to throw him a reception on his last day so of course that is mine to plan. OK! :#o:)

I have been on plan for a few days and I'm doing great! I've lost most the weight I put on over Christmas, but still need to lose a pound to feel like I'm back on the losing track. I'm happy to be back on the treadmill and praying that no more colds hit me again. Georgia is really high for the flu right now but I had my flu shot so I'm crossing fingers and toes!! B)

    Morning everyone

Had a bad day yesterday... but that is in the past and today is a new opportunity.

@TeresaW2010 - Does losing the pastor mean you have to do the kindy section again? Is he the one that assists with the web pages? No I have not heard of Mudhustler - will check into that thanks.

@trooworld - Sorry to hear about the dentist drama. Hope you are feeling better today

@Numer1ca - Great job with the steps

@kristineal78 - Welcome to the group, I think we all do better with support.

@prisoner2food - Well done to keeping to your snacks

@gemwolf110 _ How are you going today?

Got to run - late for work

@prisoner2food good for you, reaisting the temptation. I really wanted a brownie or something but I resisted. Also went to the gym and still kept points reasonable. I couldn't believe it.

Unfortunately the ww app keeps malfunctioning and erasing my data. Really disappointed.

@TeresaW1020 yeah I am trying to preplan but the ww app crashing is not helping. Trying to be patient lol. Good luck with planning the reception! I'm an introvert and those things always make me nervous. Sounds like it could be fun though!

@gemwolf110 How long do you think you will postpone the wedding? You could still use MFP and use those dollars you would have given to WW towards your wedding fund so it will happen sooner. No matter which plan you use, it's still us that make the choice what to put in our mouths and how much we move.

@Numer1ca Welcome to the group. Do you have a goal that you are working towards for January?

@TrishasTime How did you do yesterday with your January goals?

@its_cleo It's so frustrating when apps don't work the way they are supposed to. Probably so many people joining WW at this time of the year that it crashed their system. Just wait til mid Feb. That's when the gyms start to clear out and everyone slows down. Good for you for resisting the brownie.

@prisoner2food I was laughing to myself about your word for the year. I thought does she mean shite or consistent. :) I had my word as consistent for a couple of years and it didn't seem to help me. I think I would have been better with shite to remind me that's what I'm trying to overcome. I've switched my word to active. Being within your calories is a good start as you learn to make healthier choices. Looks like you had a good day kicking those cravings to the curb.

@trooworld Yaaay for your sticker. Those 3 lbs will come off and you will be back on track earning stickers everyday. Good for you for having a good day despite the dental visit.

@sydneykklein Welcome to the group. Do you have any goals for January? That's amazing you were able to lose the 35 lbs once so you can do it again. Just find a plan that really works for you. I'm basically following the Slightedge plan with guidelines from the Shred plan for structure. I am not restrictive. I eat junk food in moderation. Because I'm really trying to make this a lifestyle and quit yo-yoing the same 10 lbs even though I have 66 more to lose.

@TrishasTime So what will you do differently next time you work 10 hours? That's your trigger. Your routine is going out and your reward was ??? So finish this sentence.....I used to work 10 hours and go out and eat late then come home and go straight to bed but now I work 10 hours and............................. Did you walk at lunchtime?

@its_cleo How was your day? Remember that we are learning new skills. How to eat healthier and moving more. With time we'll get better if we keep striving. I made a good choice at bookclub tonight by just ordering a cup of soup at the Chinese restaurant we were at. I was still over 100 calories for the day because I forgot to track a snack I had earlier in the day and that put me over. But it was still a good day.

@Numer1ca Good for you for getting in all your steps.

@kristineal78 Welcome to the group. Do you have any goals for January?

@TeresaW1020 How are you doing on the 100 days of weight loss assignments? I had unexpected relatives come in for the past two days and so I am behind on that and I'll catch up. I follow Mudhustler on Instagram. Repost your chart for the newbies.

@cbabie Do I need to send out the hounds?

OK, I think I'm caught up. Welcome to all the newbies if I missed any. If you have just joined us, this is what I'm working on for the next 100 days

@kristineal78 Hi and welcome! You are in the right place for support. You are right, doing it alone is not fun.

@prisoner2food great job, staying out of the junk.

@TeresaW1020 Thanks! Yes, that appointment was no fun! I'm sorry you are losing your youth pastor, that's a bummer. Congrats for being back on track, hang in there and earn those stickers or whatever way you mark on your chart!!! :D Stay healthy!

@TrishasTime Sorry about the bad day. May you have a better one today. I am mostly feeling better today...that is, until I brush my teeth and then my gums are still very sore.

@its_cleo Great job on resisting the brownie and going to the gym! I'm sorry the app was malfunctioning. Have you contacted tech support?

    @theslightedgeforever Thanks!

Hi all. I had a stressful day yesterday but I did not stress eat. In fact, I've had a stressful week since Weds and I haven't stress eaten. That's real progress for me. Usually, I'd be face-first in a bowl of macaroni and cheese by now.

I think I will try and find that book ‘100 days of weight loss’. Looks like some great ideas in there to get at the root cause of weight problems.
Upsetting family news this morning but I came on here before binge eating and was able to get my head on straight.
Decided I don’t want to do the few errands I need to do today. Just gonna stay home and clean and read

@theslightedgeforever sounds like you had a good day, even if slightly over. I find when I do that the real success is not using it as an excuse to binge, so good for you for keeping it there.

@prisoner2food take care of yourself, it sounds like you have a good plan for the day. Sorry about the bad news.

I started out very grumpy but the day is getting better. Getting caught up on chores and listening to tunes! There is a big staircase where I live going down to a park so later I will do two circuits on the stairs (100 stairs each) and then there is a big hill on the other side of the park I will do twice.

The ww app is working better. I was logging in on different devices and I don't think it could cope.
