Good news -- knee if feeling much better! But it was still a bit too uncomfortable to run on, so I sat out my 5K today. I still got in 60 minutes of strength for a great burn this morning, though. #noexcuses #dowhatyoucan

Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 160.0 Got in 58 minutes of strength training this morning. Tried to run after work, but my knee is not fully cooperating yet. I'm very sad about that as running is my therapy and helps me keep weight off. Sigh. It just started bothering me on Monday -- I think I banged it too hard coming down to the floor during a workout. I'm hoping it gets better by Saturday as I'm supposed to run my first 5K of 2019.
01/04 158.2 YEEESSS!!! Was so happy to see the scale moving in the downward direction! Now just NOT to screw this up over the weekend ...
01/05 157.2 WOOOOT!!! I'm over the moon the scale is still going down. Now just not to screw it up this weekend and gain anything back ...

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130. Want to get back to 127-128.
Crept back to JGM10D quietly and somewhat inconsistently in Round 60 but now I am back (for reals!)
1/3 - 132.8 - 8000 steps yesterday and under my calorie goal, currently set to -.5/week
1/4 - 131.8 - 7K steps, 12 minute vigorous row, and under calorie goal yesterday. Also 12 hours of work... went back late evening to after midnight, life of a sysadmin, then keyed up and couldn't sleep much. Today is a day to beware and not blow it!
1/5 - 131.0 - 8K steps and just under calorie goal yesterday. Got a great night's sleep but still feeling a little transparent. Love a rainy day. Good for taking care of myself.

1/5 - 208.4. Can’t wait for the scale to start moving down again. Woke up today and did a power walk workout on my treadmill. Hopefully I can keep things in check this weekend.16 -
Back again for another round! I gotta quit slacking though. I had a really great first round and a couple disappointing rounds since then. I'd LOVE to lose anything over 2lbs. Even 2.1 would be exciting.

ROUND 64 (Round 11 for me)
5’5” 66 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135-140 lb.
Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. I don’t use my KetoMojo meter every day, but I think I’ve only been out of ketosis for a couple of days since the second week when the meter arrived. Some of my NSVs: feeling less self-conscious, wedding band fits, smaller clothing, and my happy husband, whether he’s inspired to quit his cigarette habit or not. Rounds 54 – 63 resulted in a cumulative loss of 29.6 lb. in 100 days! Another 12.4 lb. down, and I’ll switch to maintenance. This time, I’ll continue to check in—I’ve learned my lesson! Besides, I like hanging out with you sweet folks.
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 147.2 Going back to work yesterday felt strange. I hadn’t been to work since mid-April (end of tax season). I didn’t have time to eat breakfast (egg, cheese, nuts, avocado), so I took it with me, but forgot to eat it. I took my turkey cabbage stew for lunch, which I ate, and I had a good dinner when I came home. On the way home, I picked up a pair of well-fitting black slacks at the Salvation Army Store. It’s a great place for “transition” clothing, and every Wednesday all the clothing is ½ price. My husband loves the inexpensive designer shirts I pick up for him. 😊
01/04 146.6 After playing cards with my friends for a few hours yesterday, I noticed sunshine, so Thor and I took a 4-mile walk. I haven’t formed an opinion on my new orthotics yet. I had a little toe pain, but not enough to slow us down. The torn meniscus in my knee seems to be doing okay. It may just be the steroid injection working, but I hope it’s actually healing.
01/05 146.0 Thor and I had a 5 mile walk yesterday in the beautiful sunshine. I may show a gain tomorrow after my date day with DH today. We watched a movie, and I ate popcorn (my breakfast), one of the tortillas on my fish tacos for lunch, and half of the sweet coleslaw. They don’t have to make it that sweet. (sigh) I’ve decided to go all out and eat a bite, maybe two, of the leftover pecan pie. It’s starting to get old, but I assume all the sugar is preserving it. My ketone level was over 3 last night, so perhaps I’ll survive today’s carbs without getting out of ketosis? We’ll see. I enjoyed the movie and time with my husband and the popcorn. I really like popcorn.

01/03 - 148 - I know I've done some damage this past week, but I also drank about 16 oz. of water before I hopped on the scale this morning because of a coughing fit. I can't wait until this illness is over.
01/04 - 147 - I'm half afraid to say it but I think I'm feeling a little better. Just in time for my tax season to start. I stayed under weight loss calories yesterday and drank plenty of water. I'm going to try to be extra careful this weekend so I don't bump back up, but weekends are hard.
01/05 - 146.5 - I was surprised to see a drop since we had turkey tacos last night and they are full of sodium, but I'll take it. I've eaten around maintenance today so I hope this sticks.

@tiabirdie56 Your sprouted almond recommendation sounded interesting, and I looked it. Do you have a source for raw, unpasteurized, sproutable almonds that aren't too expensive. I found almonds online, but I don't want them bad enough to pay over a dollar per ounce. I bought California almonds today, before I read that the FDA requires all U.S. grown almonds to be pasteurized, which prevents sprouting. I still plan to soak the California almonds I purchased then dehydrate them for snacking. I hope that still provides enhanced health benefits, and they may be easier for my husband to eat that way.1

@FarmerCarla, I don't think raw almonds are available in the U.S. What is marketed and purchased as raw is pasteurized. That did not deter me from soaking my almonds though. I enjoy them better soaked and I have had some sprout to my surprise.

01/03 - 170.7 lbs - I’m 62 and live in southwest Missouri, USA. Wife of a country boy. Raised in the city, now a country girl. Mom of two adult girls. Grandmother of two. Very happy to be part of this group.
01/04 - 169.9 - My 40th wedding anniversary is August 11! That’s 31 weeks away. I would love to get down to the weight I was on my wedding day. I think it was around 125. That would be a great present to my husband and myself. If I lose a pound a week I can be 138.9. Even that would be awesome.
01/05 - 169.2 - I over indulged today. It’ll probably show on the scale tomorrow. But then again, I was holding onto some water weight and I think that is gone today. Ok, I have no idea what to expect in the morning! I also didn’t work out today. I had to work extra and run errands. I have to work on making my myself a priority.

Starting today with a workout to try and vent some of the stress.
My heart and prayers are with you. I have been through so much of this with my own DS who is on the spectrum (he is 22 now) and I know how difficult it is for them, and in turn for you as it truly hurts your heart. My son hated change and his communication was difficult so things like this could be a nightmare. Hang in there. You are not alone and neither is your son. It will take awhile, but the more they experience, the better it gets. Someday when I have more time I will share the story of the beauty shop with you in regards to my son. I'll email you sometime. My prayer tonight for your DS is that this change will be life altering in the end, in a good way. A relationship that changes a million & one things for him. I’m joining this late, but thought it would be beneficial to start now. I participated in a few of these in the past, and it seems to help keep me on track. I previously lost 120+lbs but have gained back around 25lbs in the past 1.5 years. I’m trying to get back on track now and lose some additional weight. Today was a pretty good start.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 240.5lb - expected to lose some water weight from the kind of food I’ve been eating but also expect to lose some as TOM is due in next few days so I normally a lb or two with that. Getting back on track with healthy eating and putting all the festivities behind me
01/04 - 240.1lb - I’ll take this
01/05 - 238.25 - TOM started yesterday so water weight coming off and that combined with good deficits. Still feeling quite disappointed with a gain over Christmas however atleast its coming off quickly and not as bad as it first appeared. If this weight sticks I will set a new goal for this round.
01/06 - 239lb - slight fluctuation. Met with my family last night and they suggested doing a weekly weigh in again, this was how I actually became motivated to lose weight back in September and it worked well for a few weeks but then people dropped off and eventually it was just me doing it. I definitely find the accountability helps me but then find it really hard when others are on and off to keep myself on and not just join them if that makes sense. We will see how it goes 😅
