Hi - is this Challenge re-starting for Jan. 2019? I need to lose 20 - 25 pounds! Now that I'm in my 50's I'm finding this harder than I anticipated.

Bless you @tiabirdie56 just what I needed to hear as I woke up this morning. Yesterday was my worst day food-wise in my 400 days on MFP.

But I know why, now, and I was able to stop beating myself up. I truly cannot thank you enough. ♥️

@MadisonMolly2017, Thank you and {{{BigHugs}}} to you. No we're not giving up! We will battle until we get the results we want! We WILL NOT play the negative psychological game of weightloss.

Ahh, if I could only wake up to 173 before the end of the week! I'm doing my best to make it happen. Best weight loss is with fish and it is definitely on my menu at least 3 times a week until I get to the 160's!

@tiabirdie56 Those look like great weigh-ins to me! Do you ever post weekly average weights? They can be inspiring!!

I’m in the same boat, though. We WILL get there! Do rennet that thanksgiving, Xmas, & New Year’s were in there!! You’ve lost 12-16 lbs in the past 25 weeks. And I bet you’re gonna have another big drop soon!!

@MadisonMolly2017, Thank you. 💓 You're such a sweetie. I don't average weights, but at the end of each JGM10D, I look back over my weigh ins. I figure my average weight just by eyeballing what my weight settles back to after carb carnage. Lol. Once in a while, I actually do the calculations and its generally what I thought. The last 10 day round my actual calculated average weight was 175.5, but I think it was probably 175 even. I had a lot of fluid filled days last round!

Yes! We will get there. I do want to get firmly in the 160's and really slow my weightloss down. Back in July 2018, I ate fruit when I wanted it, but the reason behind that was to slow my weight loss down. So my carb foraging days are not really because I want them (except for those chips and pretzels I was eating😆) its to slow the loss. I feel that I can afford it. I want my body to catch up. 78lbs is a tremendous loss in one year! Sounds great, but too much. I like slow, but I needed to get rid of the excess weight gained from my ankle injury. I did and so grateful and happy about that! I am at the point now that I was at the end of 2014, when I was 15lbs from my target weight.
    Today I'm back to 173.2.

@tiabirdie56 Yes, I totally understand! I slowed weight loss from 4lbs per week to lower when I hit my original GW of 169. I was reading about muscle loss...so stepped up exercise & are more.

We are very much in the same page

@MadisonMolly2017, Exactly right about muscle loss. I feel bony and need to regain and retrain my muscles. I have never experienced this in my life. I think my muscle loss is part of the reason why my old injuries have flared up. I want to go out and walk 6 miles, go to the gym and get a HIIT workout on the elliptical, lift weights like I've done since I was in my 20's, but I can't do that right now. I'm too anxious for it and can seriously injure myself, my knee holds me back now. I need to calm down! Lol.

Sorry to hear about your knee. Are you in PT? Is it improving? I wonder if swimming or water aerobics would work for you?

@MadisonMolly2017, Aww, thanks. I don't think I could get out of the pool after the workout! I used to swim, take water aerobics classes and deep water jogging. That really tires your hamstrings and quads. Great workouts, but I'm not ready for them yet. Not in PT. I started having a problem with my knee 7 years ago after a debilitating bout of sciatica that I didn't have enough time to recover from properly. Not a disc problem, a tight piriformis muscle problem! Piriformis syndrome, in my case, brought on by sitting too much, brought about by taking care of my grand nephew. I have never been a "sitter" but there was lots of sitting going on for me over 9 years and 3 out of 4 grandchildren under my daily care. Then a fall in early 2017 resulting in a high ankle sprain. Didn't have time to recover properly from that either, with another little one to care for. My ankle took 8 months to heal! I also wrenched my knee. In all those years though I never had pain from it, but now I do. Why? Because my muscles aren't strong like they used to be and I pushed too hard getting back into exercise as if I had never stopped. So I learned my lesson, paying the price and now taking my time to slowly retrain my muscles. I'll get there.💓
