I am happy to find a open group to help me through the year. Thank you for starting this group.
I am 41, married, no children. I work full time (desk job). I will be traveling for work several times this year. I am very nervous about what I am going to eat. I have been preparing all my meals for the past two months. No eating out.
I will definitely need the motivation if I see spikes during those weeks I am away.

Hello everyone,
Glad to see all of your progress. Congratulations. Nice to see new members. Anyone in this group is welcome to add me as a friend. I lost a bit more than a pound this week. My nutrional goal is going to remain with the water (over 8 cups). I want to change to making healthy meals at home but not sure this is the week for alot of success with that one although I will work on it. I am going to add an exercise goal which is to continue with good exercise despite a busier week. As to how I did last week I would say that I eventually met my goal and it helped. Last week I started weight training. I am looking forward to reading your blog Gwen.

Goal #1 - 8 glasses of water / day, goal met.
Goal #2 - Gym 2 times remainder of the week. I didn't make it to the gym, but I walked and did a TON of yard work - including hauling brush and logs from a downed tree.
Goals for this week will be the same... 8 glasses of water/day, gym (activity) 3 times/week

No weight down. But I am staying in the calorie allotment.
Goal # 1 3 walks this week (baby steps!) and 8 glasses of water- I'm not quite making it now. I only weigh myself on Fridays but will put in my Monday weight for this.

Hello there! Is it still okay if I join your group... and your challenge? I'm over 40, needing to lose over 40!!!
My name is Christine, I turned 49 earlier this month and I live in Wisconsin with my husband and 12-year-old daughter (from my first marriage). By my calculations, it is 18 weeks until Christmas........ my goal is to lose 25 pounds by then. This morning, I weighed 190.2 pounds, so that would put me at 165. That's a little more than 1/2 of what I need to lose to get my life back.
I started working a full-time job in April, and sitting at a desk for 40 hours a week, plus an hour (or more) of driving each day has had a horrible effect on me! My lower back has suffered greatly, and is preventing me from taking walks "around the block" (1.25 miles). Much of my home time is spent alone, with hubby working in a different city during the week, and daughter with her father every-other week, so motivation is definitely my greatest challenge. Fatigue is also providing me with a daily challenge. Today, I planned for my eating all day - no lunchtime visit to a restaurant!!! - but I'm feeling very hungry despite all the fruits & veggies I've been munching on all day.
Drinking water is my one strong point!! I drink LOTS of it! My goal for this week is to plan for 3 workday lunches and pack food from home (the other 2 days are lunch meetings so there's not much control there).
I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you and meeting - or exceeding - our Christmas challenges! Thank you!0 -
Welcome Christine, and yes you can absolutely join. Must be tough eating alone lots, I find it hard too to cook well for just myself. Sorry about your back, maybe you can try aquasize or something low stress on your back for exercise.

Ok so these are going to be my goals for this upcoming week!
1. Drink at least 10 cups of water a day
2. Not eating after 7:00 pm
3. Eat at least 2 cups of vegetables per day.0 -
good goals! I totally spaced weighing today....and tomorrow I am going to be in the car 10 hours, heading out of state for a job interview. I will be good though. I will count my calories and I will drink water or iced tea in the car. Is Monday weigh day or am I losing my mind?0

Hi everyone,
I'm 50 years old and have lost 54 lbs since November 2010. I would like to lose an additional 20 lbs by Christmas. Depending on which scale in the house I weigh myself on, I weigh either 151 or 161 right now. I prefer to weigh myself on the one that shows me
weighing less:-)
My nutritional goal for this week is to drink at least six glasses of water a day.
Here's to all of us meeting our goals by Christmas!!
