Oh and my tshirts are baggier!21

I was at a restaurant the other day with my dad and the first booth we headed to was weirdly small with tight looking spaces on both sides, so I moved on to the next booth. My dad is a pretty big guy (not fat, but he's over seventy and 6'4" with scoliosis, so he's not fitting into a tiny space comfortably).
This was an NSV for me because I remember many years of my life when I would approach every booth looking to see which side had more space so I could sit there, and sometimes feeling the table squish up next to my fat rolls during the entire meal, especially at Taco Bell it was almost always an issue for me and slightly embarrassing. It has been almost six years since I joined MFP and over five years now, since I even really considered the size of a booth, and it felt so good to realize that!34 -
I skipped dessert today... it was hard to resist being strawberry cheese cake and icecream with LOTS of strawberries.. but I brave it and said no.
I am craving comfort food atm and that was in that category. So I'm Pr-et-ee pleased with oneself21 -
Actually stuck to ‘one beer’ at a colleague’s going away drinks when I said I would.
Also my wife is feeling a bit sick and wanted Chinese food. Stuck with prawn(shrimp) and vegetable stir fry.
There was a time I would have smashed a couple of six packs and a huge meal.
Willpower is like a muscle!28 -

Like self control, it's a different sort of strength training when we use it

After a planned surgery which I knew would put me out of action for 2 months, then an unplanned car accident which caused more drama including a pretty scary bout of PTSD, panic attacks and a recurrence of depression - I'm back. My body's better, my head's better and I'm back doing what I love. For a minute there I thought I wouldn't get back to me.

I started MFP for about the 3rd time on 1st January, after successfully loosing 35 pound a few years ago, but the piling it all back on and a bit more with a pregnancy. Anyway, I got myself a frozen pizza back in the first week of January. It was nothing fancy but it had all the spicy toppings and sounded perfect. I bought it home and put in in the freezer and told myself I’ll devour the full thing when I loose my first stone (14 pounds for all you non UK) anyway today I hit that 1stone loss and you know what, I don’t want it, I’m having salmon salad for my evening meal and will close the day on target.35

Have lost just over .5 inches from my waist in the last month! Scale just keeps going up and down (partly I think because I'm starting to reincorporate weights again, but maybe just food choice related lol)
Also have cut out alcohol for a while to see if that helps and so far has saved me quite a few calories!17 -

Alcohol also lowers my inhibitions, and sometimes I will overeat because of that. I have cut down because of that, and I try to plan ahead when I know I will be drinking.

While my wife was shopping I decided to try on some jeans.
I took a size 40 and just for fun a size 38. The size 38 waist fit. I was shocked.
My old jeans are all 44.
I bought the 38s.31 -
I put on a new casual knit top a size down and I noticed that the shoulderseams are where they are supposed to be, not several inches down my arm because I needed a bigger shirt to go over my stomach in order to be comfortable!

After a really rubbish day with my kids screaming and vomiting over me, I kept to my three slices of pizza for tea and calories for the day. This has involved turning down cookies, cake, pasties and pop through the day at a family event and my willpower is pretty low right now, but I will appreciate it next weigh in.25

This is kind of a NSV but mostly not.
The last week I’ve been hovering around the same number and same measurements. It’s been getting me down and frustrated.
But instead of drastically cutting calories and water like I normally would just to see a fake low number on the scales, I stuck to my calories and meal plan and even let myself have a couple of treats.
Number finally dropped this morning (and that’s after a semi-treat meal last night)
Hell it’ll probably go back up to where it was tomorrow but at least it came healthily.23 -
TMI but I can see my c-section scar without lifting my stomach.30

Finished day 2 of a pull-up specific program this morning. Finally training specifically to meet my goal!15

So movie popcorn is my number one weakness. I went to the movies and still got popcorn, BUT about four handfuls in, eating slowly, I actually noticed that the oiliness tasted kind of gross and didn’t feel good either in my stomach.
I was able to put the popcorn down and stop eating.
I’ve been working so hard with eating mindfully, so this feels like a win.41 -
@ACDodd Congrats yourself! It's amazing what we can do with our bodies once we give ourselves a chance. I turn 50 this summer and my goal is to actually run a 5K. I walk them three or four days a week but to be able to run that far would be mind blowing to me. I'll see you at the end of the race13

My stomach is no longer stretching out my favorite jacket.20

Transitioning to a Plant Based diet two months ago. My blood pressure has dropped 20 points, my cholesterol is now in the normal range, triglycerides are lower, and I feel much better overall. Another plus is that I have dropped 10 pounds (which was not my original reason for changing my way of eating, but was a very nice bonus). I also got a comfort bike for my birthday, which means I can add a daily bike ride to my routine. My new goal is to walk or bike anytime I am making a trip of three miles or less. Fortunately, I live in an area with bike lanes and trails which makes this safer.

I have 10 lbs to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight (Little one is 6 months old) and I finally fit back into my favorite jeans without muffin top! They're a little tight, but still wonderful Perfect timing, because my one final pair of "in-between" jeans are getting too big.21

Also, you seemed to have been thinking about your dad's comfort first, instead of your own. That's quite a nice thing, I think!

If I get there first I'll wait for you so I can give you a high 5.
I turn 66 in April so you'll probably get there first.9 -

Wanted to add to that. I picked up a T-shirt at WM yesterday I've lost nearly 20 and I've been fitting into 1X's lately, feeling pretty good about that HOWEVER, this shirt was a 2X and when I got home it was too tight?? Clothing sizes - SO not consistent. Sort of bummed me after all my hard work.13 -

Aw, thank you. I am a caregiver for my mom who is much worse physical condition so I think that's why I tend to always look out for my dad (they're no longer married but I am close to both of them)!10
