Before I was pregnant I knew all about stretch marks, but NO ONE warned me about what would happen to the skin around my hips.
Since having my little girl, if I go over a certain weight my hips get all flabby and sort of droop down . It's not a good look.
Well, I'm not really sure how much weight ive lost as im mostly just taking pictures to track progress but today I noticed that i no longer have weird saggy hip skin! (Yeah I know, it's gross..)
They're still not 100% what I want them to look like (I'm guessing 15-20lbs and I'll be good) but at least I don't look deformed anymore. Win.23 -
A gym employee told me that I had made the most progress the last couple months out of everyone in the gym 😊 It was well timed because 2 minutes earlier I had weighed in and felt really discouraged by the scale not budging that week.30

It was struggle street for me this morning. My smart watch hadn't charged all the way (I must have bumped it off it's charger) so I put it back on, I noticed it was close to charged anyway so decided to wait for it to charger before going on my walk, stepped outside of the bedroom and could hear the wind almost howling outside. Good decision to wait for my watch to charge (didn't want the 5000+ steps to not be counted!) Once my watch charged off I went (I used that extra time for a "power nap" though it wasn't all that refreshing to be honest), I realised I felt kind of stiff in one knee so told myself I would just walk the route today. After 5 minutes my body warmed up and I felt like I could face some jogging, so done w4d2 of c25k again. It was *VERY* slow. Less than 7km/h most of the time, but told myself as long as I kept putting one foot in front of the other that's all that mattered. So not a huge victory, but a victory in that I had made a decision with what my body was telling me and didn't feel guilty over it, but then when I came good I reassesed my earlier decision and went ahead with my planned walk & (turtle paced) jog. 😁23

I needed new work pants but not because mine were getting too big even though they were, they were just worn out. I was trying to wait until I got under 200 to buy new ones BUT we were browsing around some thrift stores yesterday and I decided to try some on. The ones in my size (18) were too big!! So I went to 16 and still too big! Fit into 14's perfectly and did a little happy dance in the dressing room! I thought that maybe it was a fluke so I tried on some jeans in size 14 and they also fit perfectly. AND a size LARGE shirt Left with 3 pairs of work pants, 2 new pairs of jeans, and a shirt. Pretty damn happy about it! I still have a long way to go but I'm starting to see results and I'm super pumped.
Also, I got my husband to go to the gym with me yesterday! He normally hates going but was totally up for it when I mentioned him going with. If I can get him "on board" with this lifestyle it would make this a whole lot easier!33 -
I had a big dinner last night and had a food baby afterwards. It was strange because it was really noticeable. And pleasant, because I knew it would go away.14

i overcame my anxiety and went to the track. GAD has kept me from going there for no good reason. but i finally got my shaky self in the car, drove 10 min, and ran safely inside away from sneaky ice patches and stupid drivers.

The fact that all my hard work is finally producing results that are noticeable to others. I've had 4 different coworkers comment on my appearance in the past week. "Have you been losing weight?" "You're looking really great lately."23

Coca Cola is my kryptonite. A coworker had thoughtfully (she didn’t know I was trying to kick this habit) bought and brought me a 20oz Coke. I turned it down and gave it back to her. (Progress!!). Normally I would’ve taken it and sipped on it all day long. Or drank it and gone for another later in the day.16

Great job! When you're first starting to run, no pace is too slow! Running is a gait, not a speed. Most people starting out have to learn how to slow down to add distance. Speed will come naturally later.12 -
As some of you understand, maintenance is often harder than losing.
I've been in maintenance now for around two years so NSV's are few and far between. But this week I have three.
Firstly, I have managed to squeeze in 2 weekly swim sessions of 40 laps (1km) for the past three weeks. That's in addition to my daily 6-8km walk/jog, and I'm proud of myself for getting through the swim suit embarrassment alone.
Secondly, my parents donated me an old exercise bike. Although it looks like an ancient instrument of torture I couldn't be more pleased to add it into my program.
And finally, at a party on Saturday night I walked into a conversation about foxes. I was concerned because the party was on a property with livestock and thought foxes were stalking the animals. Turned out they were discussing the fox in the blue t-shirt... me 😆31 -
Is it an NSV if you just realized you’re running your dishwasher every 36 hours? That didn’t used ta happen.18

I went wedding dress shopping this weekend. I’ve lost a bit of weight, but had read all over the internet that wedding dresses run small. Even David’s Bridal’s website has a little section saying the sizing is different and not to worry about the number, blah blah. So I went in to it expecting to be a 20/22. Told myself I wouldn’t freak out if I was even a 24.
Nope. 18 fit me perfectly!
Now the problem is, I put of dress shopping because of my weight loss. I finally went because my wedding is in 7 months. Now I’m a little worried if I continue to lose weight that my dress will be way too big and I’ll pay out the wazoo for alterations. But I want to continue to lose weight. This is a good problem to have, right?36 -
@amdev23_23 Can you work out roughly how many inches you've lost the last 6 months and work it out forward a bit)? Also find out (if you don't already know, I have no idea) if adjusting bigger or smaller is easier? I'm sure you'll look beautiful! Congratulations on the wedding!3

Good job on the coke! But mostly I wanted to say that your profile pic makes me laugh6 -
My size six skinny jeans are loose! Had to pull out a belt this morning!22

41.54 mile cycle ride.
Only got lost once. But it was a new area to me so, y'know.
Saw lots of cool things and many signs of spring (hurray!).
Not too many idiot car users for once.
2000 calories burned. Well, according to my temperamental Garmin that is - not totally convinced about the numbers although there were some majorly nasty hills, one of which I almost walked up but decided for safety's sake to stay on the bike as it was narrow and winding and walking up with the bike would have made the space even more narrow.
And for next week's adventure . . . I am planning a 50-mile bike ride.
I WILL make to a hundred miles!22 -

Thanks, I hadn't thought of it like that 😁😁😁3 -

Unfortunately I never measured myself so I have no idea how many inches I’ve lost thus far. I am really wishing I did, because I could workout like “I lose approximately an inch every 20lbs” or whatever. And it’s a lot easier to take a dress in rather than out. So I bought my current size. I’m just scared of what alterations may cost!

I just paid $16.50 to have a pair of new jeans hemmed up. The jeans cost $17.99.
The down side of losing weight, new pants, but I'll live with that.0 -
Today is day 50 of logging! That has gone really quick! Here are some of my NSV:
- I went from 6.7km/h sprints to 7.2km/hr sprints in C25K. I am on Week 2 - but I am keeping myself there due to ITB issues in my right leg and 90sec run/2min walk feels right at this time.
- Up to 3.5km in 30 mins in C25K
- a *kitten*load stronger - I can see definition!
- Love my PT sessions
- Loving and rediscovering nature through hiking
- I feel lighter, clothes fit better
- I am kinder to myself. And I feel so much happier15 -
My husband and I bumped into a friend we hadn't seen in a couple of years. He started talking to my husband and not to me, although he kept giving me glances. It felt very strange. Then I realized he didn't recognize me! Sure enough once I said something out loud and he heard my voice his facial expression changed and he greeted me normally.27

Agreed! I went through this the last time I lost a lot of weight. This time around I’ve been finding good deals on dress pants on Amazon. For years when I was overweight I avoided dress pants because it’s easier to “pretend” you wear a smaller size when you buy dresses with empire waists and skirts with elastic waists. Also I hated having to spend money on larger sized pants. So silly! I’m an elementary school teacher so it feels good to wear pants to work again!
Just to be clear though I’m of course not suggesting that you should avoid pants if you are overweight! That was just my own crazy insecurity!0 -

Yeah, it’s a good problem to have... I was actually talking about getting a wedding dress altered and the quotes I’ve gotten so far scare me. So I want to be excited with this problem, but I’m not. Haha2 -
We got our group pictures that were taken by a hired photographer back. First time in a while that I thought I looked super cute in a picture that I didn't take myself. I never really thought I looked ugly before, but it was more of a "you look fine, but you need to lose some weight" thought.17

You all are so inspiring! I keep losing and regaining the same 5ish pounds and Im frustrated but my NSV is coming back and reading all the posts and feeling myself ready to recommit, thank you!16
-
I guess my biggest NSV is getting back on the bandwagon after 6 months of slacking. Losing some of the same weight over, but I'll get there. And the great part is it's SO much easier to get started this time around.19

I made it two weeks with no alcohol.
It is flu-induced, so it feels like cheating, but between that and legit weight loss in the new year, I've maxed out all of my belts. I can't pull them tight enough.
I fit into my old Oregon polo.
Our custodian, Gustavo, told me I look skinny. I'll take it.21 -
I tracked consistently for 10 day! Whooo hooo!!23
-
I no longer pull my seatbelt out all the way when I get in the car20
