My calves and thighs are stretching out the seams in my skinny jeans. I’ve been strength training for the past year and I thought there wasn’t a huge change to how I look over all but because of how tight my jeans are in some places I’ve noticed a lot more muscle definition in my quads and calves.16

Giving away the pants that dont fit me anymore19

This morning I slept in instead of going for my walk/jog. Seems like a bizarre nsv hey? But the nsv is that I listened to my body this morning when it was telling me it needed a bit longer to sleep and I don't feel one little bit guilty or like I have messed up and now I'm going to fall off the wagon completely. Nope, I know it was a needed rest morning and that tomorrow morning I'll be right back into it.18

I need to improve my swimming to do a triathlon this summer. I showed up at a masters swimming practice, and the instructor told me to get in the water and float. My legs kept sinking, and he said: "you runners never have enough fat to float!" My swimming sucks, but I'm not fat, so I have that going for me...16

Good for you, rest is important too, well done for listening to your body4 -
My wedding rings are getting loose and I need to constantly keep turning them back into place!11

Talked to a new trainer today. He got me started on an actual weight lifting regimen. My body is so sore right now, but I'm so proud of that pain. I know I'm doing what I need to do to become healthy again. BTW, I never realized just how long 30 seconds can be when I'm "planking". Ugh. Looking forward to the day when a full minute plank is doable.12

We start running into each other at the gym and next thing you know, we're working out together. Two weeks ago, while spotting each other, I mention casually that if he wants help with his school work, I'll tutor him, but only if he will work as hard in tutoring as he does in the weight room.
He has taken me up on it and has come to my classroom 11 consecutive days for tutoring. And he's working at it. Report from his other teachers is they are beginning too see a real turn around in him.
Too early to tell if it will stick but I feel I'm on the verge of a significant non-scale victory BECAUSE of my efforts to live a healthier life.
Related, just today, he mentioned to another kid that we work out together in the gym. The kid said, and I quote, "That explains why Mr. Morgan is looking skinnier."
Two NSVs in one day!
That is incredible! I’m a teacher too so I know how tough it is to get through to a difficult kid! It’s also inspiring to see how your healthy life choices are having an effect on other areas of your life. You go!5 -

Triathlete here, Hint: Consciously press your chest down when you swim and your legs WILL come up. Imagine it like you are swimming downhill, keep your head an inch or two further in than you think.

Thank you, it's something I've struggled with because in the past if I missed one day, then it was an excuse to go the rest of that week before kicking off again, and usually by the beginning of the next week I'd find some other excuse. This morning I got up and went for my walk/jog again, no need to worry about falling off the wagon this time8 -
Didn't lose any weight today but I compared my photo from today to my first one on Feb 25 and I saw a very evident change already. Being sober has helped my skin return to normal and I look and feel a lot healthier. Also, I noticed a big change in my stomach. It is shrinking a lot in all areas. I haven't felt much different looking at myself in the mirror but seeing these pictures definitely confirms that my body is changing.20

I made vegetable soup for the first time ever!
I'm sick, and wanted something warm and soothing for a sore throat, and was actually craving veggie soup! That's definitely new for me.19 -
That soup looks like a warm hug from my Grandma.... mmmmmm.5

My resting heart rate now frequently drops below 40 beats per minute at night. Lowest has been 38 beats.
During the day at rest rarely goes above 55.
Very happy that my body is getting fitter even if the number in the damn scales isn’t moving.15 -
Swam for 7 days in a row 😁19
