One of the first things I ever wrote on my wall at the beginning of my weight loss journey was a mini-rant about getting emails from UA. Congrats, they said! You have logged for X Days - have a 20% off coupon code! Excellent, for the first time in 20 years I actually needed workout gear, yay!! But when I went to go get some new clothes, they didn't have ANY plus size gear. I was, quite literally, about 14" from being able to fit into their largest available size. Bummer. Yesterday, I got my first order from UA with 2 workout shirts in it - and they fit!! It's the largest size they offer and I just don't care. 340 days into this and I can finally fit into normal-ish size clothes - woot!!!37

I bought several pairs of shoes a few years ago and they were too tight and I never got a chance to wear them. Put them on Friday and they fit perfectly!!!14

That's what i said when i had an epiphany as a health coach/mental health social worker. Clients kept referring people, saying, "She helped me lose 75 more lbs," or "She gave me another way to look at things." Time was my excuse, now I'm running to the third floor 10x day smh. "Practice what you preach" is my new motto. Gained a new client today because of that lol13 -
Packed up the dogs into the truck and my husband and I took a nice long ride Sunday. When we needed a break, we stopped at McD's. I took care of my break, my husband came back to the truck with a double cheeseburger and fries with a soda. I was hungry too but waited until I saw a Subway and got a 6" turkey w/a ton of veggies, it was exactly what I wanted.15

I inspired a friend to start c25k! We finished week 1 day 1 together today! I can’t believe I’m an inspiration. This time last year I couldn’t run for 30 seconds, and now I’m training for a half marathon-crazy15

I remember being on a double date when I was 22 (twenty years ago) and thinking the other girl was so lucky she could wear those pants. She wasn't skinny but still looked very good in them and I definitely could not see myself ever being able to wear that (very large fat roll in that area). Yesterday she was my inspiration because I looked just like she did in them, I practically wanted to high-five myself if I'm honest!
#goals! Sailor pants are a biggie for me too! 🖐🏻 high five 🖐🏻11 -
I miss the gym! I have an 11 week old gorgeous German shepherd puppy who needs lots or attention right now, had her 3 weeks and managed gym once. I’ve been on the puppy diet and lost 5 lbs as no time to eat much lol. Hoping to fit in gym next week or so once can take puppy out for long walks (can gym when she sleeps). I adore her, but never thought I’d be someone who misses working out lol
Same here. I get mildly agitated when I have to skip a workout. Your puppy, though, will get you plenty of cardio with walks.7 -
Kinda weird NSV but i hadn't run in about a week b/c the weather here has been awful, raining and cold. I had gotten pretty down on myself for skipping my runs.
So, i got out there this morning expecting to be winded and outta shape and it felt amazing.15 -

I was getting annoying because I wanted to wear a body con dress but couldn't find my control top tights, which make the dress way more flattering. It was like all of my tights were just regular tights. Turns out my control top tights are just too big so they don't suck my stomach in anymore.26

Week 7 Day 1 of c25k this morning. 25 minutes of jogging! If you told back in November that I would be jogging for 25 minutes straight by mid March I would have laughed at you, yet here I am. Still going steady, but I know the speed will come with time. I did make it to 3.25km in the 25 minutes though, so not as slow as I thought I'd be. 😁12

I am in a smaller size jean today. Might be just that pair, not sure, but am glad for it. Also went to a bridal shower tonight, ate first at home. Had no snacks there, or drinks. Everything was total sugar. I came home and had some pecans and was perfectly happy about it.25

I don't use public transport too often but yesterday I was on a packed bus for the first time in years.
A lady sat next to me &....nothing happened.
I didn't have to apologise, ineffectively shove myself up against the window & didn't have to cringe my way to the destination longing for the whole thing to be over.
We smiled at eachother & I continued to listen to a podcast on my headphones. Such a mundane & usual thing for many many folk but to me....a chuffed worthy NSV!56 -

She sure will! 3 days until I can take her out for a walk, can’t wait, she’s currently 17lbs so I’m getting lots of strength training in carrying her when out! She’s so adorable x4 -
I can do all 6 flights of stairs now from the parkade at work to my floor without being winded. I used to sometimes have to stop partway to rest. I’ve also broken the elevator habit and now actually favour the stairs!21

I have been reading this thread since November (when I started my weight loss), and I finally caught up with all the posts.
First of all, I want to thank each and everyone of you, you have been such an inspiration!
And now I want to share some of my own NSVs too.- I've been feeling much better and much stronger (both physically and mentally) than I can remember.
- My overall relationship with food and with my body is much healthier now.
- My blood pressure is gradually getting better.
- I had to buy a belt when my jeans started sliding down on me. I know that eventually I'll have to retire some of my clothes, but for now I've just been enjoying how loose they feel. After years of tight clothes, this feels priceless.
- I used to hate exercise. Now I found a couple of things I actually enjoy doing, and my attitude changed for the better.

After losing 25lbs, it doesn’t show and my knees aren’t feeling much better, but my balance has improved, I used to stumble slightly like I was tripping over my own feet, haven’t done it for a few weeks 👌.27

I would bet that 25 pounds lost shows somewhere. You may not notice but the weight is gone so you almost have to be thinner someplace. That's why a lot of people use a tape measure.
I really noticed when I put on a pair of smaller jeans and they fit with room to spare.8 -

Congratulations on losing 25 lbs! I'd bet that it does show. Our minds sometimes fool us into believing nothing has changed. I still wonder who that thinner person is that I see in the mirror every morning.

I am heading to Mexico in a couple of weeks for the first beach vacay with just my husband in at least a decade. Pulled out all my shorts in various sizes - every single one either fits or has spare room. Pulled out several bikinis and a killer LBD-ish one piece and VOILA! Then I went for the long-unworn sexy slip dresses for dinner and OMG they all fit
Just passed -25 today too - yes, it's a SV but hey whatever! Working hard to lose a couple more before we leave!27 -
PR in my most recent 5K. I was originally scheduled for my first half marathon but medical issues and lack of energy made me realize that wasn't a priority. Quite honestly I was considering blowing the whole thing off the day before. Instead I braved the freezing cold, the drizzle, the medical stuff, and the early morning for a 15 minute mile walking pace. I'll take it.23

I was doing push-ups this morning (on my knees), and my 30lb toddler decided to climb on and I was still able to do them. I love getting stronger. Can't wait to do 'real' ones with or without the extra weight.18

Take Photos! I just hit 45 lbs lost and when I look at myself, I see no change. But at 40 lbs lost, I put old and new photos together and it was mind blowing! Small changes everywhere. I feel the change in my clothes and how I take up space in chairs, the car, etc.13 -
Printed the exercise report from MFP using year to date this year and 2018. Sometimes I get discouraged how slow this process is but when I went back and looked at how my weights have increased in my lifts....I felt better.18

Ain't that the truth, Carmen. I've been working on squat form with lighter weight for several months. Feel like I'm not getting anything done, but I'm able to get past parallel on every rep now. You've inspired me! More weight on the bar next week!13 -
Capris from LOFT with a 26 inch waist!21

I just received an order of new clothes that were two sizes smaller than the previous order and they are too big—yay!16

Managed to get back into a pair of UK size 14 trousers I had outgrown several months ago.19

My left leg/knee and arms were canning yesterday from boxercise. So I decided to not push it and rest my body - I didn't go for my run.
Instead, I got a leg massage and rested. This morning - the leg still hurts, but not enough to miss another session! The scales showed a +0.3kg increase, but that is just noise.
The NSV - I didn't feel guilty at all. This is a big one as I would beat myself relentlessly if I missed a session and found that my weight had "increased". But I didn't. Because weightloss is NOT LINEAR and there are a multitude of factors, most beyond my control, for fluctuations - mostly, it's just water weight/water retention from muscles, salt intake etc. I netted 1400 cals yesterday and that was great!
I am so glad I listened to my body and my mind. And even more so, I was kind to myself17 -
Stated with MFP at the start of January lost a few lbs quite quickly and after 3 weeks saw a (very expensive) dress I loved - and the UK 16 fitted perfectly, I was over the moon as Hobbs dresses are normally quite small fitting. Bought it but then felt guilty about spending the money, so didn't wear it and returned it...
... today I saw the same dress in the sale - 40% off the price, so decided I would get it after all... 16 was too big... so was the 14, so came home with the size 12! Win win😊
Loving reading all your NSVs, never posted on here before, but you are all absolute inspirations!50
