In fact, I have gone up one lb. Yes, I am measuring EVERYTHING on a scale. I am working out 6 days a week, and maintaining anywhere from a 500-1000 calorie deficit. I wear a fitbit but generally subtract 200 or so cals because I know it can be inaccurate. I have been drinking almost a gallon of water a day. Cardio/ weights/ yoga. 1200-1500 calories a day, and before you suggest this isn’t accurate, it is. I am measuring/ weighing everything I put in my mouth and only eating at home. Also, no booze. In the past I have lost on low carb but have tried to stick to the theory of cals in cals out and just keep my macros balanced. I am working with a trainer who even seemed a little baffled why I’m not losing. A little bit of complex carbs and fruits but mainly protien and veggies, good fats. I am beyond frustrated as I have 30 lbs or so to lose, and I am literally busting my butt ( I fell in yoga the other day)

Water weight. 2 weeks isn't long enough to say it's not working25

@TavistockToad water weight from what? I am eating nothing processed, hardly using salt, no booze, staying well hydrated.2

Hormones or increased exercise10 -
@TavistockToad so increased exercise is hindering my weight loss? Not sure what I can do about the hormones bit.1

It can be countless things from increased exercise to poor sleep.
ETA: I’ve been up two pounds for two weeks despite no changes. It fell off this morning.8 -
If you just started up all that exercise in a short period of time, likely it is your muscles holding onto water. Give it more time. Also start taking measurements and progress photos as well.7

That sounds really not fun at all. You don't have to suffer that much to lose weight. It's all about small sustainable changes. As long as you are in a deficit over time, you will lose. However water weight can affect the scale sometimes. Maybe if you open up your diary others might be able to help if they see any issues with your logging or entries.16

You don't need to do anything about either of them. Just be aware that both things can cause an increase in water weight and there for mask weight loss.12 -
@SusieBanyon I am using the scale for pretty much everything except for seasoning where I use measuring spoons.0

@sardelsa measurements have been the same for a month. I feel like I am doing this for nothing. I have no social life. Not going out to bars/ dinners. I literally work out and cook/ meal prep.
You might want to look into a more sustainable method before you crash and binge, or are you happy with this no social life lifestyle?15 -
@TavistockToad shouldn’t my measurements be changing then? They haven’t changed at all.1

It's only been two weeks. You could be losing fat in areas that aren't being measured.8 -

Possibly though I don't use measurements as I can never find the same spot twice so my results are all over the show.
How much weight have you lost in the last 4 week's?5 -
@TavistockToad I am not happy, but willing to sacrifice for now. I am on a leave from work and really want to utilize this time I have to reach my goal, in a sense it is my job.
@SusieBanyon I am eating very basic food. The most exotic I get is siracha or some avocado. The other day I “cheated” with a sweet potato and putting cream in my coffee.9 -

Weight loss through punishing yourself will NOT work long term.29 -
@TavistockToad I have lost 4 lbs in about 5 weeks
@SusieBanyon I just mean “cheat” in reference to your exotic food question. These were splurge items for me. I have been trying avoid dairy and most starches as I find I get bloated.1 -

That's a great rate of loss, just keep doing what you're doing.
This isn't biggest loser, you shouldn't be trying to lose 5lbs a week.
And weight loss isn't linear.21 -
You can gain 3-5 pounds with monthly hormonal fluctuations, so you may need 4-5 weeks to assess the impact of CI-CO, especially if your workout routine is increased in the last couple of weeks (inflammation response = water retention). How quickly/slowly food matter moves through your digestive system can also make a difference in scale weight. I suggest getting a trend weight app to smooth out the normal scale fluctuations into a running average so that you can see your total trend more easily. I am a pound and a half up today from two days ago, and if I was tracking weight with weekly weigh-ins, I could easily conclude I had gained fat. But my trend shows I am right on target for losing a half to three quarters of a pound per week.10

@SusieBanyon I was concerned about the stall. Two weeks seems like a long time to see no change.1
